The sun woke me early this morning...before 5:30. I couldn't go back to sleep although I did try to. So, early breakfast and start to the day with a bit of sunshine while sitting outside feeding Bella breakfast. My husband ate at least three hours after I had breakfast so think we will be having lunch at different times and not together. He has a full schedule but we might find time to go to pick up the ceiling fan-light sometime today.
The chat with our granddaughters didn't happen. The oldest was at a sleepover and time change and then internet and other things got in the way. We did talk to our son on WhatsApp for a bit and learned their news while letting him know we are both fine, too.
I reset my Healthi app to the earlier counting of points method now that it is allowing me to search for foods again and as there are no planned potlucks or meals out should have a clear week to knuckle down and get back on track again.
Today I Can: track every BLT, weigh and measure, hydrate, walk 30 minutes while reading, and stay positive.
JUNE: I have no idea if my reviews impact sales of books but do know that I look at reviews before requesting a new-to-me author to see if it might or might not be a book I would enjoy. I am guessing that new authors who have no review base or books previously reviewed appreciate the review I post as it provides insight into their writing but...who knows? I am sure that BIG AUTHORS don't need my reviews as much as some do but still have publishers requesting a review from me so...perhaps they help?
MJ: From what you write I get the feeling that you enjoy your YM affiliation-volunteering more than the other thing you do for MB. Both sound like WORK but one sounds more rewarding.
SUSI: Poor ferals not in tune with the time change. My daughter was out spray painting purple paint on trees to mark the boundaries of their property - to keep the hunters out - and came across a three-legged cat that followed them till dogs chased and scared it off. She said that if the cat finds their house they would try to rehome it with someone but that the cat did look like it was finding something to eat and able to hunt. How was the new grocery store?
BEE: Weighing in before going to Mike's to see what is what in a week is a good idea.

Good morning. June - Decisions, decisions, decisions. Cathy - At least you got to catch up Bee- Yay, Prayers continue MJ - I know you will take family time over racing any day Waving to LaDonna and Ann
The supermarket was INSANE! I got some beautiful Norwegian salmon and broccoli rabe (and other fresh produce) but most of the other departments (pre made like bakery and deli) were beyond slammed. Visit with Marge was good. She has started chemo. She has one more biopsy this morning that will determine the final "cocktail" and is scheduled to go home later today. Fortunately, her brother is doing very well so a little less worry for the moment. Daria is also going home today and can't wait. I'm waiting for the Tylenol to kick in before I do my exercises as I am a little sore this morning. The wind is wild. I'll be staying mostly in today.
S - Usual coffee B - Broccoli rabe and hot pepper wrap L - Avocado toast D - Lamb chops, sauteed garlic spinach

Good morningβ little brisk here and there is a dusting of snow on the ground, but the drive and road are clear. We will take it.
Cathy Itβs shaping up to be a OP week for you! Super that reinstalling HealthiApp has enabled you to search points. Will be very helpful to track with confidence. Happy that had a way to chat with your son and catch up on family news. Huh. . . Never heard of marking trees with purple to alert hunters to property lines. Will ask Richard if he has. Thx for explaining your book reviewing services.
Susi Wonderful that your PT is progressing and doable with only Tylenol for pain management. Forgot to ask. How is your PT being managed? Are there videos? Illustrated list with pre-surgery instructions? Glad that you and Carol could visit with Marge. Wishing her the best as she starts chemo. Hope Dariβs return home goes smoothly.
Yep. . .decisions, decisions, decisions. At least I have my sister, Karen, to help me. And we have made real progress over the year with essentially several major home improvements.

Yes, it seems like Karen has been a huge help with a lot of the decisions. I had an instruction sheet for 6 exercises to do the 1st week. He demonstrated the additional "wall walking" and "table walking" to be added this week. There is no formal PT for this particular surgery.

Prayers for all our loved ones who are in particular need... and especially for Susi and Ann...

Son#1's entire company is closed today for a "mental health day" - that means that we didn't have to get up by 6 AM to get him to the train. We planned to sleep in <jinx><jinx>.
We had a surprise at the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Last year and this year, we were asked to carry the American Irish Association of Woodbridge's street-size American flag. Last year we were behind the initial marching units, the John Basilone Detachment of the Marine Corps League and their two vehicles. This year they weren't able to muster a color guard. They're familiar with us from other parades and thought tha it would be fine for us to lead the entire line of march. Of course, they didn't tell the woman who was running the final lineup... but when she went just a bit ballistic (at 1:25 PM) I suggested that we go speak to the <ahem> men who had come up with that idea (esp since the TV-35 team and the parade announcer need correct information). And yes, ma'am - we were ready to step off ON TIME at 1:30 PM.
The steady high winds and higher gusts make flag handling very challenging and the Kressling was pressed into service to help anchor the back row. They did a great job - that American flag never touched the ground! And when they were done, they got that flag folded up and stowed in its bag in good order. The Kressling and I returned it to our contact person at the American Irish Association party and by the grace of God, it was DRY (we took it out after a light shower at 1 PM and it was stowed before the heavier showers started at 2:30 PM).
After the parade, the Kressling went over to Coach Carmelot's house and then he and Son#1's whole family ended up here for a while. The Kressling stayed until 8 PM, talking to Toots a lot and then just hanging out with Pippin (of course, there was dinner).
I was crocheting and watching TV all evening. We missed a lot of the NASCAR race when everybody showed up; we'll catch the replay.
Coffee... βββ... lunch...
πππππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππππ
MπΊB & T: There was more drama on Sunday evening that only served to reinforce my decision to bow out. MB now says that "HE will do all the web design and programming for the Upsell product". OK, fine. That's in his skill set. But how about ALL THE OTHER THINGS that are not done, that ONLY HE can do, that are delaying everyone else in completing THEIR work? And how about all the REGULAR things that are supposed to happen on his platform this week? Are those all canceled/pushed off onto others? If so, is THAT plan made yet? (note: 3/17-24 is his Maui Healing Retreat and for THAT week, there is a substitute crew in place). ππ€£πππ€£πππ€£π

Afternoon all, I had a busy weekend with family, chores, etc. I popped in from time to time to read and see what you all were up to. Today is back to work Monday and KOKO. I've had a healthy salad for lunch and dinner is up in the air. Its a chilly day but the latter part of the week gets better and better. I like the extra daylight hours but feel better on standard time for some reason...Hope you all are adjusting better than me.
June, I'm by no means rushing Laken out the door but since she is leaving anyway I'll go ahead and say it will be nice to get the house organized. I'm planning some things for her room. The guest bedroom I'd fixed up after my son moved out has become a catch all room for things Laken has been collecting for her house etc. Will have lots to do once she has gotten all her things moved.
Cathy, I'm glad your app started working again.
Bee, you handle those smidgens so well
Susi, I pray Marge will do well with her treatments. I'm going to get my activity in indoors as well. Pollen flying everywhere as the wind is up and its chilly.
MJ, today is a great day for mental health! I could definitely get on board with that. What is it that MB is marketing? If you said, I don't recall.

What is it that MB is marketing? If you said, I don't recall. Parts Work is a method used in psychology for identifying "subpersonalities" / Parts and integrating them into a better-functioning individual. MB is a Level 3 Parts Work practitioner (a coach, not a therapist; no degree in psychology) who has developed a way to look at our "Parts" with a particular focus on weight management. I will say that when MB coaches individuals whom he discerns need the guidance of a licensed therapist, he does not hesitate to tell them that he is not going to go further with them - that it is outside of his area of expertise.
My DDIL uses Parts Work in her practice; it is also possible for the layperson to learn about it and use it without being in the presence of a coach or therapist (have you ever said, "Part of me wants to..."?).

Susi You would be the ideal patient for at-home, self guided PT. Both the wall walking and table walking exercises are so helpful for recuperating the shoulder. Mom and R worked with those exercises. Yes, K has been a blessing. I honestly have never really cared about home decorating. On a scale of 1-10, I am most often at 2. When we have undertake home renovations, they been big projects. Previously, we took 3 down to the studs: kitchen, dining area, and bathroom. Feel fortunate that R and I are capable.
MJ Impressive! Congrats to the YMs for having built a stellar reputation and for being able to adapt. Kudos on proper handling of the large-sized American flag. Loved that you had some family time on Sunday night. Those impromptu visits are something special. And the race is still availableβ so it is a win-win. Yay to sleeping in! Adding another hmmmm. . . Perhaps a strong dose of reality from being in charge would help MB shift from theoretical thinking and role-playing mode. He clearly does not comprehend the amount nuts and bolts work left to accomplish.
LaDonna Getting very excited for Laken and her next big step. Do you have any plans for Lakenβs room? I got to tell you that I have enjoyed sitting in in my study. (I put it there to give Amy a place to nurse or soothe the baby). Such a different vibe from grinding away at my desk on my PC.

Happy to share this: My niece, Amy, is being sworn in today as a county solicitor general by the GA governor. She has been serving as the interim SG since the end of last year. What is truly wonderful is that Isaac will be there to hold the Bible. (my brother & his wife received this Bible when they married. With her beautiful handwriting, my mother inscribed some of our family history inside). I cried a few happy tears.
