I could have slept another hour or two today- think my body is finally catching up from a time change and some travel last week (which resulted in a big change in my normal routine).
I did get one bobbin done with my machine, I have to rip out a small area and will take care of that today. Just happy to be back in the business of sewing and I am looking forward to finishing this quilt. Ruth, CJ and Sillyme, hope you slept well and have a good week ahead.

A day with little people today, who at least I was able to get outside despite it being a bit cold. I do know that tomorrow I am heading to Hobby Lobby and Joanns…..which might have to qualify as my crafting for the day. Hope that each of you had a great day and got some crafting time in.
I did take a picture of the stitching issues my machine is having, and will share that with the Viking sales help in Joanns. Personally I think it’s a tension issue, but before I end up having to take out a lot of stitches will consult with them. Actually its not much to take out- but I want CIndy’s advice before I do anything else.

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today It's a bit cooler here today, but still a nice day. Ginny - I hope you can figure out what is going on with your stitches. Ruth - I'm glad you finished the bonnet, and I'm sure it is beautiful. isillyme - Hope you've been able to do some crafting. I finished both of my Moda Blockheads blocks yesterday, so I'm all caught up. I thought about quitting this quilt along, but I'm going to try to keep going. I want to have 25 blocks done to make a top with 5 rows across and 5 rows down. Ruth and Ginny - Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with house problems and house sales, it does help to have someone understand how frustrating they can be. I received a call early this morning that the surveyor company could come to my house today, so I told them yes since I need to get this done as soon as possible. I drove up to the house to meet them and talked to them for a bit. It sounds like it will be 2-3 weeks before they finish the survey. In the meantime I'm going to work on seeing about the issues with the land and maybe I can get something resolved by the time the survey is done. There's not much else I can do but go through all the steps and process and hope things work out. Take care

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a good day
Ginny, I see you're having more trouble with your machine. That's got to be really frustrating to say the least. I hope they can help you tomorrow. I bet the little ones were happy to see you. That woman that was buying your mother's house sounds like she had being a pain in the neck issues.
CJ, I'm glad you're feeling a little better and are able to do quilting again. Yes that is about all you can do is to wait it out and hope for the best. And I hope the best is a really good outcome for you.
I haven't accomplished a lot today. I did make nice hamburger buns which I'd never made before. They turned out pretty good just smaller that I would have liked but I really didn't know what size to make the balls of dough because I didn't know how much they would rise. They rose really well but I was hoping they'd get wider. The recipe only made 7 rolls after I made each ball just a little over 4 oz as the recipe said to do. Well I'll try again maybe even tomorrow.

Everyone must be busy today. I hope that what you are busy doing is something enjoyable.
Weather here is great today..two days in a row
Ginny, no I didn't get any yarn from MM over the weekend because the yarn I wanted wasn't on sale. So today I ordered because it is on sale now and I had a code for free shipping.
I worked on the afghan for dd last evening but not for too long.I'll work on it again this evening or maybe even during the day while dh is napping.
Hope to see you all later.

Good afternoon!! So sorry about yesterday…it was DGD#2’s birthday and I ended up at her house for birthday cake to celebrate. I cannot believe she is getting older….such a funny little girl.
CJ- think the entire process you are going through is the reason why a lot of people do not like moving, if they do not have to. It’s a lot of work and can be so frustrating. We also had some similar issues when trying to sell my mother inlaws house, but it was not as extensive as what I went through with my mom’s house. Think you have a good plan trying to deal with what you can to resolve the land issues. I do believe that things were handled a bit differently when our parents took care of matters and now greater attention to detail is needed to satisfy the legal issues faced by buyers now. But the words its a pain in the neck come to mind….the sale will take place and its a shame that it will take awhile longer than you wanted. Hang in there…feel free to bellyache here anytime. Congrats on getting all caught up on the blockheads blocks!!! That is something happy to report…
Ruth, glad you were able to get a great deal from MM for the yarn you needed and with free shipping too! Progress on DD’s afghan is steady and sure- I know you will have it done in time for her birthday. Your hamburger buns sound good, did you try to make them again to see if you can make them a size that you desire? Funny I just found a recipe for beef pies, that sounds really good. I will have to pick up some yeast for the dough….the rest of the ingredients I have.
Silly me- how are you doing??
So I sent a picture of the issue I am having with the machine to Cindy. I did get to Joanns yesterday and had hope to see her then but it was her day off. She has gotten back to me and will forward my picture and comments to the service tech. I have decided not to sew any more until I hear back from her. Yes, it’s frustrating to me.
Today is cool and rainy, sort of feels like winter again, and it gets cooler tonight. But there is a dramatic change in the amount of daylight in a day- yes days are getting longer. Oh yeah Happy Spring, which started last night.

Hello - Hope you are all doing well and having nice weather It was in the 60s yesterday and the 40s today, but it's been sunny. Ruth - Your hamburger buns sound good. Hope you've been able to work on the afghan some more Ginny - Hope they can figure out what is wrong with your sewing machine Lots of trees and flowers are blooming here, so it does feel like Spring. isillyme - Hope you've been able to do some crocheting. I spent most of yesterday at the County Courthouse going to several offices trying to fix some of the problems that have come up with my father's estate and the land he had that is causing problems with the sale. My DB and DSIL went we me and I'm so fortunate to have their help and support. We were able to get the estate matters taken care of, but in doing that it has caused a new problem with the vacant land. I don't want to get too detailed here, just to say it's not going to be easy to sell that land. I'll also be meeting with a lawyer next week and hopefully I can get some clarification on what can be done with the land. In the meantime, the house buying company has finally contacted me and said they are still interested in buying the house, so I'm hoping that sale can still go through in the next few weeks and then I can deal with the land matter later. My main goal is to get the house sold as soon as possible, even if I get stuck with the vacant land. So, I haven't done any quilting for a few days. I did go to Walmart today and was surprised to see they still sold some fabric. Not very much though. They had one yard precuts that were all mostly novelty fabrics, I figured people maybe used them for pillowcases or kid's things. They had one small row of yarn too. I was looking for some of the ceramic top stove cleaner, since there are a few scratches on the stove in my rental. I've never used a flat top before, so I want to keep it clean and in good condition. I didn't find that but I see it's available at hardware stores, so I'll check there sometime. Hope you all have a good day. Take care

CJ, I've often wondered how people can sell things for which they turn out to have no title or whatever is is that keeps them from selling either a piece of land or maybe even a car. I sure hope the attorney can help you with that or whatever the problem is with the land.I'm wondering if you have a title search issue. I've heard of that but I'm sure there are other things that wreck havoc with trying to deal with property. As you mentioned, maybe now the house will be off your hands and you won't have to keep going there to check on it anymore or have the grass mowed and whatever else needs to be done. My Walmart has those pieces of fabric too. I never checked to see what size they are but they don't have many. And it was an unbelievably small amount of yarn. The yarn section is about 1/3 of one side of one isle.
Today is nice and warm. In the summer 63 degrees would feel cold but for right now I'm enjoying it. As for crocheting, dh thought I should make more hats to send to Indiana so I took a break from the afghans to make some more.
Ginny, I hope you're having a good and not too tiring day. Is today a "little people" day. I know those little boys are very cute and I bet they're fun to watch.

Oh and CJ, I have one of those stoves and have used suggestions from People that were on the other thread I used to post on and have watched quite a few YouTube videos on how to care for the stove tops. None of those worked for me.When we bought this stove they gave a small sample of some product that also didn't work.A friend advised not to buy a glass top stove but the day we were out buying a stove turned very stressful so I just grabbed one and have been sorry ever since. But it does cook so I just have accepted that whole issue.A rental is, of course a different thing. In that situation you have to keep it in good shape

Ruth - Thanks for the support. I know what the problem is with the land (just don't want to go into details in public here) but figuring out how to go forward is going to take some time. And I don't have time to keep holding onto that house. I need to get it sold. Some of the family might think I should wait things out to see how I can resolve the land matter, but that could take months! I don't really care for the glass stove top much either, although it's nice not to have to clean under the burners. My stove at the house had 2 of the 4 burners not working, one burner only heated to high and the last one worked normally. So I'm happy to at least have something that works

CJ- sorry about the issue with the land, but it’s good news that you should be clear to proceed selling the house. I am glad you had the support of your DB and DSIL today, to assist in the process of straightening out the house sale. May the rest of that go smoothly for you…so that the greater liability property, the house, can be sold asap. I am sure that the lawyer should be able to get you out from under the property also, but that will take time and yes some effort and money. Regarding what your family (or at least some of them) have said about the land, I agree with you that it’s probably best to get the house sold. I just saw a news segment on squatters….and in this sick world that is a real possibility Think it’s wise to sell the house and work on getting the land sale done eventually. For those who want you to wait, let THEM be the ones who worry about the property and drive there 2-3 times a week. Sorry for sounding harsh, but remember, I have been there…done that. I look forward to some of this resolving for you so you can get back to quilting. Oh, Walmart.com sells the product to clean a glass stove top
Ruth, walmart sells precut fat quarters. So you are back in the hat making business!! Glad you are enjoying some warmer temps.
I worked this am and then watched DGS#3 while DD went to a quick doctor appointment. I got together with Jane this afternoon for tea….which was great. Looks like I am taking my Husky back in - the service man responded that he wants to see my machine again. So I guess I am taking it in tomorrow or Saturday.
Sillyme, how is your week going?

Hello everyone Sorry I have been MIA this week, but it has been a crazy time at work. I bought a couple of Amigurmi books, so I had to make a couple of them. The book is called Crochet Impkins the pattern is so cute. If I can figure out how to post a picture of my impkin I am proud to show it off. I gained a half pound but I have been really busy at work lately that I tend to focus at the job at hand so I don't have a chance to eat something. This week is a very high profile event and my attention is really focus on that. When I come home, its playtime with my dogs, followed by eating something. I may have slowed my weight loss this week, but its ok means I need to remember to eat every 2 hours or so. Tomorrow is my Friday which means this week I have a 3 day weekend. I will take it.

CJ, your family members that told you that you should wait to sell the house until the land problem is solved are not the ones having to drive to that house all those times so although they are sometimes helpful you should do what's best for you.
Ginny, well I hope they get the problem with your machine solved this time. It's so nice to get together with a friend and have tea or lunch.
Sillyme, well that's life and ww claims to understand that we can't always stick to plan when things come up. Just keep eating as close to the way and the foods you are supposed to eat and in getting some exercise and you'll be fine. Everyone who has ever been with WW has had a time or two and maybe more where they gained a little.Circumstances and life happens and sometimes we have no choice and also sometimes our bodies just need to stop and adjust.
