Hey all,
TGIF. I made it home a bit later last night and was glad dinner was "served" with the crockpot. I must make an effort to use it more often since it makes life so much easier! The kielbasa/cabbage/potato and onion dish was delicious. We watched a movie after dinner about the making of the We Are the World song. Loved seeing all those fabulous musicians and singers - so much younger than now! :-) LIke the rest of us!
DS and family will arrive tonight after dinner. They are making a stop at their very favorite Hibachi place that is all gluten free and it's about two hours from here. DDIL likes to go every time they come up here since it is one of the few places she can eat when dining out.
Sue, I am so sorry about the delayed procedure for your DH, but glad it's set now. And, I chuckled about your hair appt - usually it is ME who is apt to forget and I am thankful that my new hairdresser sends out text reminders.
I finished my book and am starting one for my new book club now called The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. I read another of his and loved it.
I hope everyone has a nice day and we are thrilled to think about some of that sun coming through tomorrow. It has been way beyond gloomy around here! I am about ready to sit under a sunlamp - ha ha!
TTFN and I'll drop a note when I can during DS's visit.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I always feel like it's Saturday when I wake up on Friday because we don't work on Friday. So this is like an extra "free day" to me. I was entering some school days off on my calendar yesterday and really got myself mixed up - including telling DH I had to leave early this morning to go to WW for WI, then when I looked it is two weeks away! We are going to weigh in early this month because VBF is going to Florida for a month.
I have been busy listing some equipment on Facebook Market Place for DH. He gave me a list sometime ago but I never got around to navigating that site, which I haven't used for some time now. But now that it's done, it's a good feeling. Now I just have to remember to check it every couple days.
This week's menus have been quite easy. I got out the George Foreman grill and cooked chicken breasts and angus beef burgers and chicken/gouda/apple sausages. We had burgers night before last and DH brought home a serving of cole slaw and a half order of tater tots for us to put with them. YUM!! Last night we had salad (brought home from school) enhanced with chicken breast and some salad kit from Meijer, and it made a delicious entree!! We baked a sweet potato and halved it to go with.
Judy ~ I seem to have confused the issue again. My DBIL is still waiting to be scheduled for a TAVR (hopefully next week). My DH is having the Carotid Duplex Scan next Tuesday. We scheduled it for after school so I can go with him. You're right, though, that there is so much going on, it is easy to get it confused. I guess that comes with the age. Glad your DH is doing well, also.
Ann ~ I do miss hearing about you and Carl (and, of course, Benjamin). There is an empty spot in my morning when I don't hear from you. OF course we understand about you doing what is comfortable and what works for you, but keep us in mind, please!!
Pam ~ Hope things are going well with you. I think about you so often.
We finally have some nice weather today. In fact, just a little while ago I looked outside and saw some sunshine however fleeting! We haven't seen the sun in DAYS and it is a nice change. Unfortunately I have been stuck in the house so far, but may get out later.
Yesterday I walked through the Meijer parking lot and the store without using a cart, and it felt really good. I began talking to DH about accompanying me to the big Mall so I can walk a bit but with company for stability as much as anything else. The vertigo is so much better, but far from resolved. I think now it's going to be a case of rebuilding. My goal is to be able to walk in sandals outside by the Summer.
We had cantaloupe and HB egg for breakfast and I'm planning to have my yogurt and blackberries with F1 for lunch. Supper is still up in the air, but there is lots of food in the fridge at the ready.
I think I'll get my house in order and then watch the noon news and then decide what to do this afternoon.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue, LOL, you did not foul up the medical procuedures for your DH and your DBIL. I did! You can count on me to do that lately. :-)
Enjoy your day!

Judy ~ I know that feeling very well .... I'm constantly confused about something lately. I continue to blame it on my "illness" but I suspect there's an age-related component there too, but I just laugh it off and go on....

Good morning. Popping in to wish y'all a happy week.
Back issues are doing well. Eyes...oh well what can I say. I can now only read two lines on the infamous eye chart. On the plus side we did find out that another eye place that got horrible reviews is no longer in our town. Another one with great reviews opened in its place. Monday Carl will call to set up an appointment for him and scope it out. Praying it's a good fit. Unfortunately I won't be able to go there until next year...BUT I will go there to have my eyeglasses done.
Take care and know that I miss you and you all remain in my heart and prayers.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday! We have just returned from one of our favorite brunch places (with leftovers for later). Unfortunately DBIL was not able to join us and he was sorely missed! He has an appointment with a new cardiologist to see about scheduling his TAVR surgery.
Ann ~ It was "just like old times" to open the Cafe and find you here. So warm and welcoming! Glad your back is better. Good news about the new eye doctor, and great idea to have Carl go and try it out first <lol>
Judy ~ I know you're having a great time with those DGKs. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I also love crockpot meals. So rewarding to come home to supper already cooked!! A favorite memory of mine is the year DH bought me my bread maker. We were still busy with our Auction business, and the first day I put vegetable beef soup in the crockpot, and a loaf of bread on delay start in the bread machine. I was gone all day and when I opened the door in the evening, it smelled absolutely heavenly!! Nothing like it!!
Pam ~ So sorry about your sore throat! I have suffered with them extensively in the past and can sympathize. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. Feel better.
Last night we opted for ham and cheese sandwiches on Dave's Killer bread with smoked ham and CoJack cheese. We also had some Ritz Ranch flavored crackers. DH brought home DQ Snickers Blizzards and we split one in the evening while watching TV. All in all, a fun and satisfying Saturday night.
We finally have some sunshine today and it is in the upper 40's. So nice to see the sun!!
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi friends,
Ann!!! I’m so happy to see you here!! Made my day. I’m glad your back is feeling better and good news about the new highly rated eye doctor.
Sue, great to hear all your news. We also had sun today! I needed blinders when I was out with the DGKs. We had a great visit with them. They arrived Friday night at dinner time and yesterday we played, did a woodworking craft, rode on Grampy’s lawn mower and went to lunch at a great Seafood gluten free restaurant. We watched a movie last night. Today included walking on the beach and riding their little motorized jeep outside. We ordered pizzas before they left. Our 2 year old 30 lb guy ate FOUR slices! Ha. Lots of fun but I’m exhausted!! They are both Everready batteries!
Off to make dinner and go to ukulele class!
