Happy Leap Year - tomorrow! It is a wild and windy day here and we have lost power briefly twice.
I'll keep this short in case it happens again. Busy day for me - and I had fun at my first Newcomer's Club Prime Rib dinner last night. I sat with four lovely ladies - three were widows and it made me sad in some ways. The other of a similar age is divorced but all great company.
Hope you all had a good day. I will check in tomorrow!

Happy Leap Year, all.
I am back from my weekly TOPS group and down another lb. I'll take it! It was a good meeting - topic of macro nutrients so educational.
I'm back to work now but will check in soon. Hope everyone is doing well

Hello Cafe friends!
I made it to my credit union meeting last night and had a nice dinner out afterwards. It was my first time meeting our new board members in person. Of course the restaurant food sent the scale up this morning, but oh well!
I went to OT this morning and was pleased that I have made some progress. I still have several more weeks, so it’s encouraging.
We’ve been having wifi outages lately and had our second service call in a week this morning. He thinks the problem is finally resolved. We shall see. Now Olga is busy cleaning the front of the house while DH and I chill in our bedroom.
I think dinner tonight will be leftover ribs and potato salad with a side to be determined. We have leftover mustard greens and green beans or fresh asparagus.
Hope you are all staying warm. We went from a high of 80 degrees yesterday to 52 today. I have to check the weather before getting dressed every morning, lol.
Have a great day!

Great to see you, Pam, and so glad you are doing better. We have had a big drop in temps today. It is very cold and windy but at least the sun is out.
I am extra tired today. We lost power around 2:30 am and back on about 6 am. Since I have the CPAP machine, I wake up instantly when I can't breathe. A short nap is in order later on...
DS and family are coming to visit this weekend and will be here about dinner time. I am gong to see what I can rustle up for a gluten free meal for all of us. I have DDIL's cookware here. She has to use separate everything when it comes to cooking.
I managed to get weed out a lot of expired and older personal care stuff, meds and makeup yesterday. Felt good to pare down some of that stuff to organize the shelves and drawers better. I had some stuff I just have not used and some was pre-pandemic. Next I need to get into the closets.
We bought a new full length mirror on a swivel the other night. It is a nice one and came from an antique shop at a great price. I really needed it in the bedroom. DH also loves to look at the estate sales - he saw a nice suitcase stand for bedrooms since we have a lot of company in the summer. I hate for them to have stow suitcases on the floor. Not easy on guests.
That's it for now! BBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! This always feels like my "extra" day. I have a dental appointment at noon to have some restorative work done by my new dentist. I really like him and he has earned my trust, so that's a big plus!
We have had the same strange weather as the rest of you. There was a50 degree drop from Wednesday to Thursday, and more last night. Today it is back in the 30's but at least sunny.
I went to the gas station and filled my car after school yesterday, then went to Meijer and fulfilled my shopping list (plus a few extras) then brought them home and put them away. I purchased a rotisserie chicken while I was there and we had it for supper last night. DH tossed a salad to go with the chicken, then we pulled it off the bone to top our salad bowls, then he put the remainder in the fridge for another meal. I am hankering for some Culver's fried cod tonight, so we are planning to go there. Our weekend has nothing planned.
I am going to the hospital this afternoon to visit with my VBF for a bit. We chatted on the phone yesterday, so I told her I would come over today or tomorrow. It looks like today will be best. Her DH is still home with COVID which leaves her alone a lot, but that is not a problem for her.
Did anyone else hear about Oprah Winfrey leaving WW? or is that only newsworthy in this area??
Make a great day! BBL.

Hi Sue and friends,
Yes! I heard that Oprah made a break from WW. Didn't hear details but it was on our morning news. I know she has announced that, for her, the new miracle weight loss drugs are the way to go. She is on one of them - maybe Wegovy. I know they work for most, but I'm never a big fan of meds when I'm not sure what the long term effects are. I shall continue to fight this battle ounce by ounce and enjoy each morsel. :-)
You are a good friend to your VBF. Sad that her DH has Covid, but as you say, that's not her concern now. I'm sort of glad she is still in the hospital and not exposed to it - hopefully. Your meals sound good, Sue!
I picked up a good sized order and a new glass baking pan to make a gluten free chicken dinner for our DS, DDIL and family tonight THey will arrive about 7. We have to keep her baking and cooking pots and pans separate so this one will have a label GF!
I am back to work now - cold out but yay - the sun is back. Supposed to warm way up this weekend but with rain. Very strange, snowless, warm winter for the most part except for this brief bout of cold.
Our cleaning lady is here now and I am sequestered in my home office. I love her. She makes life so much happier for us.
Have a wonderful day and weekend. I'll pop in again when I can!

Hi! Not sure why anyone cares what Oprah does, but her exit from WW has apparently caused the stock to sink. I’m not sure how this focus on weight loss drugs will affect WW, too, but once my free time ends, I will probably go back to the Healthi app, just because it’s cheaper. I don’t care for the recent programming changes to the tracker either. I made a shrimp and pasta alfredo for our dinner tonight. It was only so-so and we have a lot left. I will probably eat the shrimp for lunch tomorrow and toss the rest. DH didn’t have much to say, a sure sign that he didn’t like it, but didn’t want to hurt my feelings.
I am happy to report that FINALLY this evening I feel like I may be on the road to recovery. I had told DH yesterday that I would give it until Monday and then I would call the doctor again if I wasn’t feeling better. He still has a cough, but has seemed to recover much quicker than me. At any rate, I plan to walk with Debbie tomorrow. I can feel the depression settling in and hardly moved from my chair today, except to go to Mass and adoration this morning and Way of the Cross this evening. I know that even a short walk will help.
We had a facetime call from Leah this afternoon. She may get her cast off on Monday. She loves to call, but then doesn’t have much to say, so our conversations are short, but I’m still happy that she and Madison call us. We have been missing Abby, too, and will plan a sleepover when we’re both feeling well again.
Sue - I hope the dental visit went well. Tell your VBF your cyber friends are praying for her!
Judy - Congrats on the positive WI! You are my hero! I have been trying to rein in the late night snacking and eat healthy meals, but have been indulging in red wine. Need to nip that in the bud, but I do enjoy it so much!
I am enjoying The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen 83 1/2 Years Old. About every other page makes me laugh! Sweet dreams all!
