Good morning.
44, clear, going to 70.
I did read last night that the last 2 weeks of March is going to be colder.
Robin, Ruby is going for theater, but not sure which college, it is between one in Chicago and one in New York; her and her counselor have been in talks with those 2, with her in a program that will pay for her to go tour them, hopefully this summer. She is a junior this year, just like my DGS.
The apartment building is directed to disabled and veterans first, then senior citizens, who have to meet certain income guidelines.
I do not want to bother both men in the family, as each has health issues that I would be worried about with the heavy furniture. What with the stairs, I would want to hire a mover.
You seem to lose power quite a bit, sorry you lost it the other day, making you run out for food.
Marsha, nice that you have a quiet week lined up at work, with the boss gone. Thanks for reminding me about my taxes, as I have put that in the back of my mind. Since I really do not get anything back or have to pay in, I just don't think of it at all.
Yes, it is a different kind of friendship with Bob.
Lol, when I went to look at the apartment yesterday, I had to take an elevator, and the whole time I kept thinking: I could have just run up the stairs, and it would have been quicker. But hopefully if I take it, I will get used to a slow elevator. I see in their workout room they have a recumbent bike, along with the treadmills. The apartment building is called Berkshire apartments. They have 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments, and townhomes. The rent for the 1 bed (for me anyway) is $895, the rent for the 2 beds, would be $1495. I will be going with the 1 bedroom.
Gareth, I have many feelings about the new apartment. I will get into that later. Thank you for your interest in it, it has been crazy so far, hasn't it? (with the speed things are going)
Back in the day, I would watch the Oscars too, but just got away from it over the years. Just no interest.
Hope everything went well with the eye doctor. I guess at my appt Thursday, I guess they will be dilatating my eyes. I can't recall ever having that done.
Anngie, thank you!! I was so glad to get back home to my VERY spacious apartment. Let me just say, it will be a big shock, if I move there, to go from this apartment, to that one!
It has been quite a few years since I have watched movies, except for the movie Rich and I watched last year, so if Bob and I ever get to the point of sitting together and watching movies, I will have to remember what you all have been saying for which ones to watch.
Carol, there are senior apartments here too, that are just 55 and over, but not income based, and then just income based, so this one is a bit different.
When we were in the house, we looked at moving out the same as you. But DH getting to the point with his health and not being able to take care of things is what made me decide to sell and go to an apartment. I hope that never happens to any of you all on this board. And to think that 2 years later he was gone is sometimes hard to believe.
You must have really needed that extra sleep.
The only 1 bed apartment available at this time is an ADA. The way the woman described it was I do not have a choice, yesterday, either take that one or go on a waiting list. So, I applied for that one. The only noticeable difference is the cupboards in the kitchen are lower. And there is a space in the kitchen for a wheelchair to be pulled up close to the counter next to the sink. I think I could use that space for maybe some racks or something. The shower in the bathroom is larger than mine here, for a wheelchair, but my mind went to some nasty thoughts that I won't go into here, lol!!! No carpeting except in the bedroom. Very small apartment, so small I do not think I could put my sofa in there.
They pay for heat, water, and Wi-Fi. The water/Wi-Fi would save me $118.99 right there. I would spend $25. extra a month on the covered parking. I would have to get a router.
I know it will be hard to get used to this whole thing; having so many people around me, and different income levels of people, and the very small apartment, but I really have to think of the future. (That is what I keep telling myself, but holy cow, it is hard!!)
