This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning and happy Sunday!
Well, MIL did not come home yesterday. So, we pretty much just hung around the house all day waiting to hear b/c his father (who was at the hospital with her) said that he'd need help getting her from the car into the house and asked if we could come when she got released. Of course we agreed, but I was a little perplexed. BIL was spending the day helping his girlfriend clean out her father's house who just passed away a few weeks ago. That house is literally 10 minutes from the hospital and 5 minutes from FILs house...but he wanted us to drive an almost 90 minutes to help out. IDK how the timing of that would even work out well for MIL or for us...but whatever.
Anyway in proof that they will complain about anything and everything, the first call was that he didn't know how they could in good conscious release her with her still being in so much pain. The second call a couple of hours later was that the nurse said that the Dr. who would need to decided to release her was not even in the building and how do they even run a hospital like that?
I was like Wait! What?! He doesn't even think she needs to be released but he's bitching that the guy that he doesn't even want to release her isn't there to not do it? WTHeck?! There's more, but I just really can't get into it. Suffice it to say that they expect to have their but kissed by everyone, but have no qualms treating those same people like crap. IDK, but when the call comes, I might let DH go help on his own. IDK if I can even be around them right now without lecturing them on how they treat people.
Anyway, we may or may not do the gym/track later. Or I might go on my own when/if Dh has to go help his parents. I do remember when my dad was in the hospital being told that they almost never release patients over the weekend. So I guess we'll see.
I hope everybody has a good Sunday. It's chilly here this morning and I actually had to switch back again from A/C to Heat. Lol.
OH...I made crispy air frying chicken legs and Bang Bang sauce for dipping for date night meal and we rented Oppenheimer. We've been wanting to see it for a LONG time, so glad that we finally did.

Hi Everyone, Lora, sorry for all the drama that unfortunately seems endless, right? Hope you get to the gym at least.
About a week or so ago when I was at Walmart on my way out to pay I noticed this toaster oven that had an air fryer component to it. I wasn't actually looking for that as I really was looking for a new smaller microwave than I have as it is time to replace. My toaster oven is okay still but maybe something I'd consider when buying a new one.
Haven't decided yet which direction I want to go today and the buses don't run on a great schedule today but I think I head to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription which is a bit past where I went yesterday. If there is anything else I might need I could get there I suppose. I am looking forward to getting my car back. It has been a pain without. I could get a rental car but don't want to pay the cost when I can get around free on the buses even though not as convenient. I wouldn't want to drive it to where I work but no where seems safe anymore. If something happens to it I'd have a 500.00 deductible or depending on what at least another 200.00. Free to me is better even though less convenient.
Ok, hope everyone has a good day. Bbl.

Good morning,
Lora, geez, just when you think drama has lightened up for you, here it is again! I hope the BIL will decide to help out.
Susie, that's so great that you can help out with the GKs like that.
Janet, its good that you can take the bus, but I know it will be so great to get your car back. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I got a lot done yesterday. It rained all day, so I did laundry, kitchen cleanup, and did some sewing and repaired some pants for YDD. It is sunny today, but very windy and a bit chilly. I need to make a quick trip to the store, but I'm going to do more laundry and change all my bedding later. Other than that, no big plans. I hope everyone is having a decent weekend. I'll be back, but waving to all for now,
RobinMD

Happy Sunday! Lora, I hope your MIL's pain subsides and that the drs. find out what is causing it. An hour and a half a way during an uncertain time frame and BIL is right there... I can see the frustration, for sure. I read earlier this week about your own mother passing and a song comes on and such, I totally get it. I have certain songs that I hear that remind me of my mom, whom I miss so much. Yes yes, I agree about the gym helping us age better. I think the weights will be key for warding off so many ailments, and I am thankful that I am going to the gym, even though it's still not my favorite thing. Janet, when will you get your car back? I hope soon!! I agree with your taking the bus logic. If it saves, I get it. Even though for me that is just to a point. Susie, I love your "coffee" mornings. Also it's nice you can go watch your DGS, and it's memory making time too. Jana, I hope you are feeling better today and that the meds. have kicked all the sickness out. How was the firepit time with your DD? Robin, that is great you take your dog to the groomer; I groom our Yorkie and it's time to do that this weekend. I've been dealing with a diverticulitis flare this week, and I think the chicken broth has done it's thing, so I am not calling in for an antibiotic. Phew. I'll still go easy for a few days, but thankful I know the early signs and that chicken broth sometimes helps. The antibiotics I take for it are so strong that I always feel awful on them. Friday night we enjoyed a baseball game at the university here. Yesterday I went to Kohls and purchased a couple of summer tops which was fun. I am not finding as many things there as I used to, so I think next time I'll head to Belk. This afternoon I am headed to the gym then I have to run into school to pick up my IPad for a professional development I am going to tomorrow in Jacksonville. Waving hit to everyone!

Hi again! I didn't really check today's forecast and I was already out walking about to head towards the bus stop and it started to rain. Not real heavy but didn't know if it would get heavier. I thought about just going over to the two shops nearby and decided if I am able to pick up my car tommorow I will be right up there on my way home so could stop then to get it. I don't have anything that I need right this minute so decided to walk back to my apartment. I have some vacuuming and I may put in a load of laundry. I will of course read with Cassie probably on my lap. I have to get back on my laptop for a few minutes. Jill, sorry your diverticulitis is bothering you again. I have that according to the colonoscopies I have had. What type of symptoms do you get when it flares up? Just so I would be aware if I have symptoms that could be connected to a flare up with diverticulitis. I am not aware that I have but might be helpful to know for future.

Well, I went to the gym and dropped DH off at the park and he walked the track & he took his basketball and shot hoops while I worked out. I've got a little bit of a kink in my neck/shoulder, I guess I must have slept wrong or something. But I did mostly lower body and then a little bit of work with the Smith machine and did some weighted squats. I was the only one there again, so pretty much could do whatever the heck I chose. So, it looks like MIL isn't going home today, and who even knows about tomorrow. Luckily this is FILs off week for his chemo treatments. Robin - You're so right. Just when I think things are settling down... Here I was starting to seriously look for a doggo again, and then this happens. Enjoy your Sunday. It does indeed sound like you had a very productive Saturday! Janet- sorry the rain interrupted your plans, but good that nothing was urgent. Jill - Oh goodness! I'm so sorry that the diverticulitis kicked up, I know that's just miserable for you. Good to hear that your symptoms seem to be subsiding and you're getting back on track. I agree that the strength training goes a long way toward aging well. From improving muscle and bone density and lowering risk of osteoporosis to improving insulin sensitivity which lower the risk of a whole laundry list of autoimmune situations. I wish I'd know the science behind it all sooner, but really just glad that I do now. Plus...I just love the thought of being strong. Well, not much else from here right now. But stay tuned...the quiet times don't seem to last for long.

Hello All - after church I decided to go to the movie theatre since the show doesn't start until almost half an hour AFTER show time (12:00). I went to see Cabrini and it was really good. I came home and DH didn't want to go out so we ordered a "carry out" from a place a block away and I went to pick it up. We will just chill the rest of the day. It is very windy and that is making it extra chilly.
I went to neighborhood BINGO last night - didn't win at bingo, but I did win the 50/50 ($50 YIPPEE).
Lora - Sometimes it is just hard to figure people out!! I agree that you should just let DH go if his parents need his help today.
Janet - being without a car is the pits, but at least you have the bus option.
Robin - good job on your very productive day yesterday. The pic of the little dog on FB was really cute.
Jill- Going to my gym class is NOT my favorite either, BUT I am happy that I did it when it is over! Sorry about the diverticulitis flare up. I don't go to Kohl's much anymore, but I did just buy 2 tops, a pair of slacks and shorts at COSTCO -- lol.
Jana - thinking of you and hope you are feeling better.

Hi again, It was still windy and chilly but it appeared that it stopped raining so after doing some vacuuming and wiping dust (wont let me write out the word) Dustin. Lol! I decided to venture out and went to get my prescription and some other stuff. Stopped nearby at the Dollar Tree and came home. Am now relaxing with Cassie on my lap about ready to read. Threw my laundry in first though. My vacuum cleaner for some reason all of a sudden the switch that pushes the vacuum down to vaccum won't let it get into the position. It is supposed to make the vaccum get into the position. The button that pulls up the cord also won't pull in the cord. It was working just before I stopped to answer my phone. Odd, right? I am going to look in the book of instructions to see if I can do any trouble shooting. While the cord not pulling back in I guess can be a pain but not being able to put it in the correct position I can't use it like that.

Hello again,
I made it to the store and got a few things for the week. My DG now carries fresh fruits and vegetables, so I went there first to hopefully avoid a trip to the grocery store. I did get a new Swifter for a lot less. I saw that my friend up the street has spinach, kale, and strawberries already. I would have stopped but I didn't have cash to put in the box, so I'll get some tomorrow and stop on the way home from work. YDD called to see what kind of tomatoes I want this year because she is starting her seeds now. She is going to start some canning ones and sandwich ones for me. I need to do some canning...I'm down to two jars of home canned now. She said she was going to get out in the garden today but it was really cold. The wind is still gusting up to 40 mph and the wind chill is low 30s. It snowed hard for a while this afternoon. I was wishing I had worn a warmer coat to the store!
Janet, I hope you can figure out what happened with the vacuum. So frustrating!
Lora, hopefully you won't be sidetracked from looking at fur babies for too long!
Susie, the dogs always like to be included in the pictures! I hope you are having a relaxing evening.
Jill, I hope you are able to stay ahead of this flare up.
I am almost ready to head upstairs. I just need to finish getting the coffee ready. I have no idea what the weather is doing tomorrow but the wind is still howling for now! I always get an accurate report for the day every morning while I'm getting ready, so I can figure out what to wear under my scrubs at that time. I hope the Daylight Saving Time change doesn't get to me tomorrow! Have a great start to your week,
RobinMD
