This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. Good morning!
It is a chilly 41 degrees right now (it was 37 yesterday though) and we are heading out soon to run with the group. DH tweaked his back so didn't go with me on Tuesday but seemed to be better yesterday (he golfed for 6 hours) so I think I am deeming him "much better". He is golfing again tomorrow....I think he is warming up for my retirement. Another long day yesterday but it ended with a haircut which is nice. Somehow I don't think that daylight savings is bothering me quite as much as it has in the past...either that or I am just used to feeling tired! Hoping that it is going okay for the rest of you. We got your winds yesterday and it is still windy this morning (thanks for sharing!) but it isn't rainy--yay!
Thirsty Thursday is the theme...don't forget to focus on your fluids! I got a new Hydroflask cup and am really trying to get three of them in each day. My Invisalign is looking like it might be complete on 4/22 so then I can linger over a cup of coffee again, but I do think that it has encouraged me to drink more water and I plan to continue that. I am tracking too trying to re-establish that habit.
Carole: It sounds like your sleep has been decent....nice! I love reading about your days as you continue to get into the swing of retirement. I had forgotten about your trip to NYC...sounds so fun! I would love to see NY in the spring or fall. Any word on the insurance for the Cpap? Hoping that is in your near future!
Sue: Yum, grilled cheese sounds yummy! Loving that you keep the boys in the kitchen with you to have fun learning how to cook. I also love hearing the noticeable changes to your health with the swimming....keep it up! It is SO good for you! The benefits to your mental health are there too.
Okay, time for me to get moving. My 2-day meeting in Sacramento starts today so not sure if I will have time to post during the day but I will try! Hope that you all have a good day!

Morning Gabrielle….quick hi before I head off to work! It’s setting up to be a pretty sunrise out my living room window….going to be 74 degrees today….over 20 degrees above normal! The overnight lows the next couple days will be the normal high this time of year….crazy!
Time to load up my lunch box and get some real clothes on! Will make a quick bank stop on my way home and catch up then…have a great day all and “drink up”!

Good Morning - Up and at 'em a bit earlier today! Going to be a beautiful day... time for flip flops! Hoping they will help my back. Not sure what I did - when - but yeah, it's not pretty!
Sue: Glad the pool and whirlpool are helping you. So nice to notice changes, and not worrying (so much) what the scale says. That was the theme of Colleen's Q&A last night. I have to say, I (again) am down 2#, but I wasn't as HAPPY about it as I used to be. I just want to FEEL BETTER!!!
Hey I heard CO is expecting a heck of a storm! Looks like the kids will have decent skiing when they go! It's supposed to be the biggest storm Denver has seen in the past three years!!
Oh Ken's biggest issue with moving the fridge is the cost! LOL If they move it back, they will have to put a header up above, since that wall is load bearing. So IF I compromise on the counter top, we can offset the cost of moving the fridge. I am getting frustrated - I have contacted 2 other places and they have not returned my calls! I have emailed Alex to ask just how much the difference is between the laminate and the quartz. Since our "cheap" Formica island is still in excellent condition - and it's been almost 30 years, we are rethinking the expense. Like I said, if we had these counters put in, by a pro, they would probably not need replacing, after (only) 10 years!! Anyway... seems like we are still contemplating.
Mary still needs "readers", but we were at the meeting so for the most part she wasn't wearing them. It's just odd. Once she has healed, they will give her glasses, the progressive that she's used to, easier than keeping track of readers! LOL
Easter pies will be 20 total. We have 8 pre-sold so that leaves the usual 12 for the table. Hitting Aldi's today for some supplies. We can get the pies done on Thursday & Friday, and still do donuts on Saturday morning.
Gabrielle: Thanks for getting us started this morning - hope the run has gone well. Sorry you got the winds, but I am so glad they are not here any longer. Ken sure has his work cut out for him, picking up branches out there! LOL Maybe Sunday we will get out to get some trimming done? Who knows!
Oh I forgot to tell you (yesterday), I am going today for my CPAP! They called Tuesday. I said I was confused - the Dr. said they delivered it! She said no... they only deliver when I need my 5 year replacement?? UGH! Anyway... We will go there this morning at 11, then to Aldi's for shopping, then circle around for my Integrative doctor appointment at 3:30! Going to be a long day - but will be moving, and getting a lot done in one trip! The nice weather is a BONUS! LOL
Christine - Jenny - Jo... Hope you are having a good week.
♥hugs♥

Good morning all
Today is the day it starts the warm up, it’s going to get up into the 70’s all weekend, I’m hoping to get the leaves all picked up and into the barrel and start winter clean up in the yard. We have a beautiful sunrise right now so I’m enjoying that.
Well it certainly was an interesting first part of the week. They did talk to Barbie, but she refused to be in the same room as the big boss Fred, with out recording the conversation or HR to be present. They wanted to dock hours now and put her partime , she refused and sent a letter to the company HR and the Vice President and the President of the company to report him. This is his 3rd or 4th time someone has reported him. It’s going to be an interesting situation to watch. I’ll keep ya posted.
Audrey made it home safe and sound Sunday, she stayed over Monday and Tuesday night, she got her taxes done and gets around 1400.00 back with both state and federal. We get around 10,000 back between the two as Well so my visa bill will be paid off, just in time to go to visit our Carole, yeah😀

We have a potluck to go to Saturday at some of Kerry’s high school friends, it will be nice to visit with them for a bit.
My poor sister had to put down her other dog earlier this week, his stomach got turned and unfortunately it’s a thing in large breed dogs that they can go through, he was a black lab. I felt so bad for her, she just had to put Molly down in November and now Trigger so they are dogless now.
Carole yeh to your CPAP finally arriving, I hope you get better sleep with it. I love mine. Yes I too saw that Colorado is having a huge storm coming in. Audrey got out of Utah just at the right time. Oh I bet you’re excited to go to Arizona, I’ve been there a lot for the NASCAR races. We saw the Grand Canyon and Vegas as well. You will enjoy the weather. If you get time go to Sedona Az, it has the red rocks and even Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac has a house somewhere there, they have a church built into one of the sides of the giant red rocks. It’s a cute little town. Jerome AZ is a neat little town built into the hillside to.

Sue that was a great re-creation of the grandson with the oven mitts he’s a great sport. I read the article on the Today show about WW, I’m happy for the guy who shed that many pounds, I bet he feels great. A lot of weight loss is mentality of wanting to loose this weight, I just wish I could get my head in The program like I used to be. Good for you getting to the pool, I will walk tonight as well on the Matt, I’ve managed to stay the same this week as last week. Hopefully something will budge sometime.
Gabrielle enjoy your run. Is your weather going to warm up this weekend, it was clear and 37 degrees this morning so I had to scape my window. I hope you’re enjoying your week.
I’m gotta run, I need to figure out what to bring to my potluck, maybe deviled eggs and something else, hello to Jo and Christine

Evening all...my work day was steady and in OK shape for Gloria to be off tomorrow...it's only one day so no biggie really since it's still early in the month. Hopefully Tonya won't pull her usual "do nothing and bury me" but then again....she's Tonya!!! Made a couple stops on the way home that I left for today since I knew it wasn't a pool day, boys with be with Josh and I grabbed myself sushi on the way home for supper tonight and the leftovers I'll enjoy for lunch tomorrow!!
Jason and Bob are putting up spouting on the shed down at the lot so Jason can gather water run-off in the two big barrels with spigots he got from the neighbor across from the lot....will come in handy now that he doesn't have the well at the house any longer. Even though the new buyer told him to use whatever he needs because it only costs pennies for the electric to run the pump but the water is free. The house has city water but when they were connected my DFIL knew to township guy coming to destroy wells and he convinced him to leave his safe...with the pump inside the house no one even knows that that spigot on the house is hooked to the well and not city water. He doesn't want to abuse their generosity so figures the water run off will help when he only needs a little water like when planting or watering in fertilizer....they have a perfect day for it....it was 76° when I got out of work at 4:00 and it still 72 almost 2 hours later!!
Got home put away the couple things I picked up, refilled all my daily pill containers, emptied my lunchbox, changed my clothes, enjoyed a yummy dinner and now I can hang out and catch up here....so back to Monday I go!!
Gabrielle....sounds like a good idea to get a little extra sleep on Monday, especially with the late nights you have early in the week....when your day doesn't end until well after 6:00 several days in a row sometimes you just need to step back and catch those few extra Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's!! I'm thinking the 6 mile walk counts for something!! So glad your DS decided to come up and join you on Sunday for dinner. Hey, now that you are retiring, you will have the extra time to see all the "big movies" on the Oscar list....will say some of the ones in years past I would NEVER want to see....just not my "cup of tea"!!
OMG Gabrielle...Kellen was so funny when I showed him the original picture and said "look what popped up on my memories today".....he immediately said "well I need to recreate that one"! He was so excited!! Hopefully I will have a fun one of Jackson soon so we can do the same thing!! I might just look through a bunch of old pictures from when he was about 2 and find a good one for he to recreate!! Yes they are both keepers!!!
The stainless door beside the fridge is a small freezer. I use it for extra ice, breakfast burritos, chicken/black bean burritos, extra pancakes/waffles from big breakfast and Sarah puts her microwave lunches in there (lean cuisine, etc)....All that stuff used to go to the big chest freezer in the basement and it would get buried and I couldn't get them myself and had to rely on Jason to get them....I told him I wanted to be able to keep some handy that I could get them by myself. In the freezer on the fridge I have a few chicken breasts, a pork roast, a couple pounds of hamburg, ice cream, etc.....that way I have a couple of everything at the ready and the bulk of the stuff is in the freezer downstairs. Since we always buy our meat in bulk most gets put in the big chest freezer but again, I have to have Jason get it for me....when I use the ones I have upstairs I just tell Jason "on your next trip to the basement, can you bring me yada, yada, yada to replace the ones I used today"! It works great and I don't need to rely on him when I need something right away.
Oh Gabrielle...had to laugh! The other day we got a text from Hannah about the weather in Breckenridge, CO....they are there now for spring break and they are to get 8-12 inches of snow with up to 4 feet in the higher elevations....she's a happy camper and the boys are so glad to have real snow this ski trip!! I think her half marathon is in early May....I forget what the date is??
I LOVE the idea of a girls' trip to AZ...as I mentioned, while I do love the beach....there is so many awesome places in the vast country of ours that would be fun to enjoy on a girls' trip!! Granted, some we might need to tweak the dates we usually go but then again as all of us start to retire, we no longer need to worry about the dates, work schedules, etc....Yes, Jason wants to hit AZ for spring training too.....opening day is May 28th this year so Carole will indeed miss spring training this season!!
Carole....glad the neighbor's tree, if it fell, would not have landed on your house! YES, the rains were down right scary here at times over the weekend in into Monday....thankfully they died down as Monday went on and has been pretty calm since then..... Hope you get good news from your tax guy this year....when should you get them back to send in?? Yes you should get a nice day in NYC....hopefully the rains will be through by the time you get there....we are to have a beautiful Saturday after the rains come through here tomorrow!!
I remember Carole when I was a kid, for a couple years we took buses to the Boys/Girls Club in Worcester for swimming lessons.....I don't think any school districts had pools back then. Here swim team is a winter sport....when I was in school in Auburn gymnastics was the winter sport....gymnastics, basketball and hockey in MA, here it PA it's swim team, basketball and wrestling.... LOL, you are so right! Not sure why when I'm typing or doing anything at the computer all of a sudden everyone needs me for something!! Thankfully Jason did get home a bit ago and wanted to get out to get a few things done before the rains come so he didn't bother me for too long...still taking forever to get this post done!

Good job Carole getting on the E instead of heading out for a walk in the wind....it only means to move more...but I didn't specify how you had to move!! Glad you took the challenge and despite the weather still moved!! I know for me and my bones, the strength training is very important....that's why the pool is great for me. Walking is good but the strength training should help my osteoporosis too and that's important in my world and most menopausal women, even if not to the point I am still lose bone mass....strength training is good for all of us!!
Apollo 13 would be fun to see on the "big screen"...like you I have seen it many times but always on a rental or streaming on my TV....never on the big screen. It is a great movie and I must admit it's one of those that although I know they got home safely I still find myself hoping they get home safe!! Kind of like when I watched "Boys in the Boat" about the 1936 Olympic rowing team....LOL!!
Jenny....funny how none of us can stop Monday from coming!! It just happens in spite of how much we pray it doesn't!! Glad Audrey arrived home safe and sound. Nice they had a short flight and arrived home fairly early. Was there a time change for them?? Not sure what time zone Utah is in??? I only know the place I call or travel to....like TX, NE and of course the entire east coast for most of my family!
They showed the Jon Cena segment on the TODAY show on Monday morning...will say it cracked me up!! Will also say, he's pretty easy on the eyes in the buff! LOL!!
Gabrielle....I will confess to being a terrible tracker at this point on my journey...I was so diligent when I first joined WW in 2007 and was diligent for many years....then as changes happened, WW plans changed and things in life got busy and crazy I drifted from actual tracking but I do have so many containers are that are specific amounts....1/2 cup, 1 cup, etc...many things I eat with regularity or add to things all have measuring cups or spoons in them so I know exactly what I am using and still while tracking in my head and an old point version of WW....I am at least mindful of my portions and choices. One thing I still always so is ask for a "to go box" as soon as they bring my dinner when I eat out and divide my meal in half before I even start to eat. I still have some good habits that started as chores but now, it's just part of my routine. Jason always laughs at me when I get out my WW ladles even if he got another one out for the serving...I always use my WW ladles/scoops so I know exactly what I'm eating. A silly example....I have a bag of dark chocolate peanut M&Ms in my desk drawer.....each day I open the bag and take out 7....a serving is 13 pieces so I take out 7, eat one and then leave the other 6 in a little container I have on my desk that I enjoy throughout the rest of the day....I never take more or get the bag out of my desk drawer again...it was a habit that started 15 years ago when I really wanted Peanut M&Ms and I was still tracking...now, it's just habit!!!
Gabrielle...glad your Monday, while still after 7:00 was a good day. Sounds like it might have been pretty low key so it was easy to wind down and get to bed at a decent hour. Honestly, not sure I would ever get excited and just "do it" to get to the track to run in 43° and rain....nope!!! I'm a fair weather girl!! Guess that's why I love an indoor, temperature controlled pool!
I will say, some movies are a MUST to see in the theater...others are fun to see on the big screen but some movies I enjoy just as much at home where I can pause them if I need a snack, drink or need to pee! LOL! Our Tuesday tickets used to be $5....now they are up to $7 which is still a bargain...I think senior tickets are $8 these days here in Hanover. Dad and Pat would go to the movies and then late lunch almost every Tuesday once they both retired....they loved it!!
Gabrielle...I think I mentioned... I paint the chicken on March 23rd but then again my DC Carol asked me this week when I painted again and I sent her the picture of the chicken and told her when I painted but can't remember for sure!! At any rate.....next Saturday is the big day and I'm excited. Paula and Layne painted it last night because they couldn't make the 23rd date....they were able to do Lacey's 2nd date instead....I haven't seen theirs yet...I know Paula's will be awesome...we all have to remind ourselves she DID go to art school! LOL!!
LOL Carole....yes, it's funny how even after a "Monday"....Tuesday seems OK....one step closer to the weekend and it's NOT a Monday! I'm sure Jenny is very glad to be back to "normal hours"!! I would be!! Yes, it was crazy how we too went from CRAZY, SCARY winds to breezes in a matter of 12 hours.....thankfully we didn't lose power, no real tree issues, just a few odd things in the yard from somewhere in the neighborhood!!
Carole...I'm thinking that on movie day you didn't reach your macros and ate more popcorn than you should have it's OK....if you get a chance to read the post I put up earlier about he guy on the TODAY show....he had goals for himself and they were NOT strict and stringent...NOTHING was 7 days a week, nothing was a HUGE amount of time or volume....it was all reasonable things he could live with a make routine....none of us are perfect....none of us can do everything right every minute of every day....we need to be good and focused MOST of the time and not beat ourselves up for days are just are "not so great"....
OK....sorry, Eden is 10 years old and shielding Eden's eyes in Apollo 13 is a bit much....you truly can't shelter your kids from everything and expect them to survive in reality as an adult....Jaclyn sounds more and more like Annie and I look at Rachel and Michael and think "how will they survive alone...?"! But as you said "not our circus". Will admit, not super excited about spending 4 days in that "world" and I really struggle with the immaturity of Rachel especially....she's going to be 22 years old and honestly Kellen is more mature!! It's sad!
Carole...I was wondering if any of the supplements you might have incorporated into your routine would make you groggy in the morning with an 89?? I know for me if I take Melatonin even if I have a good score for sleep, I can some days still feel groggy for a while in the morning??? Just a thought!!
OK.... house just got crazy....Sarah and the boys are home!!
Sweet dreams all...waves Christine, Jo, Karen and anyone else I might have missed!! See you all tomorrow!! It's almost Friday!!
