Linda, you were busy despite the rain. I copy the recipe page from cookbooks, date it and put in a 3 ring binder. If I don’t make it within 6 months it comes out of the binder.
Kathy, if my parents were still around I probably wouldn’t categorize myself as old or I might call myself old and them ancient. 😆 Our meteorologists are saying next week will be cooler and they had a map that said Florida would be below normal temperatures. Hurray?!
Karen, I’m glad the PT is paying off for you and the pain is less. I know my body would protest laying mulch on flat ground let alone a hill. I woke up a bit stiff but not in pain. After a couple of hours the stiffness started to ease up. I have a LOT of weight to lose a day 1 lb is not 1% so I am safe. I asked my doc to prescribe a weight loss drug a day he refused. I trust him so I won’t pursue it. I was never a tomboy but I was always a walker until I started traveling for work and I got lazy. I’m glad the gym crowd has thinned. Hopefully no one will hog the machines you want. Iggy hasn’t asked to work out recently. He does use whole milk. Labne is thicker than Greek yogurt and has more full bodied flavor.
It’s another sunny day here and 63°. By next week we will be in the 40s. Iggy grilled chicken and vegetables yesterday while we still had sun and warmth. Today he made ful which is fava beans with garlic, onion, tomato, parsley and lemon juice. Believe it or not this is supposed to be for breakfast served with pita bread. It’s not breakfast for me.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Enjoy your sunny, warm day. We have rain and aren't out of the 40s yet. Tomorrow is supposed to be rinse (literally) and repeat. We'll be cooler next week as well. When does your cool weather move in? We'll be right there with you. You don't want anywhere near those weight loss drugs. If you don't take them forever, the weight comes back. And they can have some nasty side effects while you're taking them. Some insurance companies are cutting back what they will pay for them (if anything at all). The NC State Health Plan put out a notice to all of us that the only way they will pay for them going forward is if the subscriber is a confirmed diabetic. Frequent work travel can definitely mess with your routines, including exercise. I used to try to get a hotel with a good fitness facility (an indoor pool was a real perk for me) or find a hotel close to a Gold's Gym or other nice facility and then reward myself with a t-shirt from there if I worked out every day I was at the meeting or conference. At some conferences I had a friend or two and we would motivate each other to work out. It was a real push, though, even for me. I wonder if I could make labne from soy milk. Hmmmmmm..... Did you have "a nice chianti" with the fava beans (nod to Hannibal Lecter). Is it as easy as it sounds? I do sometimes eat veggies for breakfast, but I don't think that would be a breakfast for me either. I'll bet it was a good lunch, however. It would be good with falafal, too. I thought you might have pizza since it's National Pizza Day.
Linda, I hope your rain is gone. Did Minni just have her beard trimmed? Is she doing a lot better with grooming? I'll bet you're tired today, given everything you did yesterday. How's the Sees candy holding out?
"Below normal" temperatures, Kathy? I hope they won't be too far below, but it will be a nice change from what is coming for your area in a few months, if not sooner. Anything going on at the pond these days? Are you planning to watch the Super Bowl? We'll probably watch the first half. Go Niners!
I did a few kitchen things today but not much else. Probably being Friday and having to deal with the rainy weather has me kind of lazy. I did get some good news this afternoon. There is a newer alternate test for bone density that just got FDA approval in 2019 and then we know what happened in 2020, so it hasn't gained a great deal of popularity. There are only a couple on the east coast but one is east of Asheville and I was going to book an appointment for this summer. I found out a little while ago that the Osteo owner has made arrangements to bring it to us for a couple of days at the end of the month. It's an ultrasound (unlike Dexascan, which is basically an x-ray) and shows both density (like the Dexa) and quality (which Dexa does not). Nothing going on of note here this weekend. I did get ingredients to make another vegan quiche like we had for NYE, so I might do that. We are also stocking dinners for Arya in the freezer tomorrow, so that will involve cooking and roasting veggies and it tends to take a chunk out of the day.

Chele, LOL at the thought of someone daring to tell DM that she's ancient! Her older sister got quite indignant when someone from her gym was walking some new people through and pointed her out as one of their oldest members. I admire how organized you are with your recipes. I only copy them on the computer anymore, but I still have some in a drawer and a few cookbooks. I should clean that drawer out! Some of them are handwritten from my dad.
You'd have to weigh 100 lbs for 1 lb to be 1%, so I think we're all safe there. I think they're starting to find out a lot of side effects from the weight loss drugs, so that might be why your doc refused. I heard something yesterday about people losing too fast with them and then it comes back. The fava beans sound good, but it wouldn't be breakfast for me either. I do sometimes put some veggies with an omelet, but don't usually have them with breakfast. I guess it's just what you're used to, but I tend to associate fruit with breakfast. Glad you're not too sore. Yes, hurray for below normal temps next week for me at least! Hope it doesn't get too cold in your area.
Karen, we're going up into the 80s this weekend and then back to highs in the 60s for a couple of days, so nothing extreme. This was a really mild winter for us as far as temperatures go, although maybe a little cooler than normal thanks to all the clouds. I heard last night that they're expecting us to have a wetter than normal March. The pond has been pretty quiet the past couple of days. I guess the mergansers were just passing through. I'll be watching the Super Bowl. Go Chiefs! 🏈🏈🏈
Linda, hope the rain has disappeared. I don't mind getting showers, but I can definitely do without the hail we had the other night.

got errands done, books to Changing hands and bought a puzzle for me, unusual because they mostly sell White Mt 1000 pieces.
Dr said to use my blue topped Flonase but only one squirt each side and immediately do one squirt of a prescription antihistamine to keep inner open. Ihave neen getting spasms from it, nasty ache when you chew, right at top of jaw where it meets ear lobe. That is the bottom of the tube.Had no idea. We shall see and hope for the best. Tired of feeling like I just got off a plane with clogged ear and bad balance. bbl

It was just a beard trim. She had the big show dog look. But a boxy terrier cut looks cute and she seems happier.she really likes having her chin scratched now. She has looked way older and serious, but now she looks younger and more feminine. We had to wait over a week not wanting to bring dog with infection into a groomer.
the half box of Sees is still taped shut until Valentine's Day! We have been eating the small milk chocolate hearts wrapped in red foil.
rain comes back soon tonight and drags on all morning… knees are telling me.
Chele, I have heard a lot of bad stuff about those meds!
Downtown Flagstaff has has 32 inches of snow from this storm so far and Snobowl which is the ski resort near it had 55! Still snowing all across northern AZ. It gets over 6500 feet in altitude up there,
