Good morning.
33, and clear. High to be 60, after breaking a record yesterday of 72.
Robin, I cannot and will not stay here and pay $100 more per month. Plus having to sign a 12-month lease, that is simply not an option. That $4500 that I quoted was an approximate figure, for a 1 bed. The 2 beds are $1400 per month. I might as well stay here for that. After the initial shock of everything, I am slowly adjusting to doing this, it has just been overwhelming, with just getting the email about the lease here, last week, it seems I have to move in high gear with it all.
Sorry about the watermelon, I was thinking of buying a half of one, but think I will wait awhile.
Pinky, our temps are doing the same thing as yours. Yesterday was just such a perfect day! Last night, with the bedroom window open, I heard lots of noise and got up to see the farmer that farms the field next to our complex plowing!! I think the word is tilling, driving that big machine, and with it being dark out, has a big spotlight or headlight on it, digging up the ground. That is the earliest I have seen them doing that, since we moved here!
I remember moving here, and what an adjustment it was, from going to living 20 years in the house in the woods. For a time, I was worried about DH, as he really was not happy! But we adjusted. I do know this is for the best. The whole set up at that building is perfect for senior citizens. Yes, she showed me a 2-bed apartment, and I was not impressed at all. It seemed all choppy, not a good flow. I have to give a 60 day notice here, to move, and my new lease starts June 1st, so that is the reason for the rush.
How fun to have the boys coming for a stay!! From what I gather, they will most likely have a wonderful time around the ranch/farm.
Marsha, what you said about me not needing the 2nd bedroom is exactly what my DS said too. I feel the same way. Plus, I am getting tired of cleaning this whole apartment, when it is just me, and hardly ever have company. Just a waste. Yes, I am sure there are stairs as that is required, for fire. Just have to find them.
Oh my, your talk of your chicken has me craving it. I love chicken but have not had any recently.
Yikes, so sorry about your DD and her knee. That just stinks, with her getting in her groove, getting active, then that kicks in! I hope the new shoes work, I know with my issues, it does come down to the proper shoes.
Gareth, yes this is a big scale down, but as I mentioned to Pinky, we did it with moving here from the house, and I refuse to scale back on my finances any more than I have. Why pay such a huge rent, when as I get older, being in an upper, with no elevator, something may happen, and I cannot go up and down anymore?
Thank you for the input about the dilation of the eyes, as all the paperwork I have about the procedure does not mention having a ride home, so I kind of wondered if the place I am going to dropped the ball on that info. So now I am not going to worry about it. I do have a pair of sunglasses, they are prescription glasses that I wear in place of my glasses, to drive.
Yay on the great eye checkup!! Good luck with the next eye specialist visit!!
Carol, yes, I am so happy that I have all of you to vent to and get input about all this. And that I have Bob to chat with about it. This is such a whirlwind and so much to absorb so fast! I cannot imagine going through this without any guidance and good support. I was shocked by the difference with the cost of the 2 apartments.
When I was pregnant with DD's, I was in my 20's, and of course way thinner, so I probably would have worn what is the normal now, but with looking at those styles with my 70-year-old brain; yeah, I would not wear that.
Anngie, yes, so much to think about. The apartments are for senior citizens, veterans and disabled. So, there will not be children living there. Service dogs are allowed, and small dogs under 35#. She did say they do not have any issues with the dogs barking. I saw a man outside in a motorized chair walking his dog. The issue with the no garage is something I need to get used to. I will gladly pay the $25 extra for the covered parking. I see there are spots available very close to the door to come in. Plus, there are cement (I think) tables and chairs close to the entrance of the building, back there, so at least there is something to put bags and such down to open the door. It is a very nice, somewhat upscale building, I think I have not put this place in a good light, my bad.
Holy cow! Your gas prices!! I was going to get gas Monday, but the place I get it from (the grocery store I shop at) had vehicles at every pump, and I just wanted to get home so I left. Their price for gas, as I just checked Gas buddy, is $3.09 a gallon.
I had to chuckle with talking to Bob yesterday, when I had him over for dinner Saturday, I sent him home with leftovers. He said he wants to know when I want him to return my container. I know he was hinting around, but I am not going to keep cooking for him. Guess he isn't good with taking it upon himself to say: want to go out for dinner? I did tell him I am not worried about getting that thing back, as now that I think of it, my cupboard of covered containers is something I will have to scale back on, hahaha!!!
