Good Morning, WW Friends ~
We have quite cold weather but the sun is shining. DH and I went to the hospital to visit with VBF yesterday. Her hubby took advantage of it by scooting out to visit their pups who are temporarily housed with their grown daughter, while we kept VBF company. She is a black and blue mess pretty much, but starting to feel more like herself. They have signed her up for 10-14 days of inhouse rehab.
I am back to school today and may go in a bit early because we're missing one person on our team today, and may or may not have a sub for her.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi all,
Sue, thanks for starting us out. I am feeling so sorry for your VBF. Wow, she really was hurt badly. I hope a couple weeks of rehab will get her moving again. She is fortunate to have a good pal like you and I am sure your visit to the hospital cheered her up a lot. Have a good day at school and I hope that you don't get too worn out by the kiddos if you are shorthanded.
Pam, so sorry you are still under the weather. I agree on the N95 masks. How did we ever wear them so long? I have one colleague who still wears one all the time. I don't know how she does it. The pandemic really took a toll on her mentally and she is just afraid to take it off though she has had Covid. I feel for her really.
My book club was a lot of fun and both the conversation and food was great. We chose a new book based on a true story called Frozen River. There is a VERY long wait at the library for it and on Libby or ebook lists. I may have to break down and buy it. It sounds great!
Work has been busy - lots of meetings and scheduling. My boss is having knee surgery this week - just found out today so I am juggling lots of events for him.
Have a great day all. My WI was up today a bit and I know why! Book club treats and an ice cream last night. It's okay. I am going light on carbs for a few days. History has shown me that it makes a big difference for me. :-)

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! It is Election Day here so schools are closed for students. I don't work when the kiddos are not there, so I have a day off. I made a lunch date with my niece (who I don't see nearly enough of) and will be meeting her and her granddaughter later. She chose a place I really like, so it's really a win-win!
I also made a date to visit with VBF afterward. She has three therapy sessions today, but they all end up by 2 p.m. so I told her I'd come after my lunch and visit with her. She is currently undergoing OT (x2) and PT but they give her her schedule first thing every morning (it varies). I do enjoy going there because we usually spend more time together. I feel so helpless at her condition :-(
We are predicted to have terrible storms later today and into the evening. Our high will be mid-60's but by Thursday it will be high of only mid 30's. That will create some very unstable air!
Judy ~ You have a great attitude toward WI and I applaud you! We know what to do and just need to get back to it when the occasion arises. You are definitely a winner! Sorry your boss dumped the extra work load on you. How are your plans for retirement going?
Pam ~ I do hope you start feeling better soon! Thanks for the good wishes regarding DBIL. I wish he would get out some, but he seems resigned to stick it out at home. At least he has renewed his subscription to Meals On Wheels, so he has groceries in the house. On a brighter note, he agreed to go see the Senior Living Apartments nearby and has an appointment to go today. Fingers crossed for a good report.
I am entertaining the idea of going to Meijer to grocery shop, but whenever there is a storm brewing the store is packed, so I may wait until the end of the week. I don't see anything on my list that I need urgently. We have Alfredo sauce that our cook at school sent home with me, so I may cook some noodles to go with it. We also have leftover ribeye steak from Brunch on Sunday that we can eat tomorrow.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue, enjoy your day off today. Nice to have a break to visit with your niece and her DGD. So glad you are able to spend time with your VBF, too. I KNOW that your presence cheers her up. How could it not? I feel for her - I really do. Must be very hard to see her all banged up and hurting. Glad she will be okay with PT helping. I haven't done much yet in the way of making retirement plans but I do aim for summertime. My problem is that I like having a set schedule and reason to get up and accomplish things on a daily basis. I thrive on that routine for the most part. I just need to find some good alternatives and not feel afraid of the change. I know you continue to work as well, Sue, so you probably understand my viewpoint. I have a very generous vacation schedule of nearly six weeks off - and so much wfh flexibility. Pros and cons, right? It would be lovely to have each day all to myself and DH, though. Speaking of work, tomorrow we are due to have big storms here so I will stay home and skip my usual trek to campus. I don't want to drive in bad weather and I generally get as much, if not more, done at home. Daisy is back from the groomer. She had a deluxe treatment today. Hair trim and luxury shampoo and conditioning along with her combing and grooming. She lives the life and is snoozing now - worn out from pampering. They trim her nails, brush her teeth, clean her eyes and ears. Ha! I am working on more weeding out of stuff - clothing, shoes, paperwork, old makeup, pantry items, etc. Even though we moved after the pandemic, I still have older makeup and stuff from before the pandemic. They say these things have expiration dates, but they don't seem to go bad to me. I hate throwing out usable stuff but wonder what you all think. Do you toss personal care lotions or makeup like lipstick and foundation after a certain time? I also have loads of things still in the basement to sort through and donate - blankets, sheets, tablecloths, small appliances and serving pieces, etc. Two homes - my mom's and ours makes for too much stuff. I got rid of so much but still have a lot to do. Waving to Pam. Hope you are feeling better gradually. How is your DH? Hope he is not too sick, either. I am off tonight to a newcomer's club dinner and game night with a bunch of ladies. I don't know any of them, but I need to branch out and meet people. It's a prime rib dinner and an assortment of card and game tables. I may just eat and head home if there is not a card game I know. I grew up loving cards, but haven't played in years and years. TTFN
