š Good morning!š
I had a wonderful, productive day yesterday. My calories came in at just under 2000, but all my calories had nutritional value. Tomorrow is Nickās birthday and Iām making cookies today, probably snickerdoodle. Iād really like to remain sugar-free, but cookies may prove to be too hard to resist. Iām feeling good about my body and my eating, so Iām going to stay off the scale for the foreseeable future. Fast, Feast, Repeat is available to me now. Iāll start it after I finish the book Iāve been listening to. I started it on my run yesterday morning and couldnāt stop listening. Too Good To Be True by Carola Loveringā¦I just finished Bye Baby by the same author.
Lori, it sounds like your weather was beautiful too yesterday! Iām sure the fresh air was great for your mom.
Kathy, Iām so glad your dogs came back. You should definitely try on your wedding dress! I would probably swim in mine! I think I was between a size 12 an 14 when I got married.
Nancy, whew, Iām relieved youāre feeling more like yourself. Youāre so right, there is always something to be learned in these books.
Meg, yipppee! Will you aim for sugar-free again today, or have a treat since itās Sunday?

C134D2, 930 calories + the St Patrick's Day meal. I'm so glad I went. Had a lovely evening. So good to catch up with everyone. I had 3 small slices of buttered Irish soda bread, 2 slices corned beef with cabbage and roast potatoes. Really good. Also two slices of yummy buttered rye bread. They brought around a slice of cake with a cup of coffee which was great cause it avoided one of those buffets with tons of desserts. I did dance a fair amount but not as much as usual. I left a half hour early at 9:30. Brushed my teeth right away and nothing to eat at home or all night. Yeah!
Lori - Loved hearing about your day and about some fresh air for your Mom.
Kathy - G'morning.
Jan - Happy birthday to Nick. Time sure flies. How's he doing, BTW? Sounds like you're doing great. And thanks for the book recommendations. On my list.

Nice relaxing day today. After giving Mom her Spa treatmentā¦..
Jan, Happy Birthday to Nick! Enjoy the celebration! Nice to hear you had a smooth week all around, thatās how I feel my eating is goingā¦.nice and smoothā¦. The short walk and little fresh air, tires her out so quicklyā¦the doctors said as long as sheās eating, going to the community center and sleeping through the night thatās itās okay for her to sleep in the afternoons and weekendsā¦..
Kathy, happy to hear the dogs returnedā¦I also downloaded the bookā¦.TRE isnāt for, me right, now but it never hurts to hear about different toolsā¦. Yes, the bus picks up both Mom and neighbor Monday through Friday and brings them homeā¦.sometimes DH has to run across the street to get the neighborā¦.but Very Grateful they have someplace to go!!!
Meg, Awesome to read Sugar Free day!! Didnāt it feel good!! Iāve been enjoying the protein puddings. I think they would be a good SF treat for youā¦Today, for St. Pattyās Day, Iām going to use a vanilla premier shake and sugar free pistachio pudding - when ready to eat, a little sf cool whip and crushed up pistachiosā¦.yum and very Irish!!!
Nancy, Iāve been thinking about your questionā¦.oh, believe me, I felt that desperate feeling not too long agoā¦.It was like I didnāt know which direction to goā¦.what to eat, what to follow.. Starting Jan 1 was good timing for meā¦.fresh start _ I really thought about - what worked in the past? what will fit my current lifestyle? how and what do I like to eat?? I went to a WW meeting and they had us come up with a word that would resonate us and describe how we wanted our journey to goā¦.My words (I choose 2) Balance and Consistent Those 2 words have helped me a lotā¦so when I say eating is going well - this is my criteria. I count calories - aim for 1200 Mon to Fri, 1400 Sat & Sun - protein goal 95g, fiber goal 25 to 30g I have been trying to fit in small treats so I donāt say ānoā to something I really want. If I canāt fit it in that day, I plan it for the nextā¦ I eat when I want - somedays I skip breakfast other dayās I may have breakfast. When I eat out, I always bring at least 1/2 home - So far itās working, Iāve been consistently losing 1/2 to 1lb a week and I feel so much better. Most importantly, I havenāt had a bingeā¦.I did overdo desserts at the bridal shower but was able to get back on track before it turned into a free for allā¦..Balance and Consistentā¦.Jan 1 156lb, Mar 16 145 lb

Lori - Thanks so much for the explanation. I spent the entire day reading Fast Feast and Repeat. I've got a long way to go and am most interested in getting to the Feast section where she will get into what to eat. As to when to eat, I think I'm going to try her 12/12 TRE. Here's how she describes it: "12:12 isn't very different from a typical three-meals-a-day eating pattern, so you are unlikely to see much weight loss with this approach - but it is a place to start. When you decide to follow a 12:12 approach, it may be as simple as eliminating your current late-night eating habits and BOOM! You're doin it. That doesn't sound so hard, does it?" She provides several possible schedules. I would choose 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Breakfast at 9:00 AM, lunch midday, dinner finished by 9:00 pm. I like this because I will be eating before my morning activities and will be able to finish late enough that I won't be starved. The night time eating has been my problem with the exception of the last two nights, so this would be a significant change. I guess there's no snacking in between these three meals, so weight loss for me could be a possibility. Anyway I've got lots more to read. On page 84 of 340. This seems to fit into your "balance and consistent". Time will tell. I'm sure you find it a relief not having to worry about your Mom taking her naps. She's so lucky to have you and DH for support. This morning I weighed in at 152. Yikes!

I did end up starting the TRE book. I listened for quite a while, skipping several chapters. I got a nice kick in the butt and am really going to add more veggies and whole foods in each day. I saw a simple recipe and made 2 servings. Iāll take one for my dessert at lunch tomorrow. I put 2 cups of Good Culture cottage cheese, a ripe banana, some sugar free maple syrup, and a ton of cinnamon in my food processor and blended it up. Yum. Iām also packing 3 homemade egg bites and roasted asparagus. Iām looking forward to lunch!
Nancy, Nick is doing well and will likely be moving back out again. Iāll miss him terribly but itās time. Heāll be taking his kitten with him and Iāll miss her too. He just paid his car insurance for the next 6 monthsā$4k. And that doesnāt include collision.
Lori, consistency is the very most important thing IMO. Your success this year is because of your consistency. BTW, I made the snickerdoodles and didnāt have a single taste of the dough (I usually eat a ton of cookie dough) and have not had any cookies. Yay!

Jan - For some reason I thought you might skip the snickerdoodles. WTG! OMG the insurance price! Is Nick moving in with a room mate or alone? I had my last meal at 9 PM and will be fasting til 9 AM. It's a start.
