Prayers still going up for those in the path of storms... many, MANY prayers... there are many, MANY storms... and fires, too, that never seem to go away...
Prayers for all our loved ones who are in particular need...

Get your mug of morning beverage of choice if you are brave enough to read this...
Yesterday was IN-ter-est-ing. The great part is that Pippin had his spa day and Miss Elaine loves him so much that she puts up with his antics (he gives her a hard time about his front feet, which is hysterical since we can play with his front feet all day and he doesn't care). He came home pretty much "on schedule" a bit after 1 PM, all sweet-smelling and floofy. I worked on the lists for the weekend. My lists have lists. They are triaged. In colored pens. Some things are MUST do, and they WILL get done. Some things are SHOULD do, and they MIGHT get done. Some things can be DEFERRED and will NOT get my attention until Monday afternoon. At least those things "made the list" ππ€£.
I was up until after midnight working on something for the Kressling's Young Marines Honorable Discharge ceremony. It's still a work in progress, but I looked at it this morning and I think I can "sign off" on this stage of it. The next stage is color print-outs, along with program covers for tomorrow. The YM-AV "copy person" that we had is now limited in what she can do at work - perfectly reasonable, I'll just work around it. Despite the VERY complex Saturday list, I slept soundly so I'm starting today off feeling pretty good.
Today I'll work on YM stuff pretty much exclusively. EXCLUSIVELY <do you hear me, MB & T?! π§>. βοΈ I have the Kressling's BDUs to press up and deliver to the OTHER Tall Boy, with DGK's blessing; he will wear his USAR uniform to the ceremony. βοΈ I will go to FedEx Office and get my copies done, and then finish the programs here (covers are color, content is B&W - no reason to pay for more than the color print job). βοΈ I will packPackPACK the various bits for Saturday - all the stuff that comes from the Quartermaster's Store, AKA the bedroom that serves as warehouse. βοΈ There's all the "usual gear" for the quarterdeck, plus our big banner for the ceremonies (and a special stand since the other one is problematic). βοΈ The refreshments are planned and there's a setup crew for that. βοΈ We're also doing the photo op for the 2/14 Have-a-Heart Food Challenge at drill, so what we have needs to be tallied and then (depending on tonight's temps) pre-loaded into GracieTOO. βοΈ We'll be practicing with the street-size American flag so THAT has to be packed. βοΈ The recruits will have their review and final exam but we won't need the entire Trainers Box for that (one less box); however, we WILL need all the bits for recruit graduation. βοΈ Montford Point Marines have all their own gear so there's nothing we bring for them. I need to check whether the school got the overhead projector working in Caf 2, though. They have a presentation and we had a problem with it at Weds drill.
Just a few little things on one of the lists... π€
We have some dinner options. The Kressling's sleeping here tonight so I expect that we'll be feeding him dinner, probably his favorite Italian take-away plus a sandwich for Saturday's mid-day chow. Toots & I have leftovers from Wednesday night plus a couple of ShopRite treasures to choose from. Whether I stay "meatless" or not is debatable. I'm definitely subbing in "good deeds".
Coffee... β... morning prayer... no sunbeam in sight, so a candle may be needed...
πππππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππππ
MauiπΊBoy & T:
On Tuesday evening she sent a message that there was a very important (and it is) file to review and that I would have it by Thursday morning, first thing.
On Wednesday evening she sent a message that she and V had not gotten it done so it would be available later on Thursday.
I did look at it yesterday afternoon and made some "suggestions" - because there are, apparently, certain parameters in the new marketing plan (and I do NOT know what they are) so I shouldn't directly edit π§ so V can review first - let's add more levels of nonsense, eh? So there are a couple of things that I need to know - like whether it's just the Chat GPT's lack of nuanced vocabulary that has the SAME WORD REPEATED SEVEN TIMES (in EACH email) or if it's one of the "special guidelines" that making the reader sick of seeing the word is "good". <meh>.
The videos that are needed for the product are not yet done. EC says he can get to them this weekend. I'll believe it when I see them. I can't finish the PRODUCT emails without seeing / hearing what they say, since it will be different from the first 3 product releases.
Late last night I was informed that they are adding a footer to the Weekly emails (got those done, too) with an "opt out" - it was not live when I logged off (mind you, that was after midnight my time).
Yup. That's why I spent some time π± screaming π± yesterday.

Internet is still wonky. I sometimes just have to give up and return later and hope I will eventually be able to send emails, download books, upload reviews, etc.
Today Mounah wanted to find a shop but didn't want to go inside because it had too many people inside so we kept going. Lunch was pizza and fries (oh my!) so dinner will be lighter fare. I have a few options out on the bed to look at to wear with the shocking pink v-neck sweater for the Pretty in Pink luncheon tomorrow and will paint my nails pink, too. Rosalie will drive so that is nice and means I can indulge in a bit of wine. The scale was steady this morning but have a feeling it might go up by Sunday morning (if not before) with two consecutive days eating out!
It was nice seeing Maureen and Rosalie yesterday and our discussion was definitely interesting. Another interesting thing was that both Rosalie and I were wearing brown. Many times the two of us show up in the same color without prearranging to do so.
I am hoping there was enough sunshine today and yesterday to provide hot water for a shower in the morning...fingers crossed, for sure!
Thinking of all of you and hoping you have a good day!

Susi Smart strategy to practice using the sling in advance. Much easier to figure out some general movements & procedures. I did the same before the bunion surgery. I worked out the angles for our small bathroom, for example. Being loopy after the surgery, I appreciated my pre planning. Hope that some of your weekend includes some fun activities.
Ann Waving hi! Wishing you, Carl, and Benjamin all of lifeβs best.
MJ lol. . . Gotta love a well conceived master plan consisting of 3 lists of differentiated levels based on degree of necessity. And the staging is another plus. You would have approved of my strategy for gathering & staging all of the NYCβs crew bits & pieces for packing. (I know that N & Amy did). Dare I say that the YMs will miss you when you turn over your leadership position? (I forgot exactly when you said that you would. Although I recall that you were not resigning immediately after DGKβs ceremony). Nice that Pippin is all fluffy and groomed from the feet up! What a really considerate gesture for Kressling to give his dress blue uniform to a new recruit. And his AReserve uni is a quite fitting for the ceremony. O.M.G. Did you resemble the man in the famous painting, βThe Scream?βGlad that you could let off some steam and focus on what could be managed. The MB roll out would be a hysterical situation if you were an observer rather than a participant.
Cathy Wonderful that you have dear friends with which to gather, chat, eat, drink, and be merry. How fun that you & Rosalie are in-sync with your clothing choices. Mounahβs caution makes a lot of sense during flu/cold season. Better to go back to the store another time. If the scale treads upward, at least you know why and you know what to do. You have a good approach to balancing out at home days and social days.

My day went a little sideways. Got wrapped up with a problematic health ins. bill. Geez. . . I cannot understand why coding a PSA test correctly is difficult. I just donβt. And yet, here we go again. In retrospect I regret ruffling feathers at the drβs office today, I know that they are never wrong in their eyes. Itβs time to wind up Rβs dealings w/ this office and find a new PCP for him. Did accomplish some tasks on my list. Yay me!

O.M.G. Did you resemble the man in the famous painting, βThe Scream?β Indeed! Glad that you could let off some steam and focus on what could be managed. Today, for example, they get NO TIME from me since they answered the questions I asked at 7 PM last night today after 2:30 PM. My lists-upon-lists don't include MB-time.
The MB roll out would be a hysterical situation if you were an observer rather than a participant. It still might go that way. They work on things for days and days and then give it to me to polish up and turn around in maybe 24 hours and then if I have questions the answers aren't timely (and no way am I pulling an all-nighter).
