Karen, I hope you had a good class today.
Linda, I hope you and Bob are doing well today.
Kathy, with the 80s I’m sure everything is in bloom. Lovely but treacherous for eyes and sinuses.
I had a sleepless night because we were expecting severe thunderstorms (in February!). I finally fell asleep but was awakened at 4:15 by a phone alarm with a tornado warning. We stayed in the basement until 5 am. It bypassed us and went for Springfield which is east of us. The base had some hangar damage but we got lucky. We only received 0.25 inches of rain. We have strong winds now but the tornado threat is gone.
Our city discontinued the outside warning sirens because they were “too expensive.” Iggy swears that we still have them and they are tested once a month. This is coming from the man who can’t hear. I don’t argue the point any more as it is a losing battle. He says “you can hear the mail truck every day but not the sirens.” 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😡

Chele, why is it those tornado alarms always seem to be in the middle of the night? Glad that it missed you and didn't do much damage in your area. Our high is supposed to be 85 today, so I'll probably have to put the AC on. We're expecting some thunderstorms this weekend, but not so surprising with the warmer temperatures. Lol on Iggy claiming there are still sirens even if he can't hear them. There is only one town in this area with sirens. Their argument here is that the sound doesn't travel far enough to justify the expense since it's so flat.
Karen, I must've been suffering from some wishful thinking yesterday when I said DeSantis was out this election cycle. He's serving his last term, but our next election for governor isn't until 2026. I have no idea who will run the next time. Hope you have a good class.
Linda, hope you got a good night's sleep and are having a good day.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Sorry about your sleepless night. I know those middle-of-the night warning calls don't make us happy, but I guess they are a necessary evil. Happy to hear that you sustained no damage. We were fortunate that our severe storms hit this afternoon and not during the night. I got home from class about 15 minutes before they hit. The outdoor furniture got blown around quite a bit and the dog almost joined me in the shower (with the water running), but I think we otherwise fared well, too. I think Gatlinburg is the only place here that still has outdoor sirens. You're right that there's no sense trying to argue your point. If he wants to hear the sirens in his head once a month, he will.
Linda, our regular instructor was back and so were the students who left in protest last week. It was good to see them. How's the leg today? Hip to ankle pretty much covers all the bases. I hope you have recovered. How is Bob doing after his latest incident?
85° is way too warm even for you this time of year, Kathy. It does seem that DeSantis started his second term a few years ago, but he was already running for president then, so I guess it seems longer ago than it actually was. Some of the people in your legislature who have been pushing for the hard right issues like book bans could be very scary as governor. Hopefully you'll have some "normal" people deciding to run. But we need some at other positions even before that (like president).
I was sore from the greenhouse and kept the electric mattress pad on most of the night, which seemed to help the muscles but it was too warm for the rest of me. Our cold front is coming through right now and we've already dropped 20+ degrees since I got home. So I may need the heat for more than sore muscles tonight. It was 73° when I got home. I have my bone scan ultrasound before Osteo tomorrow and then will be taking a trip to TJ's.

Chele, yikes! Not a good night. I do not remember tornadoes in Ohio or NY when I was growing up , even to 1981 when we moved. Not a nice change.
Karen, great to have your teacher back. During COVID my art teacher moved on to a better job, and at the Y the great yoga chair teacher left and my tai chi one disappeared and the class did too. Going to try yoga class again ,maybe tomorrow depending on leg and DH. He stopped taking the Advil and only took one Tylenol all day because he was fine sitting, but boy did that change by supper and moving around. From all to nine, not a good plan. I have him on track tucked in with a warm microwave bed buddy.
these things are essentially tubes of rice you heat and take to bed with you. I have made smaller ones for dsil's trigeminal neuralgia. You sew a tube of cloth , put in rice, see across, the add rice, etc, it makes sections that way so rice does not shift. The bought ones do not have divisions. Could do a round one or square I imagine. The rice holds heat without icky fragrance.
His blood test was good. Phew. No sign of return if cancer. He has been though a lot.
I wonder if that is why this month my BP suddenly went up? The dr was pleased with the results after a week.tonight it was 89/69? I think I got dehydrated running around and doing my chores and his before cleaner comes tomorrow and dropped after I heard good news. Gotta drink more water . BP is a bit of a mystery to me.
