Good morning.
27, clear, going to 62 later, with a breeze.
Robin, about the groceries and the stairs, remember, I normally do not have a lot of grocery bags, and most of them can be in the plastic bags, so at the most I have 2 trips on the stairs, but I don't do them both right away; I bring up whatever needs refrig or freezer first, then pace myself going down to get the rest. The other day I bought a big package of toilet paper, and it sat down there till I came back from taking the garbage, Saturday morning. You figure it out, once you have to.
It sounds like your pretty black dress was well suited for the rest of the room the other night. I bet you are glad you did not go get a new one! Oh wow, I can't remember the last time I was actually up that late, fully dressed, not just going to the bathroom, lol. Not surprising that you are a little worse for the wear, what with that and the time change.
Gareth, yes, the money saved is between the raise in the rent here, and the lower rent there, if I get it. I hate having to worry about the possibility that I will not be approved for the apartment. But that is what us women do best, isn't it? The new place could be a little further away, but it is less driving in wooded areas, (no more worrying about a deer jumping out at me), but all on main streets. I think the thing with Bob is, he is opening up a bit more about his personal life. I found out he was married twice. I took it upon myself to snoop on his FB page last night, and it seems he is very well liked, by a lot of people. He is very, into his grandkids. But we kind of knew that already.
Good that the doctor put DGD on meds, to kick that cough. Maybe this weekend for the celebration?
About stairs, we had the basement at the house, with the laundry room down there, but I was not doing a lot of wash, maybe once or twice a week, so I had to get used to doing these stairs when we moved here, and by now, 5 years later, I do not even think of them, except when hauling groceries, with my lungs a bit touchy, that is the only thing I have to take care of, otherwise, you do get used to do them.
Pinky, your nicer weather is coming our way today. The weekend was a bit chillier, but with the sun out, it still feels nice.
Wow, sorry about the DDIL's brother. Weird accident! Over on the west side of the state, there was a van/semi accident, with 8 of the 9 people in it, dying. I guess a child is the only survivor. The van full of people were just passing through the area, they were not residents, and I guess extended family from Virginia were coming up to get the child.
You have my condolences for your DBIL. I guess it is good that you were all prepared, right? Still, the pain of him being gone is still there.
Thanks, sometimes I feel, from the speed the other men sort of had, that Bob and I are dragging our feet, but if he needs to go slow, that is fine, I have my hands full right now anyway.
Yeah, I am pretty sure the para's have some kind of training they have to go through.
Anngie, thanks, I too am happy, about Bob. I was at the end of my rope, somewhat with the dating app crap. It just gets so old. The paperwork took me all weekend, what with it being a somewhat busy weekend, of course I had to worry about the 17 pages to go through. Some of that was just instructions, or rules to be read, so at least there was that. But some of the things I had to sign! Like not being a student, or not getting unemployment compensation! My goodness!!
Furniture! No, I cannot bring it all, which is heartbreaking, but it is what it is. DDs are coming over Saturday, I think, to see if anything, they can take things from here. I doubt it, as they have smaller homes, and after all these years, are pretty well set with their decor. I have a chair in each bedroom, hopefully the new bedroom will be able to fit one, plus I have in the other bedroom a cheval mirror I use when getting dressed to see how the clothes look on me, which may not be able to go. And some of the living room furniture. I will miss the fireplace, even though I do not use it for heat. DH pretty gun cabinet won't be able to go. I have that tall palm tree, with the high ceilings here it works well, don't know if that will fit. Oh well!!!
Carol, I too have a hard time going to sleep after coming home from an event. It has been many years since I have been to a wedding, so I have no idea as to the in thing for the bridesmaid's dresses. I know from what I see at prom season on IG pictures, the girl's dresses for that can sometimes be a bit revealing, or short.
I used to be very careful doing these stairs here, but you get so used to it, you do not even think of it eventually.
Yes, I had a good date with Bob, very hopeful we can at least become good friends. I do hope I can encourage him to unload his big house and get into a place that is easier on him. He said his DD's want him to move down in the valley, where they all live, and I just said, you have to decide where YOU want to live. Thanks, about the paperwork, I am so glad to have that done!! It took till 5 pm last night to be finished.
Nope, no interest in the Oscars. I had heard of Oppenheimer, so if I ever get a chance of watching that movie, I will.
Today is the tour, after work, then Thursday is the appt with the eye specialist. I am a bit nervous about that. I am hoping they find out what that aura is, it is so annoying! Also hope they say: let's schedule the cataract surgery.
The play yesterday was the best!!! And with it being the last play of the run, there were a lot of emotions going on throughout the cast and the audience. DGD was truly in her eliminate. She shone, I guess was the description. She was the mayor's wife, and the mayor is one of the others that is in the group of them that are going to state, from the solo ensemble. DD told me that DGD has a crush on Mr. mayor. I of course watched the interaction of them two more so, and I did not see anything from him that maybe he is crushed on her too. Ahhh the fun of high school life!!! Her next time in a play will be her last time, with her being in her senior year.
