This challenge was created fifteen years ago by a few Weight Watchers members.
We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes.
Success isn’t always measured at the scale.
Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on.
Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join.
If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started.
If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Today has been a good day. We ran errands, exchanged money, bought produce and a rotisserie chicken, and I found out that the heels on my shoes can be fixed for five dollars per pair (or per heel?) and that is still okay by me for ten dollar booties - hope the heels stay on for awhile.
Yes I did: Track every BLT, walk thirty minutes while reading two days in a row, make healthy choices Yes I can do the same tomorrow
BOOKS: I finished the stories in the collection by James Lee Burke and wrote the review - dark and depressing with no signs of positive outcome for any of the characters...not my favorite book though well written. Am almost finished with Aroha and the Billionaire Boss by Serenity Woods. This author writes romances set in New Zealand and has found that billionaire romances are a good niche for her. I'm not sure what is up after that but perhaps will be working on the backlog of books that will expire and disappear in a week or two.
I have signed up to go to a St. Patrick's Day Potluck on the 19th (so not the 17th) and will be taking an Irish Flag Salad that will have green-orange-white ingredients and some nuts and feta and oranges, spinach, pears or apples or both, maybe avocados or cucumbers, oranges and who knows what else. It was that or shepherd's pie and think that the salad will be easier to transport than a casserole.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

My husband brought the shoes back and they look better than when purchased. I don't think it was very expensive but didn't go along to find out - don't like the haggling he does sometimes. Hope to talk to our daughter this afternoon if the internet cooperates. Lunch was a one pot dish with rice, onion, garlic, garbanzo beans, bouillon cube, tomato paste, 7-spice mix, leftover rotisserie chicken and then some yogurt on top. Dinner will be soup made from leftovers plus either tuna-egg patties or some other type of sandwich, maybe? We will see.
Books - finished the New Zealand romance and reviewed it and started a rather strange book that is about an older woman who became an assassin after her son and husband died. This is book three and it seems she ends up protecting rather than killing the person and kills the person that paid to have the wild horse saver vegan killed...hoping it goes quickly as so far she seems like a non-person and hard to warm up to - especially since she has a dog she just leaves at home with a water bowl that automatically refills, food for the dog that refills, and a doggie door. If she had a cat...maybe...but a dog? Hmm...not sure I'll finish it but will give it a bit more time to see what I think.
Need to go put the leftovers away and have a fruit for snack then get back to reading.
Hope you all are enjoying the weekend.

March 10
Yes I did: track, stay OP, stay positive Yes I can: make healthy choices, track every BLT, walk 30 minutes while reading
Talked to our daughter last night and hope to talk to our son and his family tonight. We have leftovers for lunch and plenty of produce for meals.
BOOKS: Finished the third book in The Endings Series by Linda L. Richards and couldn't relate to the female assassin and though a standalone story wondered if reading the previous two books would have helped me like her more...or not. I am starting a book by Lee Goldberg today and will read it while walking. It is in the Eve Ronin series.
Hope all are enjoying the weekend!

Happy Daylight Savings time Sunday.
Cathy: One of my friends loves James Lee Burke. I could not get into those books. Thankfully there are lots of books for every taste. I am reading a book by Kelly Rimmer about the Polish occupation by Hitler. Pretty good so far, but loaned to me by another pal who loves reading about WWII. and I don't like war. However, I'm learning so much by reading these books because we didn't get this brutal history lesson in school. Perhaps this we need this wake-up call. Glad you made the booties work! Will you wear green on St. Paddys Day?
Another busy day here and beautiful weather. Spent the morning into afternoon weeding, raking etc. in the garden. The big black Shepard we are watching kept me company and only ran away a few times to try to catch a squirrel. He didn't and I'm so glad of that. Our rain is over and we are coming into a bit of warm weather. High 70's and Santa Ana winds, so dry. Bring on the shorts weather!
Going to bed earlier tonight so Sweet Dream to All,
Jan

The sun woke me before 5:30 this morning and though I turned over and tried to go back to sleep...it didn't happen. I have had breakfast three hours before my husband (he's still eating) so doubt we will eat lunch together today. He has a busy day ahead of him with someone coming to help in the yard, online conferences to attend if the internet allows, and a group who are meeting about family property that may be sold - he will be available but not attend in person. We need to pick up the ceiling fan-light for the master bedroom, and I have other things to do in and around the house. The call didn't work with my son for a number of reasons including mixed messages and internet not being strong enough. We did catch up and all is well with him and he knows we are doing well, too. I have reset the app for tracking now that the app allows searching for foods again and have a positive attitude on how this week will unfold.
Yes I Can: track every BLT in the app, walk 30 minutes while reading, hydrate, make healthy choices, and stay OP
BOOKS: The Lee Goldberg book DREAM TOWN is set in Southern California and has a young female homicide detective with a new TV series being made about her while she continues to work as a detective. There is a murder of a reality star blamed on Chilean tourists that come to town to rob rich people and return at the end of their vacation with money in their pockets. Of course that is not how the case is solved as bodies found in a nearby preserve lead to alternate possibilities. I have read the end so will skim the middle and move on to the next book, I think. It is well written and reads like a TV show as the author is also the author of the Monk detective series, I think...maybe? Not sure what book is up after this. Perhaps a book by Patricia Rice or Amanda McKinney.
JAN: James Lee Burke can be good...at least I have read one or two that I kind of remember enjoying but they are not as happy-making as some authors I read. As for the occupation of Poland by Hitler...I remember a movie in black and white that I watched LONG AGO that had a scene in it where the occupying forces had small children lined up on benches to drain of blood for soldiers that had been wounded. I have NO idea if that is true or not but...the image remains decades later. History is fascinating but also influenced by who is writing. History books in one country are often not the same as those in another due to the way the countries approached and looked at the cause and result of the war - and that is not just for say the USA and England in regard to the Revolutionary War. I just looked up Kelly Rimmer and found she writes contemporary as well as historical books. I also found this article about her that you might find interesting: www.betterreading.com.au/news/blood-sweat-tears-and-wisdom-kelly-rimmer-on-how-her-family-story-inspired-the-things-we-cannot-say/

Good Tuesday noon, positive peeps 🐥🐥!
Cathy - are you a morning person? I am by nature, and I also get waked up by the sun sometimes, no matter how late I stayed up at night. Anyway, thanks for being such a faithful poster, keeping our thread going!
Sally - good to see you on here! Your vacay sounded lovely, and yay for anticipated Nora visit and then Ireland! Oh, wish I could join you on the Ireland trip. I will love to hear about it. Jan - yay for joyful gardening and dog walking! I wish I could interact more with the feral kitties...they don't run away as fast anymore, stop and stare at me longer, and come running to the full food dish even before I have crossed the street to go back to my house. But I think they still miss their man who has not yet returned... I'm still enjoying cello, though I have to work on letting go of my perfectionist tendencies (hard on myself....and possibly on others?) Problematic that I have this in my personality but I'm also very prone to massive clutter. So, I will work on simplifying....simplify is my keyword for 2024 (thanks, WW). Well, it took me 2 months to come up with it, LOL! Yes I DID: --enjoy cello choir --do a very healthy grocery run --make some progress on establishing the meditation/wind-down routine at bedtime. Yes I CAN: --simplify --say no to sugar --get outside for fresh air and sunshine! Be well! Carol
