Good morning.
31, fair, temp going to 48, with rain moving in overnight.
Robin, you don't know how far, in my eyes, my DGD has come over the years, which I attribute to her activities at school. A lot of her pictures in FB have her smiling, which back in grade school was not how we saw her in pics.
I hope we see a picture of you, all dolled up.
My Meta accounts were down as everyone was, then once they came back online, everything was fine; I did not have to put any passwords in. It was like it never happened.
Robin, the fact of the matter is, about the rent: when we were looking for a place, back in October of 2018, along with the price of homes going crazy, rents were also keeping pace with the house prices. There was also a building boom in the suburb I am in, and the suburb right next to me. All of which the rents were way higher than expected. So, from 2018 on, rents around here have been too high. Covid did not affect the rent prices. In fact, it got worse, with the shortage of lumber.
Marsha, I am not calling the landlord. The complex is part of a big management company. I have been, since DH passed kept an eye on the vacancies here at the complex, and they were all renting for more than what I was currently paying. I told my DS that I was dreading the day when they would try to get me caught up with the others. I just didn't expect it to be in one big chunk. But from now on I am going to be nitpicking every little thing that needs attention; I have a list started already, to submit for Maintenace to come and fix.
About the muscles: I have gone through many instructors led classes, plus Live Strong, at the Y, with all instructors (plus now that I think of it, WW in person classes too) telling us muscles DO NOT add weight.
Thank you, about my DGD. She is thriving in that environment.
Gareth, thank you, about DGD.
I am not going to call the landlord, as I am sure there is nothing he can do, as this is owned by a management company.
I think your DS could be right, about your DGD. She possibly could look into para jobs at the local grade schools, they may have openings, and with the experience she has already, they probably would hire her right away. I hope everything turned out ok at her doctor apt.
Carol, I think I would really like your DS, lol. I have to say, I do have a sundress, that I bought spur of the moment thing, when during the pandemic I ordered some yoga pants, and threw that in; it is form fitting, which for a while looked good on me, and floor length. I never wore it in public, just around here, but won't anymore, as with that added 10#, the material shows every single pound.
We really need the rain that is predicted for tomorrow, since we are short on snow for the season, unless between now and May, we get some big snowstorms.
Anngie, yes, seeing the new rent was a huge shock. They had been doing $25 a couple times, and once was, I think $50, so this one was a bit much. I have a little while to think things over, but I really don't want to move, as I know that even 1 bedrooms are not cheap, unless they are dumps, in the city, and I refuse to move into the city. From what I have seen when there are vacancies in the complex, they do not have sliding scale rents, every apartment is the same price, except that uppers are charged a bit less, since they are uppers.
Thank you, about DGD picture. I am so happy for her. I can't wait till Sunday, as that is when I am going to the play.
Cut and color after work today.
For the dinner on Saturday, I am making baked spaghetti, with garlic bread, so I needed to buy ground beef, and was shocked at the price of good beef. How could I forget, that is one of the reasons I do not eat beef anymore, I just refuse to pay those prices. I guess Bob rates.
