This challenge was created fifteen years ago by a few Weight Watchers members. We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Success isn’t always measured at the scale. Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started. If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Had fun with Rosalie and Rosemary joined us to shop one place then had lunch with us. The restaurant waiter was rather rude not bringing a dish to Rosalie thinking, because she is black, that she was a maid...we were NOT happy with him and will not return to that restaurant in the future. I probably spent more money than I should have BUT found two pair of ankle height boots (booties) for ten dollars a pair. One was faux black and white snakeskin and the other was black with silver studs. I now have SIX pair of booties and wonder when I will wear them all! I also bought a bright blue and a black turtleneck sweater and a shocking pink v-neck sweater for a "pretty in pink" party. In another shop I found two pair of pajamas and some nylons then called a halt.
Today was laundry (still have some drying over chairs in the dining room) and errand running and there is more to do but...am going to read a bit more, write a review, and call it a day.
The scale is up after two days in a row of being off program and not sure what tomorrow will bring when I step on the scale. Hope to talk to our children and granddaughters this weekend.
BOOKS: The Western is NOT doing it for me. May have to skim and move on as it is rather boring...or at least it is for me.
Hope we all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Canners! Good to hear about your efforts and adventures Cathy! I have been stuck in a sugar and chip frenzy and am coming up for air today. I am so forgiving and find it easy to "wipe my slate clean" and yet..I seem to be rinsing and repeating sugar and chips today will be better.
I am busy thinking about and planning and preparing for travel and feel so so fortunate. Next trip is to South America on Feb 18th. Culture and new information is my passion these days. Stay warm, stay cool and stay healthy- enjoy the journey friends!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday positive peeps!! Checking in first before I get going to head down the mountain for a day at dad's. We'll be going through some more of mom's things, then having our super bowl party since mom's team (Chiefs) are on it. None of the rest of ours made it LOL (Lions, Packers, Rams, Steelers). Our storms started with 24+ hours of rain, finally turning to snow. Last storm I believe Thurs dumped about a foot at our end. It's a winter wonderland! Just praying the roads are not as icy by 9am when I want to leave. It is 11 degrees (feels like 0) though!! We celebrated 33 years on Friday, time flies!
I am 8 lb down from January at the moment. Would love to see 10 before Feb is over. Today's party will probably set me back a tiny bit, but I will try!! Stopping my eating by 6:30-7 is very helpful. Also I have been getting 10K plus in, yesterday 13k and trying to get out at least in the neighborhood several times a week. Lastly of course I'm still tracking daily. All of it is key to making progress.
Thinking of you all, waving like crazy. I will keep trying to get my buns in here on a more consistent basis. It helps to stay connected.
Happy Sunday! Nat

Checking in...have had spotty internet if internet at all. Today spent over an hour walking and an hour and a half in the car to get to the walking but did have fun with friends. Food NOT on program and hope that changes soon. Lost the clip that goes on my progressive glasses to make them sunglasses so am hoping the shop can find me another one to buy. Back on track...SOON!
BOOKS: Reading The Dollmaker by Mary Burton - it is about a sicko psycho serial killer that drugs women for weeks while he tattoos them to look like "dolls" and has his way with them before eventually killing then posing them for other to admire his handiwork. Hoping to finish it today and write the review.
Yes I can: Get back on program, make healthy choices, track it all, keep walking Yes I did: Kept the plan in mind while eating off plan - never gave up

such great successes Nat! Keep on- keeping on! I love all your behavior decisions! I am observing a disinterest in (my) healthy eating- a good topic of conversation for my counseling check in this week. I had a second lunch yesterday that included refills of full sugar coke.and no...I don't feel like it is "out of my system" .... Has that happened with any of you recently? Ugh! In good news.. 7 day countdown for south America adventure!

Have internet this morning so am checking in early. Today the sun is NOT shining as it did for our walk by the beach yesterday. I am back on program as of this morning. Scale is up but it will go down. It will be a good day!
Yes I Did: walk with friends in the sunshine, recommit to the program, stay positive, check in with support network Yes I Can: track every BLT, walk 30 minutes while reading, stay positive
BOOKS: Posted the review for the Mary Burton book and started reading a collection of five novella length historical romances. I will post the review this afternoon after reading one or two more and then move on to the next book. Awhile ago I was on the Jill Shalvis advanced readers crew but got bumped when our emails went to cyber-nomans land and disappeared. I didn't get the notices and didn't download books to review because I was blocked or something was going on. Today, the assistant to the author contacted me and asked if I would like to be added back to the crew and I said *YES* and hope to have no issues this time around. Do like her books! I have two books by S.M. West for the 15th so hmm...
Sally: How exciting to have another trip coming up soon!
EVERYONE: Here's to achieving our goals each day and those that are longer range!

Good Morning and ❤️ Happy Valentine's Day ❤️
It is a cool, gray, humid day that might offer up a bit of rain later. I am going to go to Maureen's for a bit this afternoon and Rosalie will be there, too. I don't think we will play cards because Maureen is unable to sit as her incision site continues to heal. It is an opportunity for me to wear something newly purchased so will either wear the brown dress with fleece lined tights and booties OR one of the new pullover sweaters. I also need to check with the optician to see if he found the clip-on piece I need for my progressive glasses to make then sunglasses.
Yes I Did: Stay OP, track every BLT, stay positive, walk 30 minutes while reading Yes I Can: make choices that see me OP again today, stay positive and decide if I need to skip a day of walking or if my knee is up to it and do the walking while reading
BOOKS: Wrote the review for a collection of historical romance novellas after reading three of the six stories...only one was GOOD - wonder if the other three are better than the two I wasn't thrilled with? I wanted to smack one couple that had been married over twenty years that separated so the husband could "set his wife free to write" and the wife who thought he didn't want her any more - the two NEVER talked and it was as frustrating for me as it must have been for them! The other story was about a stupid society chit that was the granddaughter of a duke getting ready for her first season who talks to a handsome gentleman at a house party, lets him kiss her in the conservatory, and THEN gives him her virginity (getting pregnant) without even knowing his name. I wondered if he had magic lips and fingers or if she was brainless...they do end up together but he was a jerk of the first water! I finished the prequel of a new series and am reading the first book in the series written by S.M. West - small town romance that has a second chance romance feel to it. Will write that review tonight then see what is up next.
Hope you all have a good sleep, wake refreshed in the morning, and have a nice Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day ❤️💖
Sally! Where will you go in S.America? Machu Pichu is on my bucket list... About that sugar, I have been overcome with cravings for sweet/empty carb foods lately. For me, the craving is for cheese danish or peanut butter candies, sort of comfort foods for me. No explanation, just self delusion.
Yes I DID: --get outside for walks! Found a little bit of sun each day despite colder temps --Sunday Brunch with galpals, lots of fun, food was OK but conversation was better --enjoy reconnecting (online) with an old friend & looking forward to continuing that.
Yes I CAN: --get more sleep. #1 priority for this week. --get outside every day for at least a short walk --focus on decluttering one room a little every day
Be well! Carol

Happy Day! I am with you girls on the carb cravings! Mine is probably a little stress as I have a lot going on in the next few months. Finally got in to see the Knee Doc yesterday and will be getting my knee replaced in April or May. Meanwhile, dog sitting, several sets on houseguests, and lots of pre surgery stuff to get done. I must take my own advice and remember that Mantra: : It's all happening perfectly. Nat: So proud of you for the 8lb loss! That is fantastic. You are doing it! Please send WL vibes my way. Cathy: Lots of cute new clothes! Those booties sound like a great deal. I can't resist a bargain. Hope your internet is back on. Carol: Need to take a tip from you and get together with some of my gal pals. Just being around them calms me down. Sally: Are you nervous about this trip? Stress and salty crunchy cravings go together. Did your LA son feel the earthquake the other day? There have been lots of them in So Cal this month. I personally haven't felt any of them but have put my flashlight and shoes out by my bed lately at night. Emergency kit is always ready. Janet: Hope you're not working too hard! Need to get here every day. Sweet Dreams. Jan
