March 7 My goals for this 100 days are: 📝 Track every BLT ✔️ 🚶♀️ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week 🧹 Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ✔️ 🖋️ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative ✔️ 🇫🇷 Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French ✔️ ⚖️ Weigh every morning ✔️ <166.2> [indulgent afternoon and evening]
I tried to go online yesterday before visiting friends but no internet then forgot later in the evening when I was home again. I will be OP and track every BLT today.
The heels on the ten dollar faux snakeskin booties came off yesterday and I found out the heels are hard plastic and hollow so wonder how the repairman will fix them and if the cost will be worth it. Will find out tomorrow as hubby is busy with trimming of trees and vines today.
Pam: So nice to see your post!
Karen: Sorry the weather and walking and puddle hopping were part of your day.
Gisélle: Hope all is well with you and your family.

Great day yesterday! Yes, I was puddle jumping but did enjoy my time walking in the rain and running from errand to errand vs staying in at home. I have what I need on hand to make a nice dinner tonight! My son and his family are leaving SUnday for Scotland for one week. The boys have their break from school from the 11th through the 25th when they return to classes. I will go from the 20th to maybe the 23rd. The Zoom last night with Kristin Hannah talking about The Women was really informative. It will be available soon on YouTube to watch if anyone's interested. It's from Carol Fitzgerald/Bookaccino of you want to try and search. Made my steps goal Slept well Decluttered a bit Got outdoors sarah@thedeclutteringclub.com is having another free OLAB (Organize Like A Boss) for 5 days beginning on March 18th. Check it out if you need an organized start. Cathy, sorry your internet's been acting up so much lately. I can't believe your heel came off! I had a favorite pair of Tevas for ages and they kind of died. Since they don't make them anymore (I thought) I searched eBay & Poshmark to find the same sandal in my size. I found a pair! In 2019 I was walking in Seville, Spain when the top of the shoe separated from the bottom! Oh well. I since bought a pair of men's in a similar style but they're not exactly designed the same way and the heel top angles forward and bites. I took it to the shoemaker twice and he left off telling me to wear them with thick heavy socks around the house, which I've done recently. And they felt pretty good. We'll see. Waving to Pam & Gisélle too and hoping all is well and you'll pop back in soon!!

March 8 My goals for this 100 days are: 📝 Track every BLT ✔️ 🚶♀️ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week✔️ 30 minutes today and yesterday 🧹 Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ✔️ 🖋️ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative ✔️ 🇫🇷 Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French ✔️ ⚖️ Weigh every morning ✔️ <166.2> [scale stayed the same & thankful as sometimes the second day after a splurge is worse than the immediate day after]
Ran errands in the morning and took the booties in to be fixed (five dollars per pair brings the cost up to fifteen dollars for the shoes - hope it stays well for awhile. What he plans to do is use thick rubber he has, cut a piece to fit, use some special glue to put the piece on and that will be that. I hope it works. We brought home a rotisserie chicken that was not terrific and I turned it into a wrap that I heated in the electric-grill-press. Not sure what dinner will be but am leaning toward fruit in yogurt with perhaps some seeds or nuts.
KAREN: I looked up the site for the Kristin Hannah interview and found this link to send to my sister: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQpe4F0jLe8 Thank you as she read the book and would probably enjoy watching this or listening to it. I am glad you enjoyed your walk in the rain I hate it when great shoes (or anything that is comfy) gives up the ghost. I wonder if you contacted TEVA they would be able to tell you what CURRENT style is most like the one you used to have that you loved. Also, my granddaughters will be going to Vietnam and Singapore for their Easter/Spring break...can't wait to see the photos of their trip!

March 9 My goals for this 100 days are: 📝 Track every BLT ✔️ 🚶♀️ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week✔️ 🧹 Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ✔️ 🖋️ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative ✔️ 🇫🇷 Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French ✔️ ⚖️ Weigh every morning ✔️ <166.2> [Day 3]
The shoes look fine and the price was right for getting them fixed. Hope to talk to our daughter tonight if the internet cooperates. Lunch was a one pot meal with rice, zucchini, leftover rotisserie chicken, garbanzo beans, onion, garlic, tomato paste and 7-spice seasoning. I made a soup using leftovers in the fridge and hope it will be the basis for a nourishing, healthy warming dinner tonight.

Good days but not much physical activity. I had Mah Jongg yesterday and today, sat Friday morning for over an hour cutting up 9 lbs of apples to make apple chai butter. I needed to get them into the crock pot before going to 12:30 MJ. Mission accomplished! It turned out really well. Friday evening I attended a Sound Bath and so was lying on the floor for an hour of bliss. And so far today especially with the bad weather not much movement at all. Drove home after MJ at the yoga studio. It was fun. It's where I learned a couple of years before covid. Have not made my step goal the last 2 days Slept ok but not last night Got outdoors Decluttered a little Cathy, your granddaughters' trip sounds so exotic! I know a young couple who were just there last month! She has family there and they were part of a large group of family members making the trip back "home" to visit relatives. I'm not sure of their ethnic relation since the young lady is not Asian? Bottom line, it all went so well and they had a super great time. Of course she'd been before but not her husband. He loved it and is ready to return anytime! Dinner will be leftovers from Thursday. I make the Sante Fe chicken with lentils which is a big casserole with corn, tomatoes, cheese, sauteed peppers and onion & garlic, cilantro, jalapeño, and great seasonings. It has a little heat too. I added dark red kidney beans and maybe next time I'll try black beans. It makes a lot and I can eat it over and over. We froze one portion of it for another night in the future but there's still a bit for tonight and maybe a breakfast or 2 for me this weekend. Tomorrow we're going to Tavlin, a local Middle Eastern grocery where they make really good falafel, bourekas, dips and spreads, chesses, halvah, you name it! They just did a remodeling and we want to go check it out and pick up a few things. They have an olive bar and I buy my Sumac there, which I love but the only other place I could find it was in NYC. Waving to everyone!!

March 10 My goals for this 100 days are: 📝 Track every BLT ✔️ 🚶♀️ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week✔️ 🧹 Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ✔️ 🖋️ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative ✔️ 🇫🇷 Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French ✔️ ⚖️ Weigh every morning ✔️ <165>
Talked to our daughter last night and hope to talk to our son and his family tonight. Time doesn't change here till the end of the month. We have leftovers to reheat for lunch and plenty of produce to create meals with this week. Duolingo is what it is. Sometimes I feel like they are taking my hearts for no good reason (like using the familiar instead of the formal option for phrases). Anyway...here's hoping this week will be a good one for all of us!
KAREN: My son travels ALL the time and has seen many countries. His wife wants to make sure that on spring break they take the girls somewhere new each year and so far they have been to Lebanon, Jamaica or those islands (during the pandemic), Scandinavia and some of Romania and Eastern Europe, Bali, and I don't remember where else. They will see more of the world than I will and I am glad that they are taking family vacations that I never took my children on since my goal was always to go home and see family in the United States.

Chat with granddaughters didn't happen but we did manage to check in with our son and they are fine and he knows we are fine, too. I walked for thirty minutes, tracked, reset my app now that I can search for items, and am going to use the earlier form of counting points that correlates more closely with calories. I don't have any food-outings this week so look forward to an OP week with success on and off the scale.

The sun is shining but we have dangerous wind. The door next door nearly blew off its hinges! Today was garbage pick up but everything was flying through the air and my husband was out searching fror our pails! He found them, and the recycling bin but many of their contents were missing. The weekend was nice. Quiet though, and the weather wasn't great. Did not reach my step goal Decluttered a little Slept well Got outdoors A new week begins! Cathy, I'm glad you checked in with your son. I texted mine since their flight left at 9 PM last night for Scotland. Finished a book that Libby was taking away from me! Just made it! Finishing another and have a new one in the queue, and 2 audiobooks waiting too. One I am more than halfway through. I'm on a nice streak! Today my Duo streak will turn to 700! Wow! I skip the morning on the day the new tournament starts and only do exercises after 9 or so. And I concentrate less on competing on the leaderboards and do my lessons more! It's all good. And I got 3 books to help me with verb tenses which is an area of learning I find lacking on Duo. But Im really feeling the difference in where I'm at with the language! Waving to Cathy, and Pam & Gisélle too!

Seems I missed posting yesterday. If the internet is not working in the morning then I often forget to return to the boards later in the day. No cards today due to hostess having a nurse in to do wound dressings so we will meet tomorrow.
KAREN: Duolingo is day 230 for me...can't imagine having 700 days into it! I bet you will soon be able to teach others! I have a book on verb conjugation but it is not easy to find answers needed when actually doing a lesson. Some lessons are much harder than others. In French I find they don't give enough of the rules and expect me to figure it out by reading the changes by noticing gender, number, etc. in sentences then apply it without giving charts and such to refer to. Oh well...it is for fun and I may never use it but...it is good for my brain.

Good morning ladies!
I feel like I’ve been gone since forever. I joined a StepBet challenge, and a “Seed sowing” challenge. The second is actually two challenges in one. We’re sewing seeds to grow new habits. The two that I chose were decluttering and reading. So far so good! The premise is that I can do anything for just 10 minutes. So I started with 10 minutes each day for each goal. What progress I’ve made! The house is feeling great with our usual fresh flowers and lots of sunlight now that the winds and rain have passed. My bookclub meeting went well. I forgot how much prep it took to host for 6 people. Abel was a big help. Our next book is another murder mystery, I Didn’t Do It, by Ashley Winstead. Our Pastor’s Retirement party was pleasant. They served appetizers and champagne.
Daily posts : Here and on WW✅ Move : Steps,✅ strength,✅ Stretch,✅ Read : Setting aside time daily just for reading/listening to books✅ Get things done: continue daily handwriting and checking off my to-do list✅
Cathy it’s great that you were able to have your shoes repaired and for a reasonable price! I’ve been looking for a pair of comfortable casual shoes since December. I went to the mall last week but no luck. Did you move to Lebanon when you first got married? Karen congrats on your Duo progress! Abel’s grandson is on learning German and he believes I can learn too so I better get my act together. It’s wonderful when you can make good food finds. We’re out of luck in my area. We have to travel back to NYC to get ethnic foods and ingredients that we love. Sometimes I can get my friends and family to bring them when they visit.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Waves to Pam

😃 Off day. Woke early and got ready for my Zoom yoga and then realized that I had a pounding headache so I went back to bed but couldn’t get to sleep. Took OTC meds and felt a bit better after. Had a bite to eat and laid low. I have another yoga Zoom in 15 minutes.
No step goal met Slept so-so Didn’t declutter Only got outside to attend man in-person class
Cathy, one of the books was helpful during the lesson but I couldn’t find my dictionary which I needed. Gisèlle good to see you! You’re in a great place with your challenge s & Seeds! Your book club meeting sounds like it was at big hit! Hi Pam! Waving to everyone!
