Good morning all! It is snowing here but not sticking to the ground as it is above 32. Windy day, too.
I am headed up to my old home town this afternoon despite relatively bad weather. I believe the roads will be clear and I will be at the hospital at 7 am so want to stay overnight close by. Meanwhile I am plugging away at getting work done.
I am more nervous than I thought I would be about this procedure and more nervous about what they may find. I'll keep you posted and hoping for a good outcome.
Have a good day friends...

Hey friends,
I am back from my morning in the hospital having the tests. I feel pumped up with Nitroglycerin and pretty good, but very tired. I stayed with a friend and she and her DH and another couple I am really friendly with had a lovely dinner at their home. They made a lemon chicken that had been her Italian mom's recipe along with rice and green beans and a lemon pie. All was great. We chatted until about 10:30 and I didnt sleep well despite the lovely accommodations. It's okay. I had to be up at 6 and off to the hospital by 6:30 and I am glad it was all done by 11 or so. Now I wait for good results, I hope!
I am doing a bit of work and opted not to go into work tomorrow. I rescheduled my dinner with friends. Just too pooped to make the drive again. I get a lot done here at home.
I made one quick stop at Trader Joe's near the hospital to stock up on things we like. It's usually snacky type things along with their great selection of cheeses, etc. and some frozen Indian food which I think is pretty good there.
All for now and I hope you are having a great day. TTFN

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
I just got home from school. The National Weather Service had predicted a quick-moving clipper this morning, but it apparently stalled as it started snowing at the appointed time before 10 a.m. but it forgot to stop! It snowed all day and we accumulated about 5"!! Our lawn service had plowed our driveway area before I left this morning, and still I had to maneuver the deep snow to get into the garage when I got home. Such is Life in Michigan!!
I thawed out a salmon filet to grill tonight and DH has a big batch of salad makings ready, so we're all set!
We had a great weekend, despite the Detroit Lions loss. We enjoyed the game nonetheless.
Our area has cancelled all the afternoon and evening activities. Not surprising!
DBIL is busy catching up with his doctor's appointments ahead of his proposed valve repair. He is not happy about it, but we are optimistic for him! He will know tomorrow when his procedure will take place.
I need to sit down and rest a bit from this day. When I got to school this morning, the snow was already ankle deep and as I stepped out of my car, an arm slipped through mine and I saw my much younger co-worker there. She explained that she purposely came early in order to walk me in the building. There are just no words to describe some kinds of friends.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi Sue! Your story about your coworker just warmed my heart. There truly are good people in this world. I also want to give you the award for the most skilled and courageous snow driver! You must be very good at navigating in the bad weather. I am still a wimp after all these years. What can I say? This morning was iffy when the roads were icy especially side roads and sidewalks very slippery. I took my time and all went well. So glad I came home right after the hospital visit. I was pooped and the snow had started up in the city. No snow here thank goodness. Thankful for living near the ocean - not as much snow but also not as pretty in wintertime.
I hope your DH does well with his heart procedure. It's always tricky and glad you have such a good surgeon. I feel very good about my testing today and hoping for equally good results.
We had Indian food for lunch and some pasta for dinner. Doubly up on those carbs but it's okay. I was hungry and so was DH. Daisy gave me a warm welcome home. She is the best greeter!
Our DS and his family are coming on Friday and I am so excited to see the little ones. THey are the light of our lives.
Have a good night all and waving to our cafe pals. TTFN
