Hi friends,
It's a sunny day! Hooray. Cold but sunny so I hope to get out for a walk. I have my online TOPS today. Haven't jumped on the scale today - I should because I tend to avoid it when I have overindulged. That is when I need it most.
Not much new since last night and my news about our visit with the family. We had a greawt weekend overall! DH and I stayed up way too late last night watching The Tourist - a dark mystery starring Jamie Dorn. Good series of about 6 episodes.
Have a great day and I was very happy to see our full "crew" here in the cafe yesterday. Pam, I sure hope your throat is not still sore. Did you get a strep test? Hang in...

Good evening,
I felt even worse when I woke this morning and my voice was mostly gone. I went to OT in an N-95 mask, with my therapist’s permission, because I only was able to schedule 2 sessions. I called my doctor and he squeezed me in at 1:00 pm. Judy, you hit the nail on the head: strep. I am so glad I didn’t wait another day! I got antibiotics and a steroid shot to help relieve my sinus congestion. Still feeling pretty rough this evening, so I can only imagine how much worse I would have felt by tomorrow .
I was down 4 lbs. when I weighed today, but I’m probably dehydrated. Anyway, the steroid shot will surely bump my weight, but I don’t care if it helps me feel better. DH made us a lovely dinner of navy beans cooked with a leftover hambone, brown rice and coleslaw. From what I could taste, it was great. He’s also been keeping the kitchen clean so I can rest. I love that man!
I’m reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I’m only a couple chapters in so not sure if I’ll like it or not. I’m trying to pick a few books outside my comfort zone this year. I have Alice Munro’s Dear Life waiting in the wings. Sweet dreams to all!

Pam, I’m so glad you got to the doctors and are being treated with antibiotics and steroids. I always start to improve right after going to the doctors. It just makes you feel better that you know what it is exactly that you have. I’m also happy for you that your DH is such a great caregiver. You two are a great team because you have certainly done your share as a wonderful caregiver, too.i hope you start feeling much better today. Strep is so painful but thankfully so treatable.
My DH has headed to the dentist this morning in an emergency appointment. He had a toothache yesterday and he suspects it is the one that needs a crown. I’m glad he was able to get right in. And I hope he can be fixed up today.
I am reading The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. I’d read Deacon King Kong by him before. Both are through book clubs and ones I’d most likely not read but I’m enjoying this new one a lot as I did the other one. Good to branch out and keep this old brain working!
Have a good one friends.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have mild temps and sunshine again today, which is way overdue!
Ann ~ It is so good to hear from you. How is Benjamin?
Judy ~ Sorry about your DH's tooth! Tooth pain is the worst! Hopefully by now his is all resolved.
Pam ~ Sending you "get well" wishes. Glad you got right in to the doctor and got medication! Feel better!!
I am off to school today. I got up early and had my quiet time with my coffee and Kindle, then showered and put on a bit of make up and did my hair. I don't think I have anything to do on the way home.
DH went to his cardiologist yesterday and now we are waiting for results of his duplex carotid scan. We don't expect any bad news, but we'll see.
Sending you all good wishes.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hello friends,
My symptoms have worsened over the past two days with more congestion and coughing. I called the doctor’s office and gave the nurse an update. I’m waiting for a call back to know if I need to stick it out or if there’ll be a change in meds.
I did manage to get laundry done yesterday. I try to move around every hour or so. I don’t want pneumonia to develop. Today I went to OT, the last one until mid-week next week due to Mardi Gras holiday and my therapist taking a couple days off. I will continue to do most of the exercises at home.
The rest of today will be reading and sipping herbal tea, which seems to help soothe me.
Sue- I hope DH’s scan is clear.
Judy - Hope your DH’s tooth issue is resolved.
