Good morning.
29, fair, becoming sunny, but breezy, going to 42.
Robin, there are no 1-bedroom apartments in my complex here. So, there is nothing to keep me in this area. I guess the one thing I should be grateful for, is with moving, thank goodness that 5 years ago and after DH died, our belongings were scaled back, but not much. I think I am going to see if DGS can come over here 1 day during spring recess to help me get the garage all emptied out, as there are things I just gave up on, when we did it a few years ago.
I have seen so many pictures of wedding venues around this area, that once they dress the place up, just about any kind of building turns into a perfect spot for a wedding, but I think places for black tie events are a little of a stretch around here. Maybe the more upscale gold clubs, things like that.
Not sure if I snore, but who knows! It has been many years since I slept in the same room as DH, and he always slept like the dead anyway, so he never complained about my snoring.
Pinky, Happy early Birthday!! I remember awhile back when the girls were younger, like in their 20's, the in thing was having your birthday week, and sure enough, they would celebrate it all week! DH and I never got into that.
About having winter, we say we had a week of winter, back in January, as if memory serves, that one week was pretty much filled with snow, then we got the bitter temps for another week, then done.
Omg! This whole thing about going to a 1 bedroom from this big apartment is starting to hit me as to all the stuff I have here. Lots of furniture, since this living room is kind of big.
Since you have seen just about all there is to see out in the Vegas area, it is really understandable why you are pretty much done with going there.
I am so sorry for your DS, but I am sure she has accepted that it is time for her DH to pass. I will give you all my condolences now, in case it would happen over the weekend.
Marsha, the minute your DH snoring started, I would have been gone to a different bed. I have no patience with something/someone disturbing my sleep, since I can only stay asleep for around 6 hours. Get your DD's bed made so you can have that as a nice backup.
Gareth, our rain, from what I saw of it, since it took forever to get here, was like what you had. The weather guy was just on and did not even say an amount. Crazy how it will get so warm coming mid-week.
The thing with this new apartment building opening up is it is based on how many people in it, and your income. There is not barely any place like that around our city and if there is they are full. And since I only have till June 1st before I pay $100 more per month, I do not have time to be very picky. If I move to this place, I figured I could save around $4,500 per year. That is a guesstimate, mind you, but after talking to DS yesterday, I believe this is fate, with me being 70, who knows how much longer I will be physically able to pack and move.
About Bob, I now think when he said that, when we were going to meet in person and did, I want to move in with him after we met, I have a feeling he was kidding. You know...about rushing into a relationship kind of thing. I do not get any vibes from him of him wanting to be romantic in our friendship.
That is kind of weird what happened with your hair cut! I specifically said to my stylist when I first got there, that I wanted just a little taken off, and sure enough, she gave me my normal short cut!! Grrr!! My DS told me yesterday about a salon she found that would be very close to me if I moved to that other place, that is cheaper than the going rate around town, so there is that to check out in the near future.
Anngie, I think the para's here, have to take a course at the tech school here. I know DD had to have some schooling before she became a para.
The rent at the place I am looking at does have a year lease. I am starting to wrap my brain around the fact that chances are that I will not have an attached garage, I know that is something that raises the rent, so I have to decide what I want more, and that fact is: money!!! LOL!!
The last day of school, if there is not any snow make up days, will be June 7th. Of course I will be looking forward to that, especially if things work out to where I would be moving when I need to, which would be aprox May 31st.
Not a fan of sushi either.
Carol, I am pretty sure my DD had to take some kind of course, for the title of para. But of course, there is a chance I could be wrong, lol.
Yes, we really scaled back a lot, when we moved here. But then over the last 5 years, we have added things here and there, since we have the room. I have been walking around saying to myself: I need to get rid of this, or that. Makes me a bit sad.
That is funny about your whole family snoring. Must have been noisy!!
I agree that whole Vegas area should be on everyone's travel list to visit at least once. But for me, that one time was enough.
I see that the electric company there in Texas is getting some of the blame on those fires in the panhandle, with the wires. There is even a contact set up for ranchers and residents to file a claim for payment with them.
Things going very fast here at casa Karen. Emailed the office of the new building yesterday morning, with them sending 17 pages of part application and part rules and info, and I have an appointment to take a tour of the place, Monday after work. Things are getting real, very fast!!! Crossing my fingers that with jumping through all their hoops, I will like the place, and that I will pass all their criteria. A few days ago, I would never have imagined this happening at this time!!!
Guess I better start looking for boxes, maybe at Aldi's.
