Hi All,
I am getting a jump on the weekend! It's been quite a week. Very exhausting with the loss of our friend and lots going on at work. I went to TOPS today and I find it very supportive. Today our topic was to mention large and small things that bring us gratitude. I heard lots of inspiring comments. I added a story about my friend and how grateful I am to have known her and had her in my life for 16 years. My weight was down a smidge so I'll take it.
I made chili for dinner - a frequent meal around here! Quick and good. I have finished the Tana French book and loved it.
Pam, I am so sorry you had the delayed diagnosis of COVID. I hope your DH is doing okay. How do you feel now? Maybe you had it and then rebounded or had it just after the strep. It is definitely going around again up here, too. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
My DH is finally rounding the corner on the end of the antibiotics that caused so many stomach issues. He ate well today. Phew. I was beginning to get very worried.
Sue, hope all is well with you! Glad you DH had good test results. At least that is what I think I remember!
I heard from dear Ann in an email. She sends her hello and best to all of us. She just cannot see well enough to post often so I hope she can come in an read our notes when she is able. We miss her!!
Have a good night all. Off to watch more of a wacky new show I discovered called Resident Alien. It is on netflix and received 98% on Rotten Apples. Funny and a good break from heavy drama I usually watch on Britbox. :-)

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I have had a great week so far. I've accomplished everything I wished and feel good about it.
Ann ~ Thinking of you and wishing you well.
Judy ~ So glad your DH is recovering. That is such a worry! Also congrats on the loss at TOPS. Sticking to it is key to the whole thing. So sorry about the loss of your friend, but how great that she went peacefully.
Pam ~ So sorry to hear about your COVID diagnosis. Hopefully you are recovering and your DH as well.
Yesterday I took the afternoon off after school except for some paperwork, and then sat down for a bit.
Today my Fitness Buddy came over to show me how to put together and use my new earphones for my (very old) iPod in anticipation of beginning to walk again. They are going to be perfect and I am looking forward to using them. While she was here she filled me in on her DH's cancer diagnosis and the choices they now have to make. It was a good talk and she appreciated the extra input.
Now I have the rest of the day free and think I will call my VBF at the hospital and maybe go see her if she is up to it. She had her back surgery yesterday and when she is stable they'll undertake the hand surgery. Meanwhile, she has some cracked ribs and bruised sternum to heal. They're talking about keeping her for inhouse rehab which would be good.
We have a beautiful 40 dg sunny day outside. DH hung a new bird feeder on our patio and I can watch the birds out my door wall.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi all and happy Saturday!
Sue, oh my goodness! Your friend really was hurt badly in the accident needing back and hand surgery. Poor thing! And cracked ribs too. Thank God she’s going to be okay. That sounds very serious. Hope you get to see her I’m glad you got your ear buds fixed for walking.
Nothing big on tap for us today. We’re going out to lunch. We are both in the mood for a good burger at a local fun restaurant.
I’m reading a new book now by Anne Cleeves. I love her books and the Vera series on britbox.
Tomorrow is my book club meeting and I’m looking forward to it.
Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! I got my house in order yesterday, so have some free time today. I slept very well last night and in fact slept in an extra hour this morning.
We have another sunny 40 dg day but it promises to get colder, with an eventual high of only 32. After today it will warm up for the next week or so.
DH and I are planning to go out for Brunch tomorrow, and hope to get DBIL to go with us. He has been to the cardiologist and they have accepted him into the program for insertion of a TAVR valve in the next few weeks. Apparently they only do them on Tuesdays and are limited to two each week, so he is on the list but it may be a few weeks. In the meantime, he has to sell his house and move into an apartment. His daughter found a Senior (55+) place near her and us, and it looks really nice. DBIL has not been driving, so we will plan to pick him up if he wants to go.
I am going to do a few computer things today and then check back in.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing okay. Pam, are you feeling better? Sue, hope brunch was good today.
We had a nice day yesterday. Lunch out at a great burger spot and then we watched more of The Crown last night. I started it a long time ago and then fell off for several years. DH is liking it, too.
I have a pot roast in the Instant Pot now with beef from the farm. I also have my book club at 4 pm. There will be a lot of snacky type things there but I want to eat something before I head out to avoid TOO much temptation.
Sunshine is beautiful today but it is C-O-L-D!! In the 20s I believe. But, seeing sun sure helps.
Have a great Sunday all...I'll check in later.

Hello friends! I wish I could report that I am all well, but that is not the case. Today is Day 10 and the last day I had to wear a mask in public, thank goodness. I had forgotten how uncomfortable the N-95 mask is. Unfortunately, my sinus congestion lingers on. I am doing the Neil Med rinse and hoping that and time will get things back to normal. I am also still coughing at times. I get a tickle in my throat and cough until the tears run. I had to step outside during Mass this morning and cough it out. I still don't have my energy back and spend most of the day in the lazy boy. I did take a couple of walks this week, one with Deb and one alone. Both left me really tired, so I am not pushing it. Today, I went out and partially weeded a flower bed, watered my indoor plants, filled the bird feeder, cooked dinner and cleaned the kitchen and started on tomorrow's laundry. It's the most I have accomplished in weeks! DH doesn't sound as congested as I do, but is also lacking energy. I guess it just takes time.
My therapist was also sick so no OT this week. I'm pretty sure she gave it to me, as she told me last week that her husband came back from their vacation with Covid last Tuesday, but we'll never know, as it's everywhere here and most people don't take the recommended precautions, such as wearing a mask. I decided I can't control what others do, but will do what I think is right, hence the annoying mask until Day 10. I restart OT tomorrow.
Sorry to be such a downer! I promise to cheer up soon. Just sitting around day after day thinking about all the activities I have had to miss makes me depressed. That's another reason I am trying to be more active.
Judy - Glad to hear your DH is feeling better. I just finished reading Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica and it is a very good mystery, if you haven't read it.
Sue - I feel so sorry for your VBF! Just the cracked ribs would be bad enough. Been there, done that and it was worse pain than childbirth. With all of her injuries, skilled rehab sounds like a good choice for her. They will help her get moving again safely. I hope DBIL made it to brunch. I'm sure your company would be very good for him at this point in his long wait for surgery.
