Sorry you are clogged, Linda. I’m glad you found your hearing aid before Minni did.
I scored 13 on the above.
We had 3.5 inches of snow fall. The sun came out, so a lot of it is melting. We should be close to 60° by Wednesday. The sinuses cleared up with the cold and the end of precipitation.
Kathy, smoke is terrible for the sinuses. We don’t use the fireplace because of it. I hope it has cleared up for you. I have not received a senior discount for home owner’s insurance. I’ll have to look into that. Our Ohio Republican house and senate did away with property tax discounts for seniors. There used to be a significant drop once you turned 65.
Karen, sorry about the clogged tear ducts and hope you can have the non surgical correction. Those eye dilation drops last for hours and hours. I didn’t find any typos.

Thanks for the start, Chele. WOW on the snow! Sounds you won't have it for long though. We just got rain, but the nearby mountains got some snow. YAY on sinus improvement. Of course your state house got rid of property tax discounts for seniors. Why am I not surprised? I'm amazed you didn't find any typos because I was still really blurry when I posted. No problems today, however, beyond the fact that the tear duct problem makes my eyes more watery. I hope it will be an easy fix when I can get in to see the guy. We had a fireplace at the last house and there were so many problems with it that we intentionally didn't have one installed here, which didn't make the contractor very happy because it was in the original plans so he had to work around it. We figured with the generator, it was just an unnecessary expense, plus the soot and the added potential fire risk.
Linda, good thing you found that hearing aid. Those things are so small that they are easily lost and never seen again. I got a perfect score on your quiz. We had a Coke vending machine in my dorm freshman year that dispensed the 8 oz glass bottles. We had a stack of crates next to the machine and when the guy came to refill, he removed (and I hope they recycled) all those crates of glass bottles. Growing up our exchange was "Linden 7" and both sets of grandparents had a "Cedar 2" exchange. They were big on trees where I grew up. I still have quite a few 33 RPM records and even more 45 RPM ones. Both grandmothers had wringer washing machines and every time they would remind me not to get my fingers too close. I wonder how many hundreds of times I heard that. Hope you're feeling better and the congestion has eased some.
How are things with the controlled burn, Kathy? Did you get the cooler temps they told you to expect? We haven't gotten out of the 30s so far, and were in the 50s yesterday. Is this Daytona 500 weekend? Does your area get overflow from that?
Busy day here. Bed is changed, washed, and remade. I made a pot of potato and mushroom soup with about 1/2 lb of shiitakes Dale pulled off my logs yesterday. Arya has oats for breakfasts as well as a batch of PB biscuits baking at the moment. We had a little bit of a rough night due to the wind, but Arya did stay in bed so that was good. The wind finally died down about 2am and we all konked out after that. We do have partly sunny skies with a few clouds around. We are officially in college baseball season, and major league preseason games start next week. Summer's coming....

Chele, that's a lot of snow! It's been raining today so the air is nice and clear. The smoke was really thick Thursday night and into Friday. We have a senior property tax discount, but you have to be under a certain income to get it. I didn't ask for the discount on the homeowner's insurance, but it's only about 0.5%, so don't get too excited! Still worth checking into though.
Karen, we've been getting quite a bit of rain today, but they're hoping it will clear out in time for the Daytona 500 tomorrow. We don't get any overflow from that here, but I'm sure some of them head over to the theme parks. Not only did we need the rain, but it also seems to have cleared the smoke out. I don't think we got out of the 50s today, but it's not going to cool down that much more. The record stores started Record Store Day a few years ago to bring people into the stores. It's been a big success and a lot of people are collecting the special Record Store Day releases on vinyl. Funny how things come back around. Summer is one thing I don't want to see anytime soon! Hope they can find an easy fix for the tear ducts.
Linda, I scored a 10 on the quiz. Vinyl records are all the rage again and my nephew has a growing collection. I do remember phone numbers before we had to dial the area code, but I never had a party line or one with the prefix. My sister and I used to paste the green stamps into the books. I used to love Tab soda in the glass bottles. My eye doctor prefers Xiidra over Restasis, but it's very expensive. Medicare drug plans are starting to cover it though and I've found a few that are a little less than $50/box. It's the same situation where you can get 4 to 5 drops out of the vials. I think the donut hole goes away next year, so that should help. Six boxes of Xiidra will put me into it this year, but I've stocked up as much as I can before Medicare hits. Glad you found that hearing aid!

I scored 18!
We actually got furniture with green stamps when we were first married and still in college!
Chele, glad your head cleared up. Mine never gets all the way any more and spring allergies are just starting. the weeds are too!
AZ has senior tax discount but really low income level.
Nice that Arya is finally sleeping in! I am waiting to see how it goes when it starts getting light before five. Another reason to avoid daylight savings.
did a bit of pruning in the back and more weeding. Yesterday left foot arch and right knee were competing for pain. Today just right knee. But I managed a quick grocery trip and very slow and short dog walk.
Recipe from Farmer's kitchen book (even fermenting, preserving, curing meat, etc) oven fried chicken is almost baked to go with leftover creamed peas and little potatoes. Then when it comes out , the sour cherry cobbler goes in. I cheat and use a tube of biscuits when tired.

Kathy, I wondered if you were getting some rain. The Lady Vols softball team was playing in a tournament somewhere in Central FL and their games got canceled yesterday. I think they play your Noles this evening. I know what you mean about vinyl. I have quite a collection that moved with me every time I relocated. There were times that was the bulk of what I moved, from a poundage perspective. Somehow I don't think 8-tracks or cassettes will be coming back into vogue because they are just too fragile. I remember the days when I could buy 5 albums for about what people pay for 1 these days.
How much snow do you have left, Chele? Liz got some additional inches. Fortunately, she will be working remotely again this week. What's on the menu for this week?
Linda, how are you feeling today? I guess "just" having knee pain is an improvement, given what you've been dealing with lately. Did you get all the weeding and pruning done yesterday. I know--is it ever done? Arya slept past 7am this morning. That was nice. That was definitely an old-fashioned dinner you had yesterday. How was the cobbler?
Not as busy today as yesterday. Workout clothes are in the dryer, sourdough is cooling on the counter, and Dale has a pot of minestrone ready for his dinner this evening. Lady Vols basketball game is on and the baseball team plays in a few hours. So that's my plan for the rest of the day.

Karen, it's been raining nonstop since yesterday afternoon. It's been a steady rain with no severe weather. You probably saw that they had to postpone the Daytona 500 due to the weather. The rain is supposed to move out sometime tomorrow. 8-tracks were a strange thing since they never sounded that great and they were bulky compared to cassettes. Cassettes were cheap, but didn't hold up well, so I think you're right on those not coming back. That's good that Liz can work from home.
Hope everyone has a good evening!

Karen, enjoy your sports viewing. We made vegetarian reubens today with homemade potato pancakes. We have some frozen veggie soup, stiffed zucchini and chili for the week.
Linda, how’s the knee today? Did you rest up today? I hope you are not too clogged up.
Kathy, my GF’s son has a vinyl collection. I am leaving him my records in my will as I think he is the only one who will appreciate them.
The snow has been melting in the sun today, even though it only got up to 34°. We had tons of birds at the feeder today. The woodpeckers, mourning doves, wrens and nuthatches were back after being missing for awhile. Our regular visitors, the finches, sparrows and chickadees and those blessed starlings were here as well and we had a surprise visit from a red winged blackbird. We haven’t seen one of those all winter. I guess they think spring is coming early and flew back from vacation early.

I advise against using. Tube biscuits on cobbler instead of batter. Wrong flavor! But the fruit part wa# great.
the oven fried chicken was best I have ever made ..will have to get the book and type in the recipe.
there is NO end to weeding in Spring in AZ…
Glad Liz stayed home this week.
tree changed from Christmas to Easter eggs today..bit more to go. I wish it were not 7.5 feet. I wish I had not started this! DH loves it. I am the one who has to do it. Sigh.
hummingbirds are hear all year. I get nasty little sniping if I sit in the chair in patio closest to the feeder.
knee…still hurts ,now in two places, but not as bad unless I try to walk dog faster.the problem is waking up with nasty pain down outside back of the leg .today it was kind of like sciatica but not exactly. , It helps to do hamstring stretch but not completely. I could hardly walk this morning…strangely it went away completely. after bathroom BM. Something must push against a disk.
No idea what to do. shots used to work for a while. Advil helps, a lot but that can set off diverticulitis and damage kidneys Tylenol works somewhat but really do not want to destroy my liver. I keep on using the arnica. Cream compound which helps. If I could do more PT it would help. Surely do not want surgery.
Chele, what is in vegan Rueben’s?
