Good morning, all LTMs,
Marm asked someone to start, so here we are! I am back from the Y, and "computing" before I take all the Christmas decorations down and put them away! We usually leave them up longer, but this has been a very different Christmas from normal, w/ being away until Dec. 12th.
It is a chilly morning here in SW Florida, w/ temps in the low 50's. Tomorrow will be downright cold, at last for us Floridians, w/ the morning temp at 39*. No, Mary, don't worry about the fruit freezing. The growers have a way of spraying the trees & the strawberries to protect them. It would take below freezing temps for more than a few hours to cause real problems. BTW, the Florida strawberries are showing up in our stores, so look for them. I got nice ones for 99 cents a pint on Wednesday. When we came back from Bok Towers on Tuesday, thepickers were out in the fields. AND, those fields were big! It's also Florida orange season, which really begins in November. Look for some of the red navels if you can find them! Delicious!
I hope Marm's surgery goes perfectly! Prayers for you, fearless leader! Hope we hear from you later.
Have a great day, everyone!
Rose Marie

The wind has finally died down. Now what happened to the sun. Very dreary start to the morning. Thinking of you today Marm. DH still doing OK? How's your DH today Mary? Hope it's good news at the PA this afternoon.
Ruth, when I make cranberry sauce I just cook a package on top of the stove with a cup water and add sweetener when they're done. Sometimes I add a cut up orange too while cooking the cranberries. Cranberries were on sale yesterday so I got two packages to cook today. Braeburn apples are my favorite. Jazz is very good too. Very similar to Braeburn. I like a crisp apple. I can't stand a soft, mealy apple like Red or Golden Delicious. I think Honey Crisp are over rated and over priced.
It's Friday which means laundry whenever DH gets up so I can get started. I have all day but I like to get it done in the morning which I usually always do. It just always seems Fridays is when DH decides to sleep in a little later. He was pretty restless last night so maybe he's getting some quality sleep now.

Good Morning Rose Marie for Marm and LTMs,
Marm, it was good to see your post even though it was just to put up a star for Rose Marie.
This morning it was 24º (feels like 16º) with a few clouds and going up to 49º and partly cloudy with winds SSW 10-20 mph.
Hannah has a chiropractor appointment late this morning and I’ll go with her if she wants me to. As far as I know there are no other plans for today.
Yesterday afternoon I had a call from my cousin in New Jersey and she sounded about the same as ever. She has had diabetes for many years and is almost blind. She turned 94 this year and still lives in her own home near one of her daughters. She manages on her own with the help of some ladies who do her housework and stay overnight with her. She was a WAVE in WWII and her brother was a paratrooper.
King had a job interview in Omaha yesterday. He said before the interview they had him do some skill tests. Now he has to wait to find out what they have to say.
For supper last night MJ made homemade pizza which we all enjoyed. She made 4 different ones so everyone could find their favorite toppings.
Maxine calendar today: Time to start training for my favorite winter sport … extreme hibernating.
Another Japan memory: While we were eating pizza last night I remembered making it for the family in Japan and it was always a treat. Back then there were no pizza restaurants and we always enjoyed our homemade treat. We couldn’t get pepperoni to put on it either and I would get hot dogs which were available locally or would brown ground beef for a topping. There were stores where we could get the cheese we needed so that wasn’t a problem. When I made pizza dough I often made a double recipe and the next day we would have cinnamon rolls for breakfast and the whole family enjoyed that. More tomorrow.

Good afternoon all. Marm, prayers for safe travel and good outcome from the procedure. Congrats to Rose Marie and Bipp on the loss... Gareth, thanks, that's about how I usually make mine too. Today I'm going to try putting in some dried apricots. I have a lot of those and want to use them up. The wind is back here so you must have sent it back Gonna go clean up the kitchen and do laundry too. I think I'll have to set certain days for certain tasks so that I can be more organized in household tasks.

Good Afternoon,
Rather nice day here. Not cold according to the thermometer but it's damp & cool. I think the dampness makes it seem colder. We never got the high winds & snow flurries yesterday. Should have gone shopping but DH wanted to wait till today. The 11% off at Menards ends this week - of course there will be another week. They are getting like Kohl's with their 11% off sales. If I really do need to order the shower door, I have to get that done. I half expect SIL to start the BR next week. He said it will be about 2 days that we may be without a shower, but you know how building projects go. I think we might be able to use the shower curtain for a few days if we have to.
I got so much done yesterday. In addition to what I think I told you was on my agenda - washing clothes, cooking prunes, cranberries & soup - I gave DH a haircut & then vacuumed the entire house. Not a small task when compared to the trailer! I wanted to bake cookies after supper but decided to wait till today. I'm baking them now - PB!
Not sure when DS will take my computer to his friend to transfer my stuff. Hope it's gone for a shorter time then his was, but I think he just neglected to pick it up. I'm hoping I can post from my tablet but I don't really like using that.
We're back home from MN about an hour ago & yes we stopped at WM too! The shower door is ordered & estimated arrival date is 1/05. Not bad timing. We got the shower head & light/exhaust fan. We looked at many other things but think we may wait till next winter or maybe till we move back permanently, to finish up. I'd like a new vanity & we'll have to have new flooring. Just not sure right now how I what the finished look to be.
Marm, praying all went well again today & that we'll hear from you later. How is DH doing?
Ruth, Mom always made escalloped corn like yours - usually at Thanksgiving time. I never cared for it as a kid but love it now. Haven't thought about making it in a long time. Don't get to organized or I may be the only dis-organized one on here:)
Bipp, happy you are feeling better. I didn't realize you were ill. Maybe I missed that post.
Congrats to the losers! I'm doing very good with my baking over the Holidays. I may go to WWs & WI next week & find out how good. Will the changes start then or later Gareth?
Didn't knit very much yesterday - too busy with other things. Not quite done with the ribbing yet. I'm very slow at that.
Hard to believe that the New Year starts Sunday. I sure hope 2017 is better than 16. At least we can be thankful we won't have a president campaign going on. Now we only have to listen/read what the prez is or isn't doing, plus what promises are broken & how bad the previous President was. Same old, same old whenever there's a change of the guard.
Have good evening!

Good late afternoon all,
We didn't learn anything from the PA appointment today, and I didn't really expect to. She just went over what happened, etc. we don't see the neurologist until the 11th and he will adjust the new med then if needed. I'm not happy with how groggy and tired he feels much of the time, until just before it's time to take another pill. She said he is on the lowest dose of it now. However I see the pills he takes are large and are scored.
Bipp, I missed you but I didn't know that you were sick. I trust you are back to normal now. Take care!
This isn't a good time for me to chat. I'll BBL after I get supper started

Everything went well. Been home for a long time and short nap and supper. the Dr. came in before surgery and Talked, I did show him the Huge Eyes and Round mouth be looking at him while doing my Surgery That I drew on my leg. He got a laugh at that. Also in my room after and talked. so many that had Heart surgery knows him well. But now only in Vascular.
Mary, Gee you almost wonder why you had to go for that appt. If the med is Scored I would call Dr. and say DH will be taking 1/2 med and why. I'm sure the Dr. will be more than happy about only half one. Been there done that.
BBL~~

Marlene, you don't have to worry about that I think you're pretty organized and I know that my plans do usually come to be. The only place I was ever organized was at work. And you sure got a lot done both yesterday and today. It must have been only abot three weeks ago that Mn's had an 11% sale. I remember because dh wanted to rush over there and get something they had on sale and I kinda discouraged him. I told him that they'll have the 11% again soon and I guess I was right and I'd bet they'll have it again in about 3 weeks.
Mary, there are a lot of anti convulsant meds so if this one makes your dh too drowsy there are others they can try. They order them supposedly based on what type of seizure the patient has. The neuro will be able to explain things better to you than the other doctors.
WEll I think I'll do some crocheting. I procrastinated yesterday and ended up playing online games and reading a novel when I should have been working on my crochet projects. I have to make a new list. It's funny when I look thru notebooks because I see my lists of what I want to get done knitting and crocheting wise and some projects just keep being moved to the new list. I don't know if you remember, Marlene, but I sent you a copy ofa pattern someone sent to me. It was called Tawashi knot scrubbies and neither of us really knew of what use they would be. Well I had made some and send a couple to Marie but she was in the hospital at the time and her daughter "adopted" the scrubbies. Marie said she(Marie) liked them so I was going to make some more and send. Well I have the strips made and have had them made for a couple years but still don't have them twisted into the scrubbies Gotta get to that. It just keeps getting added to list after list.
Rose Marie, I've never heard of red navel oranges. I doubt we'll ever have them here. I do envy you being there where the oranges taste like real oranges and same for other citrus and the strawberries. I don't think I've had a real strawberry in years..that is one that's been ripened on the plant and really tastes like a strawberry. The ones we get are sometimes ok but not like I remember from way back but then I think we did talk about our taste buds aging one day. I definitely think that happens.

Ruth, you sent me one of those scrubbies & some strips that I never put together either to make another one. Wonder where I ever put them.
I am not an organized person! I fly by the seat of my pants most of the time but every so often I am organized for a day!! That's when I really accomplish something.
I've been looking on line for bathroom vanities. Found one I like at Home Depot but want to actually see something made by this company to know what the quality is. I hate buying/ordering sight unseen - not for the $$ they charge & % they charge if you don't like it. DH liked it too. Some of the vanities they have look like a dresser. Some have all drawers. This has a combination of doors & drawers & is considerably smaller than we have now. I may have to check it out tomorrow:)We have a HD in town so not far to go. And Aldi's is on the way!!

Rose Marie*, Thanx again for getting us going. Hope you have that warming soon. Yes I did see on TV how they Spray all Fruit Trees and Ect. w/Water to Insulate from Freezing. Witch sounds odd, but I guess it works. My DB in Cal. was a picker for couple yrs. Don't recall what he did pick anymore. I picked Strawberry's for couple yrs. W hen Daddy died when a kid. but not all season. that was a field he would let kids pick for like a nickel a bucket or something. Been to long to remember. And he would say Eat ALL You Want. (That's here in Iowa)
Gareth*,My Apples I want to be not sweet but Tart, And little on Sour side. Now you say about Delicious Yellow. We used to have trees both Yellow and Red. thee best ones ever, And big. My love was the Yellow but still Green. I could eat a barrel of them. w/Salt.
Doris, How nice talking to your cousin And at that age. Sad she is blind and but still seems to enjoy life. Wonderful to be in her own home w/DD and someone to help her. I bet she has a lot of story's to tell while she was a waves to.
Bipp, Happy to hear you feel better. You don't get down sick like that very often, Take Care, But yet you go get Groc. for a friend. Do take care!!
Marlene, Yeah like when DH says getting into Plumbing you never know what will happen or comes along to end up doing more than intended. Hope all goes well for DSIL on BR. You was a busy camper. so much done. Politics. You really think will hear less?? don't think so. Only worse. Being in the Hospitals you should hear what nurses worry about.
Ruth, OK "U ask for it. I will be asking Scrubbies?? which means do you have them finished yet? Ha.ha. you can nag me about something if ya want. I have never made the Cranberrys, But w/oranges is the one WWer's has. Sounds so good to. Something I am not anymore is organized. Never thought of it before but I guess it is about every 3 weeks MN's has there 11%, But unlike you I love those places. I'm ah cross man/woman I guess, Cause even Auto shops I like. I can look, look and see what I could make from something, Drives my poor Hubby out of his mind. Ha,ha.
Well today was another in Hospital early and long day but it still seem to go fast. fun w/the nurses "n" all. And Yes hubby felt good and slept well last night. Thanks for concerns and Prayers. He's been a good patient. Quieter than norm being a patient. Ha,ha. Welp I do think I will take the Snow Scene down. As DH stumbled into it a few times and looks ah little not so pretty anymore. Really things seem to be working out good. We are sooo lucky.
Oh you do know I had my "Computer Guy Over. "Nothing Wrong w/my Computer". HE Said it Is The Site. And he did show me how to Scan. To a point .And the Attach is what I don't understand and he didn't go through that. So I have to call him to stop by for about 5 mins. And go thru that. I do have a GS near by that's a whiz at Computers but never gets here. does see his Dad Our DS, He was 2 when DS married his Mom and always been good for that boy. his Mom was so mean to him. (Now Divorced) GS in Jr. High helped the Teachers w/there Computers and helped other students to. Also in summer working w/Teachers on the Computers. And yes he does have a job on his computer.
BBL~~~ Marm~
