. Nasty sinus headache on one side (migraine) got me up for coffee early. if that hangs around, not getting state taxes done.
46 degrees on the patio when I let dog out, colder off it. Way low! Only 48 now almost nine o' clock. We will be getting some of that atmospheric river/Pineapple Express starting Tuesday and hanging in there…lot more rain than Thursday.
Hope your day is good.

Chele, thanks for the start. How was the shrimp stir fry last night? Publix has some takeout meals at their seafood counter and I had the salmon last night. It was really good. It came with a nice piece of fish, a good veggie medley and rice. I just did my annual chat with SiriusXM to get the bill down. It was going to be $32.99/month at the renewal price, but they offered me $8/month including fees. It's their second tier, but I don't use the platinum stuff anyway.
Linda, hope that headache is easing up. I wonder if it's from the weather changes.
Karen, hope you're having a good day. We're still hovering around 70°. The big weather system is supposed to come through tomorrow. Hope it doesn't mess up the Pro Bowl. Did you know it's now a flag football game? I may have to turn in just to see a little bit of that!

Thanks for the start, Chele. Did you and Iggy go for an adventure today? Is YS open? I thought you said a lot of the farmers had greenhouses now so they could grow year round. Did you get the sunshine the weather guessers promised?
Linda, I remember well that old taco pie. I used to make something like it without the crust when I was doing WW. Yay on getting some of your taxes done. I wonder why all the redundancy at the state level. I hope the headache subsided so you could get the state taxes done. Tennessee doesn't have state income tax, but we will still owe some on profits from investments. They get us with hire state taxes though. Minni won't be happy about that coming rain.
You're the wheeler and dealer on SiriusXM deals, Kathy. Would someone actually pay $32.99 a month, nearly $400 a year? That's outrageous! And if it's second tier, there are people paying a lot more? WOW! Enjoy the Grammys! Flag football? Seriously? Can those guys even do that, or is some defensive player going to forget where he is and throw a big tackle on the opposing QB? Could definitely be entertaining. Did you see that the Big Ten and the SEC have formed a coalition of ADs, presidents, and chancellors to "address college issues"? UTK chancellor, Dr. Plowman, wrote a rather scathing letter to the NCAA and the headline in the local paper was "NCAA Gets Plowed". The chancellor said she has received a ton of support from faculty, staff, student athletes, and everyday students. This has turned into a really big deal locally. Is it getting any press there?
I got quite a lot done today. We have a clean bed to crawl into tonight. I did some cooking and have more to do tomorrow. I also started working on a project I'm doing for the MG plant sale in March and April (2 sales this year) that will take some time to pull together, but now I have a start. Dale played tennis and they had great weather for it. He said it was a really large group today. Arya and I took several walks in the sunshine. It was a little cooler than yesterday, but still nice weather for February. Hopefully Phil and Bee Cave Bob will be right and spring will be here quickly.

Karen, you really did get a lot done.
I did that Sirius thing too where you quit and let them make you an offer or two. $81 for the year , one payment, but nit until they charged $28 for Dec. and woke me up that my year had expired. I think people just forget that part of the deal and do not bother to check credit card statements.
We have some of the highest sales tax in the country, county, city and state! You should see that when you buy a car!
headache did go away and I got the taxes done. Flat rate this year of 2.5 % helped us. And they have a slew of credits that come right off your tax. Tomorrow I copy over the main form and check, the write name and ssn on every single sheet front and back. Then Mail with signature requested Monday .glad to get it gone
so I got a bed changed and lines washed, dog walked around the whole block finally, and taxes done. Pretty good
Sad news about my friend home a week again from rehab. She is in hospital disoriented and I do not know what happened. She will be in total care for the rest of her life.they are looking for a place, she, three others, and I were all that was left of a Questers chapter of 25 ten years ago. People started getting sick, going to asst living, moving in with kids, dying ….. of us, one is joining another chapter. We disbanded . So we are now one 83+single woman, me, and one who has had heart surgery, pacemaker, and is still in PT for knee replacement. Kind of gets to me.

Linda, I’m glad the migraine didn’t last too long and you were able to get the taxes done.
Kathy, the shrimp stir fry was great. Iggy outdid himself. Good job on negotiating the price down on SiriusXM. I don’t listen to the radio enough for it to be worth to me. I have an oldies station, a classic rock station, a top 40s station and a morning talk show. That’s all I need. Otherwise it’s podcasts for me. Iggy and I saw some highlights of the dodgeball game the pro football players had. He told me there was going to be flag football too. I checked the website of the company that owes me a tax form and it said they would be available mid February. Pfft.
Karen, we did get warmer temps and sunshine, but the change in weather also brought a migraine. I’m glad you got to enjoy the sunshine. There is a market in Springfield we could go to but haven’t made it yet.
Iggy and I went to Meijer Friday. I needed him to load and unload the cart as my back has been playing up the past two weeks. He has always preferred Meijer and I prefer Kroger.
It’s been a beautiful sunny day and we have reached 50°. I am happy to see the sun.

Linda, sorry to hear about your friend. It definitely sounds like living on her own again may not be an option. Can she afford in-home care? Isn't she the one with a couple of dogs? Will the pups stay with whoever has been caring for them while she's been in the hospital and rehab? I heard about a research study that showed people going into assisted living thinking they will be happy giving up all the housework, yard work, meal prep, laundry, etc., and actually ends up being worse off because of the massive decrease in their activity level. Our local sales tax is 9.75% and it's about 1/2% cheaper in Knoxville, so I do a lot of my shopping there. Yes, it can really add up on big ticket items. Congrats on getting the taxes done and getting everything else done that you accomplished yesterday. I wondered if Covid might be altering the immune response of people who get it several times. But according to the Time article, once is all it takes for that to happen for some people. It looks like it's linked to a lot of other nasty problems as well.
I just saw a video about the "Pro Bowl Games", Kathy. I guess it not being an actual game will be a lot more entertaining and lead to potentially fewer injuries. Maybe they need to do that with the Senior Bowl, too. Are you still enjoying weather in the 70s? We are supposed to be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday, but still in the upper 50s (maybe 60) so I can't complain.
Chele, sorry about the weather-induced migraine. Sorry your back is acting up again, but good that Iggy's wasn't so he was able to help with the grocery trip on Friday. Kudos to Chef Iggy for a hit with the stir fry. Enjoy your 50s. We are almost into the 60s right now and should be in that vicinity for the rest of the week. Not exactly typical February weather, so I'll take it.
Another busy day here. After Dale got back from his run I went outside to get a little work done. I pruned the 3 apple trees, pulled up all the stakes, supports, tomato cages, etc. from what will be the new garden plot, and spread 5 bags of mulch under the elderberries. I could have used a couple more bags and will need some for the other stand of elders when Dale makes a Lowes run. I spent about an hour and a half on those tasks. In the meantime I had the weekly load of workout clothes in the washer and dryer. After showering I baked the weekly loaf of sourdough and made a pot of minestrone for Dale. I'm now in crash mode for the rest of the afternoon (I hope). Back is a little sore, so I hope that doesn't continue.

Karen, sometimes the website gives you a good deal if you push the Cancel button. This time, the deal they offered wasn't great, so I clicked on "Chat to cancel" and they asked why. When I said it was too expensive, they offered that deal. Same as Linda, the full price appeared on my credit card. They refunded me the difference between the full price and the new price. I haven't seen anything locally about the coalition on the NCAA. Wow on your sales tax rate. Our state sales tax is 6% and the counties can add more. Orange's is 6.5% and Seminole's is 7%. Brevard's is still 6%. Mayor Demings wanted to raise ours to 7%, but that went over like a lead balloon and didn't pass. It's still in the 70s today. I don't think we're getting nearly as much rain as what they forecast.
Chele, I mainly stream Sirius in the house and they have all kinds of channels and podcasts. I like a lot of the channels that focus on individual artists and the holiday ones at Christmastime are nice. They also have all the news and talk radio channels streaming live. The radio stations here have really gone downhill and there just aren't any shows I really like anymore, plus the commercials drive me nuts. Conservative talk radio has taken over a lot of our local stations. 😱 Boo hiss on the company being so late with your form. Glad the stir fry turned out well. Now I'm hungry for shrimp! Enjoy the sunshine. Florida isn't living up to its reputation as the sunshine state today. Sorry to hear about the migraine and your back, but that's good Iggy could do the lifting for the groceries.
Linda, I went to a different county when I bought my last car to get a lower sales tax. It makes a big difference when you're spending that much. Sorry to hear about your friend and the Questers group.

Before all this friend had a brain bleed. First time rehab sent her home, she fell and hit her head but seemed ok just too weak yet. Not sure what happened this times d wondering about a stroke, but she will need constant care they think. She is disoriented.
Other friend who moved way over to Sun City and had stroke and signs of increasing dimentia, and then fell and broke her neck and refused surgery…fell again and has multiple leg fractures…well she is in nursing home and needs me to at least message her every so often when she can initiate it. She can no longer find words a lot of the time and fears loss of communication without practice.
does not make us look forward to 80.
Brunch made, got my hair dyed at last, my nails decently manicured by me..clear polish later. Trip to Sees for 1/2 pound for us to save for Valentines Day and some to send to sisters back east, dog walked , taxes done and ready to mail tomorrow. Finally get to sit with a book.
