I feel like I FINALLY got here and now I'm out of time! UGH
Busy weekend ahead -
Carly, Ben and Mason will be home for St Patrick's Day Parade and bar hopping downtown with Lindsey and neighborhood 'kids' lol
DN Jessica (Mark's daughter) asked to come back up to help clean out his things. It is very overwhelming and hard but I am open to her help! She arrives in town today but is staying with her brother (different Dad's). Since Sam is a rather odd guy, I reminded her she is welcome to stay here and I fully expect that will happen! Virginia is 'bewildered' she claims as to WHY Jess would want to return here. She is highly suspicious - hmm, paranoid? I don't know. I struggle to follow the Logic of Virginia. Anyways, DB Mark's birthday is March 20 which is why I suggested to Jess we get together this weekend - my fault for forgetting it's St Patrick's Day shenanigans for the Girls who will not be around much -it's fine. I will take Virginia and Jess to the cemetery to spread a few ashes then we will have a nice lunch. Jess mentioned meeting up with the Girls downtown later. I think it will be a nice day - if I can just get Virginia to relax and enjoy the company!
Work is moving along smoothly - working hard and steady and keeping my head above it all. Contract work is moving slowly...I wish I could finish more contract reports quicker than the pace I've set but there are so many distractions. Evenings I am just too tired to focus so I find myself relaxing watching HGTV lol But mornings I am doing the TM 4-5 days a week. Easing into it there...
I feel far behind here in your Posts but will keep trying to read up on everyone's days!

Good morning!
It is 57 degrees!! 20 degrees warmer than earlier this week---yay! We have taken on the winds that all of you have been talking about---wow---thank goodness that SO much trimming has been done everywhere around here to stay on top of fire danger and downed powerlines. The result is not too much extra to blow down in the wind. Driving to Sacramento again today for a work meeting. It ends around 1:00 so I will return to the office. My assistant is doing great and I really like her. She is pretty young and just a nice, upbeat kind of person who doesn't get frazzled. Yesterday I had forgotten that I was asked to sit on a panel for the meeting as part of one of the presentations. We have been focusing on inclusion in our schools in our county...inclusion of ALL special education students in the regular program. It was so amazing....one of our superintendents was there sharing about their little TK student (Gigi) who has downs syndrome and is challenged to communicate vocally---the kids who are in class with her are SO fortunate and the families at the school have really embraced her and her family--I was so proud. Now to do more of this! Anyway, it was a good way to end the day. No gym this morning....the hour lost finally caught up with me when I got home last night at 6:30 pm. Wow, I was tired! It will be better after this weekend.
Christine: How wonderful that you are welcoming Jessica to go through her dad's things. I can't think of a more appropriate person to really have that opportunity (sorry Virginia). And the opportunity for closure is so important too. I love that she will join the girls for a bit as well. I can tell that your days are full! With DLS, you probably are even more tired. I do love though that you are making the TM time a priority....in the long run it will give you more energy --mentally and physically. Oh yes, St. Patricks Day! DS29 and Kate are running a half marathon (they have been training for it with a local running group since Christmas) so I am hoping to go down and cheer them across the finish line on Sunday (it is called the "Sham Rockin Half Marathon". I need to buy corned beef to cook on Sunday as well. We will see if I will host dinner again....usually I do but, since we will be out of town next weekend for the wedding, I need to get my head together about it all. So you will have a full house again---it probably feels good though in some ways, right? I hope that Jessica stays where she feels comfortable! Glad that work is going okay...
Carole: Did you use your new CPAP for the first time last night? If so, how did it go? That is good news that you got it sooner than you thought! When do you leave for NYC? Looking forward to hearing more about it and the pictures. Good job using the elliptical! I am still tracking...hanging in there! All I am doing is tracking right now. Next step will be to look at it more closely and think about adjustments to my eating. Hope that you have a good day!
Sue: I am hoping that today goes well with you and Tonya there alone to do the work. It sounds like you are ready for it though. What a clever idea that Jason has to capture the water. In Hawaii that is a regular thing--they have so much rain and it makes so much sense. I love that Kellen and Jackson are getting their cooking experience. Jackson will be caught up in no time, I am sure. Thanks for sharing that Today Show link -- I will look into it this weekend. It is always good to see the success of others. There is always something to learn. One of the podcasts I listen to while at the gym is Zoe Nutrition where they interview different guests (experts, authors, etc.). The one that I listened to on Wednesday was how to really establish habits and it was good! I will probably listen to it again and maybe jot a few things down. It is funny you mentioning those WW ladles. I have had them (measuring 1/2 and 1 cup) for so many years and still use them all of the time. Love having that quick measuring system. I hope that you have a good day today!
Jenny: Wow, Barbie sounds like an interesting person....but the owner of the company has a bunch of complaints filed? If they are "petty" and meaningless (since anyone can file a complaint) that is one thing, but if there is something to them that is another. I would do ANYTHING to avoid being in charge of HR---people are SO hard to deal with. Uggh. So glad that Audrey had a good time and that you have nice weather ahead. We know how much you enjoy getting your yard ready for summer. I hope that today is a good day for you.
Hello to Jo, Karen, Shelly, and all who follow. I need to get a move on for the drive to Sacramento. Have a good day!

Quick HI from work....Manning exploded today so it will be busy! Not sure why but no biggie....it's a bit dreary outside but was 60 when I come to work. I had planned to head to the pool after work but plans might change....I slept funny and had a tweak on my left rib cage....didn't give it much thought but then about a 1/2 hour ago, something "flew in" and now I can't even take a deep breath. I can't lift my arms or turn my head w/o it grabbing. Will see how it goes as the day goes by but for right now I could not do any sort of work out at all.....might just go and walk or maybe just the whirlpool to see if I can relax it??
Have a great Friday....will catch up after work!!

Jenny: WOO HOO for warming up to the 70s!! I just can't WAIT for warm weather!! Good luck getting your leaves picked up this weekend. That's APs right there!!
Interesting - what did this big boss Fred DO to "Barbie"?? Geeze I would think if this is 3 or 4 reports on him, he must be a real winner. Holy WOW GF Nice tax refunds!! $10k?? Geeze Louise!! Yes get that Visa bill paid - you'll be ready to roll in September! LOL Sending {{{hugs}}} to your DS for the loss of her dog.
UGH Well Night 1 didn't go so well. It kept waking me up, as the mask was leaking. Sounded like a tornado going through my room! I ended up with a mask that sits under my nose, but also covers my mouth. I HATE IT. I know, I have to give it time... but it's just a PITA! While in AZ we are doing a Verde Canyon Railroad tour. Not sure we'll make Sedona. I'll have to check it out. I know we are not going to Grand Canyon this trip. Too far to drive. We'll have to figure that out for another time.
So hey - I am wondering about this walking mat vs a treadmill... please share your thoughts. Also the link (again) if you can, to the mat that you got.
Sue: Hope the day is going well with Gloria off. Yay for Jason using water run off for watering the lot. I've thought of that too, but we have such small garden areas it probably wouldn't be worth much. LOL
I have no idea when to expect our taxes back. At least this year we aren't waiting for Dumb David! Last year HE kept us waiting all year (practically)! At least by 2023 Ken was OUT of the partnership, so the store has NO BEARING on us at all!! Yes, NYC weather is still 60s and sunny, with only 2%chance of rain. It should be nice weather to be walking around. The time we went to meet Jenny it was summer and hotter than Heck walking around. Yeah, Joe seems to be concentrating on strength training more than cardio these days... but walking is still my go to I guess. I'm doing the ST exercises once in a while - need to make it a priority!
Hey, I still have 2 sets of WW ladles! I have the white plastic and the stainless. I also have the gravy ladle, that I use at every family dinner! Nope, no way I could eat only 7 M&Ms throughout a day! LOL Can you please share WHAT you do for exercises in the pool? With our pool opening in a couple of months, I'm wondering if I could get into a habit with that? As usual, I am just not sure where to start. If I google it, I get so many options it just turns me off trying to figure out what I should do.
Thanks - yes I did read the article... but have to remind myself he's a MAN! LOL OMG Totally... my sister and I often say we are scared for her (Eden)! Oh we were at the relay meeting, and Eden was writing... OMG at 10 years old her penmanship is awful! Zoë writes better at 7YO than Eden does.
Hmmm, I don't think what I take at bedtime would make me groggy next day... but interesting... I should try to google them all and see if that IS a side effect.

Good Morning Christine - thanks for starting us today! WOO HOO FINALLY Friday!! It IS a good day! DH will be at work all afternoon, and I have no appointments! My plan is to get some food prepped for the next several days. I know I will be in NYC tomorrow, but I will need breakfast before going! I "might" also take some veggies and HB egg to eat on the bus, sort of an "early" lunch? Hoping that when we get off the bus, I won't be ready for a bagel and pizza??? LOL
Oh My, sounds like a crazy houseful for you this weekend. We'll be in NYC, but we will AVOID the parade route! LOL
Glad you are so welcoming for Jessica to come and help go through Mark's stuff. So wait - you never told us how her staying with Virginia went! I am guessing not too well, if she isn't staying there this trip? So I assume ALL of DB's "stuff" is AT Virginia's house? That should be interesting. Just glad you can help Jess through it all. Nice to hear Jess is thinking of joining the girls for some fun too!
No worries about not catching up here... you DO have a LOT going on. Do you have any vacation time planned this spring? Just for a bit of a break? {{{{hugs}}}}
Gabrielle: Thank you for taking on the winds for us! They are NOT pleasant! Oh how I wish you could leave Sacramento and just head home. YAY for a good assistant. Good for you taking today off from the gym. No worries - you WILL be back at it after you have a chance to catch your breath! WOW you do have some busy weekends. I didn't get a corned beef, but we sometimes get one free, next week. LOL When the store won't be able to sell them any longer. So I'll probably throw it in the freezer and do it in May! LOL
UGH As you already read, the CPAP is not the saving grace I was hoping for! LOL I know, it takes time... I am supposed to "practice" with it for a little bit each day this week. So after my prepping today, I will get it back together and practice while I veg out with some TV this afternoon. Me-being-me, just expected it to WORK for me the first time! HA! Hopefully today/tonight will be better? OH I may not use it tonight, we'll see. I need to go to bed early and get up early to be in Deerfield for the bus at 7:20. Have to leave here around 6:15ish My tracking is still going well. Yesterday will not reach some macros, because we ate out... and then didn't eat dinner. But Life.Goes.On.!
Sue: Hope the day goes smoothly for you, same dreary day here, warmer, but zero sunshine! Ouch... sounds painful, we know you will work through it though - hopefully by the time you get home that kink has worked itself out.
OK Time to get myself motivated for the day. Feels like a nice day to just curl up and watch TV, but I MUST get some cooking done! I also need to get my pocketbook switched over (for NYC) and pack my bag for the bus. I like to take slippers and a blanket for the bus ride home, after a long day of walking. If it were warmer I'd do flip flops but my slippers will be fine and warm. LOL
Might pop back later, just remembered Ken won't be home until LATE tonight, well after 8 PM! LOL (Late for me.) There is a Pickle Ball Group that meets/plays at the school every Friday night from 6-8, so he goes to that. He asks every week if it's "OK" with me... , Like WHY would I care?? It gives him something to DO, it's good for him (EXERCISE) and we don't usually have Friday evening plans anyway!
Hope your Friday goes well, for all you working folk... ♥hugs♥
