If you have wondered what this challenge is all about it has to do with making a change and focusing on that change for 100 days. It can be related to anything YOU want to work on: weight loss, exercise, housekeeping, reading, practicing, organizing...the sky is the limit. After you decide what you want to work on you show up daily and post how you did with a "face" that indicates how the previous day went. YOU CAN START ANY DAY OF THIS CHALLENGE! We would love to have you with us! Dates for this challenge: February 15 - May 25, 2024❤️ Further information about the challenge: Focused Intention Begins with a question/hypothesis Commitment to a goal Etc If you are interested here are a couple of websites to check out: www.gongfuacademy.com/100-day-gong.htmlcathygeha/Cathy luvvinlife/Gisélle klf722/Karen doordie50/Pam

March 15 My goals for this 100 days are: 📝 Track every BLT ✔️ 🚶♀️ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week✔️ 🧹 Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ✔️ 🖋️ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative ✔️ 🇫🇷 Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French ✔️ ⚖️ Weigh every morning ✔️ <165>
I was down on the scale yesterday and up today due to not being OP yesterday. Ah well, at least I walked some in Batroun and still have a few weekly points left to use between now and Monday if I want to do so.
Yesterday I picked up Rosalie and we went to spend time with Maureen. We played cards for awhile, had some manoosh and other things, then after lunch Maureen started falling asleep so we headed out an hour earlier than we planned to and as we were not ready to go home went for a drive and had coffee together. I had a quiet evening at home and we might go grocery shopping today or might wait till tomorrow. If we stay home, I have to make soup or something else for lunch but if we go out we might pick something up to eat. Will see in a few minutes what the plan is.
Gisélle: I did move to Lebanon in 1978 after we got married in Los Angeles. It was not easy. Had to walk a couple blocks to shower at a brother-in-law's apartment and do laundry there. I taught the first year in the school of nursing and then stayed up after having children. There were curfews and blackouts and militias in the streets...we were evacuated in 1984 and returned in 1994. It has been an...interesting...life. I like your new goals and how you are tackling them. Abel sounds like a great life partner.
Karen: my French dictionary is HUGE and difficult to use. I kind of wish I had a small pocket dictionary instead! I am waiting to do one of those three lesson sessions with the barbells and HATE them as they are harder than the usual lessons...at least I think they are! Sorry you had a headache that sent you back to bed! Hope you feel better now.
Pam: Waving and wishing you well!

Much better days! After the headache day I've felt good! Had a busy day today and this weekend looks busy too. All good! Not making my steps goal Sleeping ok but need more hours of it and better sleep hygiene Got outside Only a little decluttering My hearing aids need to be checked. I suspect they are having small issues and need to find out. Doing a lot if reading. Cathy, to say your life in Lebanon has been interesting sounds like an understatement. You're so brave and capable! Your afternoon plans sound like fun. I found my Italian dictionary. I'm using the books to help me with the verb conjugations. I'm glad to have them! Just have to do my evening Duo and hope to get to bed at a decent hour. Waving to all and Hi to Pam & Gisélle too!

I am getting SO FRUSTRATED with the internet. Phone line is seldom working and filled with static if working at all. Internet is unpredictable and flickers more than it is constant. Talking to family is iffy at best. I am glad we don't have cable TV or I am sure that would also be an issue. We bought auto insurance today and the insurance salesman said that he doesn't have a drivers license and when www.loveandlemons.com/sweet-potato-salad-recipe/ mine expires in 2025 I won't either. It is...an interesting place to live! We bought the items needed for the potluck and I roasted the sweet potatoes and pumpkin seeds, made the salad dressing, packed things up, wait for the arugula to "dry" as it drains so I can pack it up, too. I will assemble it there. The recipe I am making is www.loveandlemons.com/sweet-potato-salad-recipe/ and the dressing seems lacking in something but perhaps others will figure out that it is fine or the ingredients will come together when in the dish together. I am tired for no good reason and am eager for the change tomorrow will bring. Hope all are doing well!
PS - Tried to check in the last few days but never was able to when there was consistent internet. I have to leave early tomorrow so won't be able to check in till tomorrow evening or Wednesdays <sigh>

Hi Girls - Happy Spring! It seems like an age since I've been here. I've missed you all. And, all that you inspire. I'm so grateful for our little group. I'm STILL struggling to manage my time well during this challenge. My mornings could really use a shake-up or a good swift kick in the pants! lol On the positive side, I've been eating well, tracking, and getting in some activity. My sleep could use some improvement tho. I was so wowed by those few warmish days that I started the winter cleanup outside. Not at all a great idea with my back but, I managed to prune the knockout roses and a few others that require a late winter/early spring cutback. I can't wait until we can be outside and enjoying the patio. The identity theft thing continues to be a real concern and such a hassle. A recent attempt was made by someone posing as me, applying for a credit account with one of the big banks. Fortunately, my Norton/Lifelock alerted me and asked if I had applied for credit at so-and-so bank. I had them lock down all access to my credit rating/reports. I also contacted the bank in question and thankfully, they then denied the application so, no credit card was issued to the thief using my name. So scary! Especially after all the fraudulent charges made to my card just last year. I've been cautioned they'll keep trying. Swell! Anyway, we've been getting ready for our trip to Niagara Falls for the solar eclipse. I hope the skies will be good for viewing that day. Right now it doesn't look so good. We haven't been to the Falls before so, if the conditions are poor for the eclipse, we'll still see something truly awe inspiring. We'll also make a few stops to and fro so, we're getting excited. Pat's sister, Mare, is coming to stay here to take care of Fitz and Freddy. She said it will be like a vacation for her. lol They couldn't be in better hands! Cathy so sorry you've been having such a frustrating stretch with the internet and phone. You are made of strong stuff, my friend. Your life there in Lebanon has been beyond interesting. Have you ever thought of writing a book about it? I know it would be chock full of incredible stories and reflections after so many years. Will you be able to renew your license in 2025, if you want to? The salad pic looks delicious! I hope you really enjoy the potluck and the change that tomorrow will bring. Karen I'm so glad your headache day is history and you're feeling good. The chill is sure back in the air now! I thought about you and Gisélle when we were having those few warmer days and was sure you both got out in it. You're doing so well with your Duo and reading. You sound great AND busy! Wishing you and DH good things! Gisélle it's really good to hear the StepBet is still going well, and the Sowing Seeds goals sound really doable. The idea that we can do anything for 10 minutes is so positive. I must start thinking in those terms too. It was so sweet of Abel to help you get ready to host your book club. That guy is a real keeper! You'll pick up the German quickly I'm sure. Sending positive vibes!

Hi everyone! Also in and out mainly related to time and plans for the day. If I have to get out early in the morning I don't log in, and then sometimes I forget to. I leave for MA tomorrow til Saturday. The boys are back from Scotland but still off from school until the 25th. They loved Scotland!! I had hearing aid and dental issues the last days so that took time away from other things. One issue resolved, the other just starting. Our day out Saturday to Arthur Ave. in the Bronx was great! We loved the restaurant and made our stops to the shops we like and then headed back home. We got a great parking spot too. My Water Pik Aqua Flosser died today, but not before soaking me good, twice, from a tear in its tubing. Go figure! Did not make my steps Slept well last night Got outdoors Decluttered? Not really. Other things interfered. Now I will pack and be leaving, so not until I get back, at least. Pam, so good to see you! I'm glad you got outside and though you said you overdid it a bit it sounds like you scaled it back before any real damage. I think that once Spring really arrives you will manage your morning routine better, or at least create a good working one. we need to leave tins cold windy weather behind us and move into the sun! I'm so sorry to hear about your identity theft but I'm really glad you're on it! You're doing all you can and still they try! It must be exhausting to keep fighting just to be who you really are without being robbed of your $ and good name! You should write a book about this experience. You must be so excited about your trip! It sounds so perfect! Cathy, your internet sounds worse than ever! And really? No license? How does one get insurance to drive a car without a driver's license? Will you have the opportunity to renew? And if not, is it really not a big deal? Your dish for the potluck sounds yummy. Maybe salt? Every time I say something is missing usually salt is the cure. Waving to Gisélle too!!

activity/steps tracked GHGs and still pushing the protein Hi all! Had a pretty good day yesterday. We took my SIL and DB out for her belated Bday dinner last night. She's been testing and rolling out a new operating system at work for weeks, and finally came up for air. The food was good but, they were really understaffed. We still had a great time. Screaming toddler? No need to let that ruin the night. We simply carried on at a higher decibel. lol I have a coat I want to take on our trip that needs some alterations so, I'll drop that at the tailor's while I'm out running errands. Hope everyone has a great day! klf722 , thanks - Great to see you too! So glad the family's back safe and really enjoyed their time in Scotland. Sounds like your day out in the Bronx was a lot of fun. And, better still with great parking. Sorry about your Water Pic. The good soaking was just rude. LOL! I hope you have a wonderful time in MA. I'm sure the boys have lots of highlights of their trip to share. Safe travels!
Waves to Gisélle and Cathy

Happy Spring! Well, kind of…between the 70 degree sunny temps and the 33 degree snow squalls 🙄
I’ve been doing well keeping up with my StepBet challenge and my WW decluttering challenge. Abel is quite impressed with my stick-to-it-tiveness. That’s not my strong suit. So these days I’ve been getting started first thing in the morning with my check off list. Reading time sways from 10 minutes to 90 minutes. I”ve succeeded at reaching my step goals for each day of the challenge so far. We are in week 3 with 3 more weeks to go. I’m planning to purchase an “under desk” treadmill. It can be concealed under a couch or bed easily when not in use. I’ve got 4 cabinets decluttered with my eye on my sock drawer next. My daughter and SIL and the family had dinner with us on Sunday. The visit was unplanned but lots of fun. Abel and I put together a light meal of pan seared salmon for myself and my daughter with spareribs for my SIL and her stepson, roasted potato wedges, skillet grilled asparagus and some homemade baking powder biscuits. We had a Periodontal visit for Abel Tuesday and a Cardiolody check up for me yesterday. She’s thrilled with my health and habits although she’s still not ready to take me off the Eliquis. Ive added Vitamin E supplements to my regimen.
Cathy, your life sounds so intriguing. I agree with Karen. I really hope that one day you’re inclined to write a book about it. There’s a certain tenacity that it takes to handle all of the challenges, enjoy the benefits and stay positive through it all. I’m curious to see your response regarding the driver’s license situation. You continue to thrive through it all, but I can feel your frustration with your internet service. It makes me realize that I shouldn’t complain about ours which is wonky on any given day. It’s part of the reason that I am reluctant to post more than a sentence or two. If a wind comes, or it rains, or the sun shines too brightly, the whole thing goes POOF! We got an upgrade from our cable provider to completely wireless cable but it doesn’t seem to have helped. Your salad looks so inviting. I saved it to my list of recipes to try. Thank you. I hope you had fun your pot luck. Be sure to tell us what all was on the menu so I can join you vicariously. Karen you’ve been up to lots of stuff getting done! A little bit of you, a little bit of them, and a little bit of we. I ‘m glad to hear that the family is back home safe and that they had a blast. Arthur Ave. was one of our favorite haunts when we lived and worked in the Bronx. My first WW meeting as a Coach was above a restaurant on Arthur Ave. That didn’t help much because the meeting was after work so we’d stop in afterwards and get some goodies to take home. 😁 We have a little shop in town, that’s owned and run by two brothers who are from that area. They sell all sorts of Italian dishes, fresh meats , cheeses and baked goods. My girlfriend deliriously happy when she found out that they take orders for sfinge pastries for Palm Sunday dinner with her family. We have a Pizza Shop in town also, and you guessed it! They hail from there as well. “John’s of Arthur Ave.” They have the absolute best vegetable pizza I’ve ever tasted. Pam I’ve been thinking about you and your gardening, hoping that it wasn’t wreaking havoc on your back. Each time the weather/news casters speak about the eclipse you and Pat come to mind. I know you’re so excited to be taking this trip. I’m counting down with you. I’m certain that it will be amazing, no matter what. It’s great that you were able to celebrate with your SIL for her birthday, above the din of the screaming toddler and still have a great time. Situations like that make me think that maybe I shouldn’t rush to get my hearing aids.😆 BTW, the Lipo Flavinoids aren’t helping so I won’t be buying them anymore.
Enjoy the day everyone!
