Kathy, I had looked on the usual places, like YouTube, for the video of Tracy and Luke, without any success. The show was on CBS and we have Paramount + and I found it there. Fortunately, it was early in the broadcast so I found it pretty quickly. Definitely memorable. Maybe they'll release it as a duet some day. From what I remember, she is very protective of her music and sued another artist a few years back for using part of one of her songs without permission. So Luke must have made a very convincing pitch to have been allowed to record Fast Car. Has your weather improved since yesterday? I hope you haven't had any more severe stuff. Are you getting any of what his California and Linda?
How are you feeling, Chele? I hope the stiffness and soreness is starting to ease. 7K is a really good step goal from what I've read. 10K is nice but doesn't have any science behind it and it was originally a marketing thing. Did you wake up with more energy this morning? We have another sunny day but it started out cool. They're saying 62 for our high today with sunshine and then clouds moving in tomorrow but still in the low 60s.
Linda, has your rain moved out? I think we'll be getting your remnants starting on Friday. How did Minni do with all that rain? We never go for the appliance plans either. DMIL used to and it never worked out very well for her, with situations similar to yours or they had an excuse for why something wasn't covered.
Dale went for a trail run and I did a good workout (over an hour total) but not much else. Arya and I will spend some time out on the deck later this afternoon. If Dale gets home in time I may get the rest of the mulch spread under the elderberries. Hope everyone has a good Hump Day.

Karen, good to hear doggie is enjoying being out with you or wAlks!
Chele, wow, hope you did not overdo it and feel ok.
freak event last night. radar said break in rain for 20 minutes all around us , so we went out. two steps onto the lawn, heavens opened to ready hard rain! minni bolted for the door. i hobbled. got her mostly dry in a fight with playing with the towel, and the rain was gone! nothing on radar for ten miles. she went out and then was bouncy energized! i felt like Joe Blizfx, that guy in Li'l Abner with his own rain cloud over him. WEIRD. Today's thunderstorms are giving us a miss and currently hammering Tucson.

Karen, thanks for the start. Still woke up stiff but had more energy. I started with 5000 steps, then 6000. I really have to push to get 7000 so I am keeping it here for a while and if I go over, I’ll celebrate. I am getting in at least 30 active minutes per day at a moderate level and I’ve lost 4 lbs in 4 weeks, so I am happy. I haven’t done an hour workout at one time for eons, but you are much more active than I ever was. I was never very athletic. I looked for that duet on YouTube as well. I’ll have to look at Spectrum on demand. I hope you get your mulch down.
Linda, maybe the rain will beat down that juniper pollen. I hope your phone is behaving today. We have never been able to find repair techs that are not associated with a store. That’s why we get the plans. Maybe you should get Minni a little raincoat.
Kathy, Iggy feels much better today. He and I both have more energy, although I never felt sick. Ive heard Bill Joel’s new single and I liked it. How’s your Mom’s leg doing? Is she behaving herself. Iggy’s DM turned 98 in December. She’s doing okay except for osteoarthritis.
It was a nice sunny day until a few minutes ago when it started getting a little cloudy. It’s 53°, so nice and springlike. Iggy and I drove to the Tokyo Grill that has the sushi buffet and all you can eat hibachi grill. This is the only sushi buffet that has sustained its quality over time. We took surface streets there and back so we could soak in the sun. We even had the windows down for a little while.
Iggy made his own yogurt and lebne. I haven’t tried the yogurt yet but the lebne is excellent. You make it by straining the yogurt for about two days. It is the consistency of cream cheese but more tart and half the fat and calories. I’ve never liked the commercial lebne that we could get at the Middle Eastern deli, but I’ve always liked Iggy’s. He hasn’t made his own yogurt and lebne for years. I’m glad it’s back.

Karen, I saw a video of the Fast Car duet on Twitter the next day, but I noticed they were really quick in taking it down due to copyright issues. I'm glad you got to see it. I saw that Tracy Chapman's original version of the song and the album went to #1 on iTunes and her greatest hits album was also high on the charts. I'm guessing a lot of people are just discovering her since the song was out in the 80s. It's nice today and still in the 60s. We've had a low pressure system causing all the bad weather, but it's not connected to the system in CA.
Chele, 4 lbs in 4 weeks is fantastic! 7k steps is great too. I've never been athletic either. DM's leg seems back to normal and she is doing well. That's great that Iggy's DM is doing well at 98. DM's oldest sister is turning 97 next month. She's doing well too and is still driving. I hadn't heard of lebne, but nice to have it homemade along with the yogurt.
Linda, I've looked at radar showing rain here when it was clear and the other way around too. Must've been a little popup shower.

Wow,Chele, great loss.
took me four weeks to finally dump two! Pants slide down, but not enough to go one size lower.
minni has four coats, two with rain shields. She does not like them either. Think two are too small now.
Decided to tackle the totally frosted lantana bush out front that is six feet diameter and three tall. One big mass of thin ,twiggy ,entangled branches which connect at bottom to thicker ones. Plan was to get at least 1/4 cut to ground and four years worth of leaves under it pulled out. Turned out to be two feet deep in moldering, wet leaves. Yuck. but I had my new leather garden gloves that go up to the elbow.
sat on my patio footstool , worked down and from side snapping off and cutting branches, then cut bigger ones with loppers about five inches from ground and scooped out mat of leaves. I filed two big black trash bags and decided to just stack the branches for the yard guys who will finish it. Then I half filled another with just leaves and it was so heavy I couldn't lift it. Rolled it onto my yard dolly to put behind the gate.
Once it is done, I need to trace the drip tubes from where they connected to the regular irregation system. I thing the regulators at the ends came off and it gets too much water.
the guys still have two small lantana to cut down, plus the short hedge in front of the front windows. upper part is frosted. 1/3 of the ficus tree/bush that is up past the garage eaves is defrosted. Don't see it all getting done in one session. They should have done this stuff without being told. All most guys do here is cut 1/2 inch off shrubs with power trimmer and the outside gets so thick that inside dies! Then they do not blow leaves out from under it.
At least this will grow back, unlike the summer landscape disaster.
Then walked Minni and hit kitchen for acorn bread and taco bake casserole. I can now fall into a chair until dinner. Already two Advil and Tylenol. Knees did ok.
