This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning and Happy Monday!
No updates of changes yet related to MIL. And actually, I don't think she's even been out of the bed since she got to the hospital. I told DH this morning that there's a decent chance that unless she makes some miracle recovery today, that they might send her to rehab before sending her home. If she's not really mobile, and there's nobody there capable of helping her, I don't think she'll be going straight home.
Anyway, I guess I should make an appearance at some point. I'm thinking I might make a pot of soup t take to the house. Something for simple and easy meals.
Robin - I'm impressed that DD starts her own tomato plants from seeds. I tried once, many years ago and everything died right after it sprouted. Lol. Hoping I have better luck this year with growing them in pots. I hope it's not difficult to find "patio tomatoes" or "tomato bushes" already started at TSS, HD or Lowe's. And that they're not super expensive. Maybe I should try sprouting my own...again. And then if that doesn't work, look at buying plants. Now you've got me re-thinking my original plan. haha
I think I'm going to spend today hanging out around here and getting some things done. Have a magnificent Monday, everyone!

Hi,
Just a quick note from work.
Lora, she has impressed me immensely with her growing abilities. She starts everything from seed now, several varieties of peppers, squashes, lettuce, kale, eggplant, LOTS of tomato varieties, and her flowers. She got into it during covid lockdowns and she has put me to shame! She said that yesterday she made tomato soup with her canned ones from last year. She is starting most of her seeds right now in a couple of dozen seed trays. I had to water them last year, when they went on vacation. I am hoping my tomato crop does well this year, so I can can a bunch.
I am so tired this morning. Why should springing forward an hour be such an interference with my sleep patterns?! Anyway, work is going smoothly so far today, so I will make it through! I will be back. I hope everyone is having a good day!

Lora, I am hoping there's good news about your MIL this eve. That's a good idea making soup for them. What is a Smith machine at the gym? Janet, I think flare symptoms are different for each person. For me it's a certain pain that I've come to recognize on my left side of abdomen. Susie, how was the Cabrini movie? I grew up in Colorado, and I spent many great memories at the Cabrini shrine near Denver. Congrats on your free month!! Robin, that sounds absolutely wonderful what your DD is doing with the seeds, tomatoes, and gardening. It's impressive! Today was a good day in Jacksonville. It was a good meeting and a great carpool. We went to Panera for lunch, and I ordered chicken noodle soup. It was perfect. So, my YDS is calling for a mandatory family meeting tonight on zoom. I think he's announcing an engagement. Waving hi to all!

Hi Everyone, I picked up my car this afternoon at the collision place. I got the bus that goes to the elevated train station instead of the other buses I usually have been taking. I didn't have to wait too long either- about 10 minutes and about 5-10 for the train. Some jerk put/ left glass on the parking lot at my apartment complex. After I parked I got out and looked and there was the top part of the bottle just waiting for someone to run over and cause a flat. I think I may have possibly run over some but smashed up which I hope won't cause a problem either but not that big piece. Just what I need after paying for the mirror to be fixed.
Lora, sorry about your MIL.
We found out that my BIL in Isreal wasn't feeling well the other day and went to get some tests done. They did a catherization and had 2 stents put in. He is already home as they didn't put him under general anesthesia.
I fixed what was wrong with the vacuum cleaner. The cord somehow got stuck at the bottom of the vaccum where the button that wouldn't go down. Somehow I guess when I stopped the vaccum to answer the phone I put it in an upright position and it got caught without me realizing. So now I feel good that I fixed it and didn't even look for my booklet to troubleshoot.
Have a restful night.

Good evening! Well it looks like tomorrow afternoon for MILs release. Which is actually a bit more convenient for DH. He'll be working on base tomorrow, so that puts him A LOT closer to them than if he was trying to meet them from home. I got a batch of soup made up and also thawed out a 1/2 ham that I had in the freezer and got that sliced up to send along as well. We've got some impressive styrofoam boxes that we'd got when we'd ordered some meat from a subscription service during covid and I'll just pack everything in that with some ice packs and DH can just have it in his car. I'm thinking of it kept everything frozen during covid shipping, it should be fine for him to use tomorrow. Jill - the Smith machine is kind of like a big frame that you can use for different weight purposes. Commercial ones are usually pretty versatile, but ours is an older one, so only has one purpose...Lol. But it has a weight bar and that is attached to the frame, you step under it, get it on your shoulders, roll it back a little bit to "unhook" it from it's secure spot, but it never actually comes off of the frame...It slides up and down the frame until you roll it back towards the front a little to secure it again. I have no idea if this makes a bit of sense or not, but that's the best way I can explain it...Lol. You can add or subtract the individual weight plates on either side of the bar, just like you would any other weight bar. Basically, it slides up and down the frame, but never actually comes loose from the frame. It's great for situations when there isn't a spotter or other person in the gym, in case you get in a tight spot - which works out perfect at my gym. Lol. I found a video that likely explains it better than I can. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPWXdq7idrI
