Hi Friends,
February is just zipping by fast. We have light snow falling but nothing big and no roads impacted. Sort of like a little snow globe image. :-)
We had tickets to see The Cowboy Junkies in concert last night, but DH was not up to going. He had a root canal yesterday and was wiped out between the meds and not resting well the night before. I tried to give the tickets away as they were great seats and sort of spendy, but it was too late a notice. It's okay - I look at it as a donation to the arts. What can you do?
I had a chat with the brother of my friend Dianne who is in hospice. He flew up from FL yesterday and that's good She is not talking much at this point and in pain so family is what she needs. They have her medicated pretty well and we don't expect she will last more than a few days. I'm very sad as she has been my peer and longtime friend. Her brother said that "you should know that Dianne valued her friendships at the highest level and if you were her friend, you were her friend for life." I thought that was so well said and so true of Dianne. We are all heartbroken. She was a very unique and somewhat quirky person, but one I admire more than most anyone for her resilience, intelligence and kindness. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for her to have a peaceful and accepting passage. She is not afraid and seems very calm and at peace. I spent a lot of time thinking of her last night. I guess I thought she would always be with us.
Pam, I am SO sorry that your sore throat is back again. Sometimes, things seem to rebound. I'm glad Olga took care of the house so you don't need to worry about that. Big help. Hope they find the right meds and get you feeling up to snuff soon.
Sue, glad you had fun with friends. Sounds great!
Have a good day all. I am off to pick up my blueberry order and go to the library where three books are on hold for me :-) Big "do-ins" for me today! ha ha
