Ruth- will your weather be warm enough so that you do not have to clean off the cars cause the snow will melt? That is always nice..
Got some errands to run this morning, one of them is to pick up my machine. See you later. Hope everybody slept well.

Hello - Hope you are all doing well and the weather isn't too bad. It's been very mild here this week, with temps in the 70s. I think it's supposed to get a bit cooler this weekend. The house sale is on hold because of several problems that have come up, so I'm having to deal with all of that and it looks like it could be up to a month before I can hopefully proceed with the sale. So I haven't felt like doing any crafting and actually put all my fabrics for the Moda blocks away, because it was bothering me to look at them and not feel like making something. Hopefully I can make it through the next month and have a positive outcome on the house sale. I may not post every day but I'll check to see how you are all doing Have a good weekend!

The weather was warm enough that the snow did finally slip off the car and it did start melting the hills caused by plowing. We aren't planning to go anywhere anyway though but I like when I can see that in case of emergency we'd be able to get out.
Ginny, I hope you were able to get your machine back today. If course sometimes we're just too tired to do some things and have to wait another day.
CJ, I'm so sorry that issues came up on your house sale. Why do they have to make things so complicated. We're sure with you in hoping all this will be settled soon
I need to sew buttons on the wallets. They are mostly done except for that although I'd like to make a couple more. I dislike sewing buttons on. DDIL sent me a picture a couple days ago of my baby granddaughter wearing a bonnet. It wasn't one I made. I asked who made it and said that I knew it wasn't me because I've never made one like that. (actually it was a very poorly made one and wasn't nice at all). She said they all thought I made it because I'm the only person that loves them enough to make things...it warmed my heart to hear that. Anyway she also a while back sent me a picture of the baby in a poorly made and ugly sweater. It was knitted. I didn't make that one either. So today I started making one of my "signature" bonnets. (I've heard people talking about their signature this and that so I decided today that I'd call this bonnet my signature bonnet). I made one before she was born and it was a tiny one so I'm sure it doesn't fit her now and probably never did wear it.Babies just grow too fast for tiny size things

CJ- post and check in with us when you are able to and want to. I remember the process of selling my mother’s house was insane, and i felt as though there was always another hurdle to jump- another “problem” with the house and the sale. Plus sometimes there are issues with documents- death certificates, building permits etc.. many entities were a pain in the neck and it all drove me nuts. Hope it goes smoothly for you and you are, in a month done with the sale!!
Ruth, well I figured that the minute I read about the bonnet which was poorly made, that you would get busy making a signature bonnet for the little one!! (What color will it be?). I am sure it will be special for her and for the family….indeed babies sure do grow so quickly and outgrow those newborn things. DD brought back the sweater knitted by my mom so that I can wash it- it has a tiny discolored spot on it that should come out in gentle soaking. I do understand how those family heirlooms are and are cherished. Hope sewing on the buttons is not too much of a hassle for you, and I bet they are tiny and tough to work with. Who will you be making more wallets for?
Sillyme- what are you up to this weekend?
DD #2 came over with the little ones and I watched them while she got her hair cut. I am running out for a quick errand…then hope to come home and just relax. Felt like I have not done enough of that recently after a week with a lot of family visits…but so good to see the family members that I do not often see.

I do have the bonnet almost done. It's easy to make except there is a little sewing involved and ends to weave in. I hope it's big enough for her. This one is made in white because I found some King Cole Comfort yarn in my stash. It's very nice yarn and works up nicely.White and a strange shade of blue are the only ones I have. The one I made for her before she was born is pink.DDIL sent three pictures yesterday with baby wearing a sweater I made. I'm planning on making some more baby sweaters like it to put in my "save for future great grands" collection.
Ginny, did you get your machine back. If so did you do a test run to see how well it works now? I do hope you'll be able to just rest and relax. Your week ahead probably is busy like it always is.

Hello - Happy St. Patrick's Day Hope you are all doind well today and having good weather. It's still been very mild here. Ginny - Hope you were able to pick up your sewing machine and that you were able to relax last night. Ruth - It's so nice that you are able to make a bonnet for your DGD. I'm really happy for you that your family are sharing pictures of them using and enjoying the items you've made for them. isillyme - Hope you've been able to do some crochet. Thanks for your support on the house sale problems. It's so disappointing and depressing that my closing was supposed to be a few days ago and now if it even happens it's going to be at least a month from now. There are problems with the boundaries for my house/land and I'm having to deal with getting surveys done to verify the property lines. There is also a legal matter that I'm having to deal with too and I'll be looking for a lawyer. These problems are due to things my parents did with the property many years ago Even though this is going to cost me several thousand dollars, the money is not as important to me as getting the house sold. Now I'm going to have to find someone to cut the grass at least in April, and I've probably complained about that each year for the last several years, so you know what a hassle it is for me. And I'll still have to check on the house a few times a week. That can be up to an hour and half round trip every time. I've been trying to keep myself busy so I don't think about this, I just have to take each step and a time and hope it all works out This morning I pulled out my quilting things again and I got my blocks up to date for the Temperature quilt and I also made the Moda Blockheads block from March 6th and cut the fabrics for the block on March 13th and hope to get it sewn this afternoon. That will get me up to date with that quilt along. Then I have a few star blocks to make for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and everything I currently have going will be up to date. Maybe then I can just pull out a fun quilt kit to work on. Take care

CJ, I'm very, very sorry that you have to deal with all these issues on your house. Not only are they depressing but also very expensive which makes them even more depressing.I'm sure when I try to sell mine I'm going to have depressing issues too. One of them won't be boundry lines at least but I do think there are foundation issue and other things the people that built this house did ns did weirdly. So not to take away from your issues but just wanted to tell you this because it shows that I can relate and later will be able to relate even more when I face these things.I just hope and pray that this all goes a lot easier for you from this point on.I'Im glad you were able to feel enough better that you could take out fabric and do a little quilt therapy. I'm sure Ginny feels the same as I do in that, although none of us has ever met and in fact have not even spoken on the phone, that we care about you very much. It makes me sad to see that you have to go through all this just to sell a house.
Ginny and Sillyme I hope you're both having a good day and doing some things you enjoy.
I did get the bonnet done and if I say so myself it's beautiful! I think it's the prettiest one of these I've made. I hope it fits and she gets to wear it at least once and that they put it away when she's done with it so that their grandchildren to be will be able to wear it too.I have one more button to sew on one of the wallets and I'm done with things to send right now. I do keep seeing more things I want to make but now I need to get back to the afghans. I need to get the one done by a month from today so I'm sure I can do that. Then the week after that we find out when dh's surgery is so I have to get things together to work on while waiting. I thought I did that but now want to change my plans.
See you all later

Silly me- how has your weekend been? Were you able to crochet at all?
Ruth- congrats on getting the bonnet done! I am sure it’s magnificent, anytime I have seen anything you have made it’s been so pretty. Yes, I hope it fits DGD perfectly and that she can wear it this spring and perhaps into the fall a bit after summer heat is gone. Then of course if she does not have a full head of hair, then it will be useful on cool simmer evenings. There was a free shipping deal at Mary Maxim the other day, did you pick up any additional yarn? You have made good progress on both afghans, both DD and DH’s- are either almost done? I know DD’s fifth day is only a few weeks away. You must be anxious to find out when Dh’s procedure is, and how long his recovery is. I am hoping that it is a date that is easy to work around, not too long a wait.
CJ- oh my heart aches for you …like Ruth, I am going to share some details of the sale of my mom’s house… not to take away at all from the pain and aggravation you are experiencing, but to inform you that it is normal. The buyer- who was the only interested buyer because my mom’s house is on a busy road and did not have an updated kitchen, asked for new insulation in the attic, the roof to be “shampooed”, a radon test and an abandoned septic tank to not only be collapsed but removed (the town put in a sewer system a few years after my parents built the house) . Honestly, regarding the septic tank, most people would have been happy just to have the tank collapsed…but this nutty woman insisted it be removed at an additional cost to me.And I am sure I am forgetting all the other stupid details this woman wanted. It seemed as though every day I would get another email or phone call asking for something else to satiate her. Ok, I did give her an allowance for the roof shampoo (which she did not have done), I did get the attic re-insulated and I had to spend about $5000 for a radon remediation system. On the day before closing, she went for a final inspection and somehow the garage door opener (which had worked 2 days prior for me) did not work. I heard the buyer had a hissy fit over that….so I contacted the handyman who had done some work for me (my mom’s house was an hour away) asking him to check it out. He did and indeed said that the opener did not function that day. I might still have the email in which I told my lawyer that I would give the buyer an allowance of $125 ( about half the value of a new opener, uninstalled) and that I was tired of the buyers nonsense, having given in to all of her previous whims. It was a take if or leave it option- if she did not accept that offer I would walk away from the sale. It was a reasonably firm email- one in which I indicated I was tired of the buyers nonsense. Thankfully she accepted and the sale went through…In addition to that the utility company made me drag out my fathers death certificate (he has been gone over 40 years) because my mother never changed the name on the account to hers.. It was one insane request after another…. It killed me to write another check for taxes, utilities or landscaping/lawn maintenance. Do what you have to do to complete this deal and sell the house. But please know that my sympathy is with you and I know how frustrating this process can be.
The Husky came home on Friday- and this weekend I have gotten some crocheting done and some sewing.
Another week starts tomorrow…where does the time go?
