Morning all! I'm in. Pat's working from home today and car #2 is in for inspection. I've got a few errands on tap and then, I'll be pruning our knockout roses and some other late winter cutbacks. C'mon Spring! finreporter Hope you're doing okay and the dermatitis is getting better.

Hi from Czech Republic! doordie50, I'm looking forward to spring, too. It was quite mild for a while, but will get cold again this coming week. We do have crocus and snowdrops blooming, though. Also, my chives are up. We cleared stuff off of what will be my small veggie patch, and will hopefully soon get a shipment of garden soil. I didn't have a veggie garden when I still lived in the US. We just had a deck and a small little area only big enough for herbs. I'm planning on a few tomato and pepper plants. Some scallions, leeks, lettuce or spinach, and a couple annual herbs. I do have a perennial herb garden from last year. I gained a little of the weight I lost. Stress was high, but hopefully will ease again soon. I did start meal planning, though. I want to focus on Core Plan eating, but still track some fat/protein/sugars/carbs, to a degree. I had some sonograms at a radiologist yesterday. My sister and I want to do so at least annually, as our mother died of bile-duct cancer, brother of pancreatic cancer, and dad diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on his last day with us. It's disconcerting. No one in our family had these cancers before our parents and brother. All three lived in the same house. Sis moved from there at 18. I was mostly out at 18, too. In any case, the radiologist said I have fatty liver and fatty pancreas. So, I must lose some weight and exercise, for my own good. Luckily that can help reverse it. No one ever told me I have metabolic syndrome, but I'm assuming I do, as I also need to take blood pressure meds and cholesterol med, and am pre-diabetic.

Wednesday Went Wild. Sounds like a porn star. At least then there would be $$$$ from sales and residuals.
Toots' dermaDoc appt went fine. His favorite DocDoc (Dr. Doctoroff) recommends MOHS surgery (squamous cell carcinoma, L middle finger) and would ideally like Toots to be off blood thinners prior (7 days for aspirin, 3 days for Clopidogrel). We left a message for Toots' cardioDoc for clearance and scheduled the surgery for Saturday 3/30 (yes, it's Holy Saturday) at 8 AM.
Kressling came in after 3 PM and he and one of the younger YMs delivered the food donations in the pouring rain. Photos include the Passing of the Pasta, symbolizing the passing of the project to the next round of YMs.
Coffee... βββ... breakfast...
πππππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππππ

doordie50, derm doc thinks it's something called Grover's Disease. He prescribed a steroid cream and wants to see me back in 2 weeks. He said it mostly happens in men over 50 but sometimes women get it too and it's thought to be brought on by temperature changes (cold outside to warm inside) combined with sweating. With this condition, most of the rash is concentrated in the torso. He asked if I have been sweating a lot more lately and I told him yes I have. My guy's place is always warm with the thermostat up somewhat highish since he has 2 small bony dogs that get cold really easily. At night when I'm sleeping, I wake up sweating and have to sleep without blankets for part of the night. When I'm at my own house, I keep the thermostat pretty low because I'd rather be cold and then get cozy in the blankets rather than have the heat blasting. Doc also said to wear loose clothing for the time being.

cyndee!! So nice to see you, good luck with the garden. finreporter ugh I'm sorry to hear that. Do the dogs sleep on the bed or can you get a portable fan to aim at you without cooling down the whole room? Or, I'm not sure what they are called, but a cooling blanket thing for ladies in menopause. I hope you find something that helps. Good luck.

finreporter, wow, so sorry. I hope the steroid cream gives you some relief. Deb's idea of a cooling blanket could be worth a try.

I went out and bought myself sheets and pillow cases that have the cooling effect. I'll ask him to get the same for his place. I'll also look into the cooling blanket. I had not heard of it before!
Some of the bumps are starting to look like they are healing but then in new spots I'll discover hives, which luckily seem to go away as soon as I apply calamine lotion.
