Good morning. 45 to start, going to be a windy weekend. High of 52, with just 30's the next 2 days.
Robin, yes, that's right with the court cases, it's public anyway. Yes, as we age, eyes get older too, so one more thing to worry about, but very relieved about how mine turned out. I am very happy that Bob did not invite me to go with him tonight, I would have felt so uncomfortable, as we are just not that close yet, to be meeting families. I think that may have been one of the things that got Joe's DD hating me right off the bat, maybe she thought I was horning in on her and her father. You know family dynamics is so touchy, at times. Funny thing though about Bob going to the birthday party, he is mostly Irish, so at the party, will be the traditional corned beef and cabbage; he hates it! He will eat before he goes there. Nice too though, as that is how I am. My DH loved that meal. I could not even stand the smell of it. Sorry you won't get to see Leo this weekend. I don't understand when people (Rodgers) say Covid was a conspiracy. How do you explain a million deaths, especially in that short of time frame??? The apartment complex goes according to my total yearly gross income, so working all year, or just so many months, does not matter.
Marsha, the boys grow their hair out, on the top, back and sides, just long enough to be able to get the perm. The front does not get the cut. I will try to find the pic DD sent me and post it on our FB page. I too did a perm or 2 back in those days, before I had to start dying my hair. We all wanted to look like Baby, from Dirty Dancing. Good idea about the storage container.
Gareth, you got more out of that rain threat than we did, it never made it up by us, as the air was so dry, it just couldn't. It was very light anyway, like yours, so it really wouldn't have helped. I think I will get a message that my Dr's office sent in a script. Or maybe they will wait till I call looking for it. I will try to send that picture of my DGS to our page on FB. Today he goes to get fitted for his tux, for prom. I just keep getting shocked by him, as I kind of don't want to accept he is almost all grown up!!! For some reason I can accept that DGD who is also in 11th grade is rapidly growing up and away, but I am having a hard time with him. I make frozen pizza's the same way as you, with a sheet of foil on the other rack, that is the one below the rack that the pizza is on, and that pizza turns out perfect. I will not make a frozen pizza any other way.
Carol, we are jealous you got a nice amount of rain, especially with not getting any tornadoes, or damaging winds. We are once again in a drought, as we were last year. Wow, that stinks about the dilating and not letting you know beforehand about it; it was in my paperwork that was mailed to me, and I do know it did not say at all that I could not drive home or have someone drive you. There was just one time during driving afterwards that I wished I was not driving, but otherwise, with taking it very carefully, I did relax just a bit. I felt like I was in a bunch of clouds, very weird. Did you have the surgery yet, or still have to have it? I see where the NY Jets are very unhappy with Rodgers and his latest goofy idea to be Kennedy's running mate. And of course he will backtrack about the conspiracy theory, even though 2 reporters said he said that.
Anngie, I surely hope they have everything needed; I think they know my whole life, inside and out, by now. Yes, Bob seems to be a good guy, he sure can crack the jokes; he knows how to make me laugh, which is so good sometimes, especially if I have a crappy day at work, like I did yesterday. So far, I am staying silent on that container thing, I keep waiting to see if he gets antsy, to get together to see if we can progress with our relationship, but he seems comfortable with how things are, and maybe forgot about the container. I would love if he asked to take me out to eat, I have not been to a nice restaurant in a long while. About frozen pizzas and you not buying any, totally understandable, but as my living conditions favor those, I have found one pizza that I am in love with, and the funny thing is, our local connivence store is the only place I can find it, they make them themselves. Omg, on the Etsy problem! I hope your DH gets it before April 2nd!!!
Hi Pinky, not surprised to see you missing here yesterday, with all that is going on at your house!! Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the grands!!

Karen, that was exactly what I was trying to explain about the paystubs. I know it is for the year. I know all this from being a loan officer, and teachers were one of the bigger problems. For some reason some school districts spread the pay out for 52 weeks, which some do it for 10 months, or even less. For argument sake, let's say your pay is $100 a week. If you earned that every week for a year, it would be $5200 added. But, if you only got paid for 36 weeks during the year, it would be $3600 added. So, the 6 paystubs, even the year to date income, really doesn't mean what your total income for the year is. You probably worked more from January 1st until now than you would any other 2 1/2 month period. I saw the pic of DGS, and it looks cute. I think much better than the Patrick Mahomes hairstyle. Maybe you feel that way about DGS over DGD because he has the girlfriend, and is learning to drive, so really going into adulthood more than DGD is. It also seemed that you had a more special relationship with him for some reason, maybe being the only boy.
Anngie, oh, with that Etsy problem, I did not comment yesterday. That is really too bad, and so annoying. I ordered slacks for DH a few weeks ago from Macy's. I kept tracking it, and for about 10 days I could see that they created the ticket, but it was never picked up by UPS. I called customer service and they told me they would come in 10 days. Wouldn't you know that they managed to get it right out as soon as I called.
Now of course you are probably all wondering why I would be ordering slacks for DH. A number of years ago he bought "semi-custom" slacks for work from Men's Wearhouse. He doesn't wear a suit unless he is going to court or speaking. Because his father was in the clothing manufacturing business, and a close cousin, who was more like an uncle, manufactured mens suits, he thinks he knows everything about fabric, and he picked out very thin wool fabric. It ended up that most of the slacks were ruined by keeping his wallet in his back pocket. Searching online, I found him 2 different pairs I could order, that were his size waist and length, and just ordered them. This 2nd pair from Macy's I thought he would complain had too much polyester in it, but he did not, and he is wearing both of them, and even remarked that the ones I found on Amazon fit a lot better than the semi-custom. It's hard to find the right size for him in the stores because he has shorter legs, and a larger waist than the average sizes that they carry, so to come up with ones that are mostly wool, and the right size, in any department store, is nearly impossible, and getting him to actually go into the stores is another story. Of course I could get the right waist size in a longer length and get them shortened, but that means he would actually have to go to the tailor to have them measured.
Not much on tap for today. I am happy that the gray clouds cleared and it is now sunny. Our plan for tonight is now to watch Oppenheimer. DS1 told us last night that they watched it last weekend and loved it. I am surprised, because they are not ones that are so into history. I would believe that more of DS2.

Karen, when you said your DGS got a perm I pictured afro. This does definitely look better. Is oldest DGD going to the prom too? I know they go to different schools so I'm sure hers might be at a different time. The only time I was advised to have a driver with having my eyes dilated was when I had the eye injection. Of course that was the only eye dilated. I really do hate driving though with dilated eyes even wearing sunglasses when it's sunny and bright out. That's when I always hope for a cloudy day.
Robin, I worried when second DGC was expected that I'd be partial to my oldest DGS being he was the first. Thinking about it now I really don't feel partial to one over another.
With the discussion of pizza we really like the frozen Red Baron classic crust the best with DiGiorno coming in second. I've never felt the need to need to add extra toppings or cheese to either.
Only 50Âş today and windy all weekend. Just barely reaching 40Âş tomorrow.
We're having my belated BD dinner today. DS is smoking ribs. I'm not sure what sides he's making. I'm not sure either why he's carting everything over here. I'd think it'd have been much simpler just having us there. I'm not complaining though. It's just nice wherever it is spending time together which we never seem able to do that much of with everyone's schedules and lately DGD's health. I wondered about even today with DS just getting a tooth pulled yesterday.

Hi Friends!!! It is a bit of a whirlwind here but all seems good with us all. It has been nice outside so that has helped with things to do but my house is kinds of a mess. Oh well this too shall pass and it will get cleaned up. I don't want to be known as the grandma that won't let us do anything because it is too messy.
It is colder today and very windy. DH and DS#1 took 14 year old DGS and the 4 year old and went to a gun show in Watertown. The 11 year old DGS went with DS#2 and his son who is 9 to a 4-H Shooting Sports competition which the 9 year old is participating in today. The 9 Year old DGS is quite a markmanship and has qualified for state competition in April. This is a 4-H sponsored activity. So I have some quiet time and I was ready for it. Doing some laundry and picking up and then to vacuum and wash the floors.
Karen---I seen your DGS's perm and after you said it wasn't a Mahomes kind I figured it would be like this. Mullets are really back in here too----remember when this was the style some years ago, like Billy Ray Cyrus!!!! Glad you have got all your paperwork sent in for the apartment and hope you do not have to wait to long for a reply as to whether you qualify.
Robin----Sorry you won't be seeing Leo today but enjoy your weekend in other ways.
Gareth----How nice your DS is making dinner and bringing it over today. Probably not that hard to transport with foil pans being so popular now. Enjoy the day with family!!!
Hi to all! I need to go enjoy the quiet for a few hours!!! It actually will be a fairly quiet day as DGS are going over to see their other Grandparent about 4:30 and eat supper with them.

When I heard boys were getting perms, I was thinking curls. The picture of my cousin and his son I mentioned that is what he had. They went from having straight hair to Little Orphan Annie curls. I remember a man at church doing the same thing. It was strange.
Anngie, sorry about the Etsy problem, too. I ordered personalized bookmarks for my sisters and the others who were on the trip back in February. I got them from an Etsy shop in California, too. It took them several days to get out of California so I got worried, but they ended up getting here on time.
We usually get Digiorno frozen pizza. I like thick crust.
Karen, I had my cataract surgery a couple of years ago. It was the first time I had my eyes dilated in years. I remember it well because I felt I was so unprepared for the appointment.
No estate sales today so we are just staying in and doing things around the house and then church tomorrow.

Not much going on here this weekend. We were given a gift card for an area restaurant for Christmas so we might go there for dinner. The gift card was given to DH as a thank you. Sad story. DH’s old boss in fact had a hand in hiring him decades ago, is now suffering from Alzheimer’s. So once a month a group of about 10-15 retirees get together for lunch. This boss enjoys this “outing” but can no longer drive. It’s so sad as he’s only about 71. So a couple of years ago DH offered to bring him each time. So far so good but it’s plain to see he probably won’t be going this time next year, or sooner. Needless to say, his wife really appreciates the couple of hours or so of time to herself. DH is happy to do it but it’s hard to watch.
Gareth, enjoy your BD meal!
Robin, I wish Oppenheimer was on Netflix or Max as that is what we now have. We had the chance to see it in the theater but missed out.
Pinky, my mom would always say “this too, shall pass” and I find myself using that phrase as well. Funny what we remember.

Good morning. 31, with flurries, going to stay cloudy, with a high of 35
Robin, thanks, about DGS, and I agree, it is better than Mahomes hair do. I might not have been so shocked at seeing the picture, if DD had warned me that he was going to get it done. Sorry you had to call about your DH pants being shipped. I would not have wondered why you would be ordering pants for your DH, as I would just figure he is hard to fit, and or wants certain pants that are easier to order, than haul him to some store, maybe miles away to get. We all know men hate shopping.
Gareth, yes, I guess DGS's perm looks better than an afro. I just can't picture him sitting through the process of getting a perm. Yes, DGD1 is going to her prom also, I have her dress hanging in one of my closets, as they asked if they could do that, what with tulle on some of the dress; they have 3 cats and expect 1 of them to try to get at the tulle. I think her prom is April 6th, I have no idea when DGS's is. Maybe the same night. How was your birthday dinner? Was everyone able to make it?
Pinky, I just can't imagine what kind of a whirlwind it has been at your house, but since you are so used to it, it is probably really no big deal to you. When do the grands go home? Our weather is the same too, at dinner time last night I had to kick the heat in, the first time since I can remember! I couldn't remember the name of the hair style DGS has; you are right!! Mullet! I do remember Billy Ray Cyrus, and he had way more hair than DGS, which I am happy DGS's is not that way.
Carol, I can imagine seeing that man at church with the perm, with it being strange, as I was so shocked seeing it! As I said though, it might have helped if I knew ahead of time, so I would have been prepared. All DD said, before the picture popped up was: And then he did this! How are your eyes doing now, since the procedure? Did you see a nice difference, after having it?
Anngie, I hope you had a nice dinner out last night. What kind of place did you go to? I hope it wasn't too busy, with-it being St. Pat's weekend. How super of your DH to pick that friend up every month to go to the group lunch. Speaking of Netflix, they keep sending me an email of an offer to get it back for only $6.99. I checked back to see how much I was paying, and with tax included, it was $10.54. I am sure that $6.99 excluding tax, so it would be around $7.54. But for how long, as I am sure they would eventually get it back up. But my reason to get rid of it in the first place was because I had I watched all the Crown that I wanted to, and that was watching on the weekends, as I do not watch TV during the evening.
I invited Bob over last night, for a glass of wine, on his way home from his DS birthday party, which was around 20 miles south of us. He took me up on it, with coming over around 7pm. I was able to have a little chat with him about the direction of our relationship, which he is happy with and wants to be a couple, as in what the high schoolers would say (maybe high schoolers of our time) boyfriend and girlfriend. I am happy I had the guts to bring it up, and he jumped on it right away. Men, I tell ya, sometimes you have to drag things out of them!! So last night after he left, I deactivated my dating app. I do expect to NOT see him much at my apartment here though, as he is having a hard time with his hip, and cannot do anything about it till the earliest, September. I told him as he was leaving at least there is hope that in the near future I will be living where there is an elevator.

Karen, I am glad that you and Bob had that discussion, so basically you are "exclusive", as in not dating or looking around for others. Nice that he stopped by, but with that hip issue, I can see that walking up the stairs will be an issue. Hopefully you will make that move, because otherwise how will you see him. Did he bring your dish back?
Gareth, hope it all did work out to celebrate your birthday. Bringing it to you might have been a way for them to not have to totally clean up their house.
We ended up watching Oppenheimer last night. It's streaming on Peacock. It did have some parts that I was a little bored with, but it had a strong ending, so the 3 hours didn't feel that long. I ordered take-out from a Peruvian restaurant, which people were talking about on Facebook. It was good, but not sure I would order from them again. I have to go out food shopping, and can't decide where to go. I didn't sleep well last night at all, so getting a late start. Our landscaper came yesterday for the spring clean up. We had so many large branches down from our large tree, from all the rain and strong winds we had. He thought the old person did not do a great end of season clean up last year. Let's see if this works out better. He does the snow clearing, which we only needed once this winter, and he was pretty reasonable on that, but he added on to this bill so that gives me a big first bill. That was the only plus about my other guy, he had the total paid out over the season. He also took credit cards, because he owns a garden center, but then again, now I said if this guy doesn't, I might as well pay him in cash, then he won't charge me sales tax. I am sure he pays his workers that way.
Anngie, hope you enjoyed your dinner out. If we don't have plans with another couple, my DH doesn't love to go out to dinner, he would just as soon bring in.
And, on our foray into pizza, yesterday for lunch we heated up the leftovers in our toaster oven, and it was much better, crispy on the bottom, and the crust did not feel too heavy. Real NY pizza has a relatively thin crust.

Karen, I’m glad you and Bob got together last evening and good that you brought up what was on your mind! Now you know you are both on the same page. That’s so important. Hopefully, you might hear tomorrow if you got the apartment.
Gareth, I hope you had a nice birthday dinner with your family! That was a nice picture of you and DH on Facebook.
Robin, when we have leftover pizza I always reheat it in my toaster oven. I think it does a nice job as opposed to the microwave - which might be a bit faster, but not as good.
Well, so as I mentioned, we had this gift card and wanted to use it last night. So, we get to the parking lot and find a parking lot with at least six ladder trucks and various emergency vehicles! And all the employees gathered together in the parking lot! Probably a kitchen fire, but who knows. Needless to say we still have the gift card and found another restaurant on the same road to go to! Never ends!

Just finished my walk indoors since it's only 27Âş and windy. Only getting into the 30's today before it starts warming up again.
I had a really nice BD dinner with and DS and family yesterday. Afterwards DS dug out some of our old photo albums which was fun to look at. Lot of laughs over some of them. Mostly the pictures of both DS and DH when they had a lot more hair! That and DS's natural curly hair back then. Then we went for ice cream and sat and visited there for a long time.
Karen, yes everyone was able to come. You'll have to share pictures of both proms.
Anngie, at least that happened before you got to the restaurant and not while you were there.
Carol, is it the Digiorno rising crust pizza you like since you like the thicker crust?
Pinky, has the whirlwind died down any yet?

Anngie, sorry your dinner didn't work out. At least you will be able to use the gift card later.
Gareth, glad you had a good birthday dinner. It's fun looking at old photos. My niece made a book from Shutterfly for my sister and we enjoyed looking at the pictures.
Karen, I think back in the day we would say you are going steady and Bob is officially your boyfriend. I have to wear reading glasses but my far vision is good since the surgery.
We got about another 1/2 inch of rain yesterday afternoon. This morning was cloudy but the sun is out now. It was also cool. It was cold to me in the church so I put my jacket back on during services. I noticed there were several others who did the same. Afterwards, we picked up Mexican food and that has been pretty much it for the day.
Gareth, yes, that is the pizza I like.
I know I've never had Peruvian food. What is it like?
