This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph.
Carole: 1.) Greatly decrease alcohol 2.) Track daily, being mindful of my macros 3.) Make movement a daily habit 4.) Be thankful each and every day ♥ 5.) Organize the house and photos
Karen: 1) Count my blessings each day in my planner 2.) Track my food daily on the Noom app 3.) Continue to conquer the areas of my home that need special love 4.) Intentionally Move More

This is a time to get organized to reduce stress and frustrations... 3.) Drink more water....even if it's hard...make it a priority...a continued "work in progress" for me!! 4.) Get to the pool....it makes me feel good, it's my happy place...no excuse!! Shoot for 3 days a week to start!! 5.) Be kind to ME!! Remember you can't be all things to everyone especially if you don't take care of you first!!

Good morning!
I only have a few minutes to post--getting to work early to make sure that things are ready for my new assistant. It is another cold one today---33 degrees. I did make it to the gym this morning (first time on a Monday in a couple of weeks) and I am using that to motivate me to make good choices for my health today. How about you? What will motivate you to make good choices today and for the week? Tomorrow I drive to SF for an overnight thing for work....not looking forward to the drive, but it will be fine once I am there and parked (it is not the easiest city to drive around in!) This morning, on the way to the gym, I was suddenly confused about what day of the week it was. I did so much work-work yesterday that I was thinking it was a work day. Oh brother....not many more Sundays like that, I hope.
Christine: I hope that your drive was uneventful and that you are able to get all of the testing done as planned.
Sue: it sounds like you had a busy day--hoping that your skin is healing and that you can get back to the pool soon.
Carole: I hope that yesterday went okay? Also that Tracy is heading home.
Jenny: Hoping that your week passes quickly and that you are back to regular hours.
Jo: i hope that you are feeling better and that Steve had a good birthday.
Karen: Hoping to hear something about the wedding plans when you have the time.
Okay, time for me to sig off. Have a good day ladies--I might be able to pop in at lunchtime.

Good Morning - Still warmish here, but no sunshine today! Yesterday was beautiful!!! We had doors open for fresh air, the girls were outside playing more than they were inside, didn't need sweatshirts or anything! Lunch went fine - still no Tracy! I ran the dishwasher and even did up the stuff that gets done by hand, everyone was gone around 6, it was just a nice day! I pulled the open bottle of wine out - for Kathy. I poured a glass of my zero alcohol wine, and was good with that! I don't recall the last time we had a family day that I didn't have alcohol! Anyway... it was just a good day. I didn't track, but I know I didn't get my protein, and probably not my calories - but 1 day won't make a bad week!
Jenny: Glad your snow is minimal, and that you could get things done and home again - out of the cold. Oh Ken watches that Lake Front Bargain Hunt, and also the Beach one. It's interesting that almost everyone walks in and says, well this will all have to be taken out. Sometimes I think WTH? Why spend that kind of money on a place just to tear it all out??? Wish I had that kind of money to spend!
Ahhh, that explains why your sister hasn't been helping much with the parents. Glad they are back safe & sound. Glad you are feeling better. Yeah, Tracy has needed the bipap again so not sure what the difference is this time. She's in longer than she has been before. Today's goal is to get out of bed to eat, and wash up and move a little.
Yes, unfortunately - when we redid our kitchen about 10 years ago - we did it ourselves. Had to save $$ where we could, so we used cheaper materials. The cabinets are fine, only one drawer is peeling the paint/finish, so we are keeping them. The counter was never done "right"... we did what we could but obviously we didn't know WTH we were doing, because the seam is separating... and they are bowing in places. So MY plan is to get new countertops, and flooring, and move the fridge back several inches, so it is even with our counters beside it. That requires cutting into the back room, and building it IN so to speak. We will also decrease the size of the island a little, to make more walking room around it. People always gather around the island, and it gets cramped trying to walk behind someone standing/sitting there. Ken is a little hesitant about it all, so yesterday we discussed a few compromises. We'll see.
Sounds like a good doable plan for walking this week - good job!
Gabrielle: Yikes 3" of hail? Glad it's melted now, but glad you didn't have to go out in that! Sorry you have to drive alone to SF, especially in the rain. Hey, maybe after your Wednesday meetings, you should find a coffee shop, and relax for a little bit before you hit the road. Let some of the commuter traffic get out of the way, before you head home. What's the name of the show you are watching? I need something new to watch. Yes, I bought some Bento boxes, off Amazon for like $20.00? It gives me 4 days of the same thing for lunch - but makes tracking so very simple! LOL Mine have 6 sections. The larger sections hold a cup of cottage cheese, then the rest I can fill up with whatever. I weigh and measure, and know just what's in there, so that takes time - but then I have 4 days of tracking done.
Thanks, no - I couldn't cancel dinner. I already had so much done, and the ham was pulled from the freezer. It was fine - like I said the day was good. I felt bad that Tracy didn't have much company though. Yes, she has a pulmonologist, but after this admit she is ready to really talk with her PCP and get a referral to Worcester or Boston. This pulmonologist had said YEARS ago, there was a procedure she could do... but she didn't want to put Tracy through such an invasive procedure, just to save 1 or 2 admissions a year. Well now that she is in every 2/3 months, it's time. When I asked about the procedure, the pulmonologist said, it's too late for that procedure! Seriously?? I am soooo angry over that. I call it malpractice, but it's not up to me! I have told her, as her health proxy, that I will go with her anytime she wants me to. I might be more vocal with the doctors than she is?
Thanks for starting us off this morning. I stayed up WAY too late last night - reruns of NCIS, I got into, and all of a sudden realized it was after 11 PM! So I slept in today the perk of being retired! Hopefully your temps warm up soon - Spring is coming! YAY for hitting the gym this morning. Sorry had to LOL about you not knowing what day it was. Yes... not many more Sundays for you to give up for work-work!
OK Time to get moving. Need to get ready to head down to visit Tracy, see if today is the day she might be released? We will both be there, so if she gets out, one of us can drive her car home for her.
♥hugs♥
