Hello everyone!
It was a travel day yesterday as I drove back from Newport. We stopped at the commissary on the way home and stocked up on meats, bread and other things. The commissary was empty so we sailed throughโฆ
Prices there have risen but the meats and dairy products were well worth it. We also went to Aldiโs and did well on bread prices as well as cheeses.
I hope you are all well. We are corned beefed out. For the last 10 days, we have had it numerous times. Corned beefโฆ we will see you next year.
Have a great day, my friends!

I am getting SO FRUSTRATED with the internet. Phone line is seldom working and filled with static if working at all. Internet is unpredictable and flickers more than it is constant. Talking to family is iffy at best. I am glad we don't have cable TV or I am sure that would also be an issue.
We bought the items needed for the potluck and I roasted the sweet potatoes and pumpkin seeds, made the salad dressing, packed things up, wait for the arugula to "dry" as it drains so I can pack it up, too. I will assemble it there. The recipe I am making is www.loveandlemons.com/sweet-potato-salad-recipe/ and the dressing seems lacking in something but perhaps others will figure out that it is fine or the ingredients will come together when in the dish together.
I am tired for no good reason and am eager for the change tomorrow will bring.
Hope all are doing well!

Good morning. Cathy, I'm sure you are frustrated with your communication ability. As those of us living in the US, we are so used to always having internet and phone capabilities, although I have been reading that some rural areas in the US don't have good access to phone and internet. Our local rural telephone company has been very active in getting us good telephone and internet service. They've been working on getting fiber to the home going for all the areas they cover. I have the latest up to date service and my phone and internet service comes from them. With Fiber in the Home I have built in internet service and don't have to have a separate router, and the bill for both goes directly to the phone company. I have it set up so they and many other companies like the rural electric company withdraw it directly from my bank account.
I've got nothing specific planned for today, so I'll pick a project or two to work on and concentrate on my exercises. That's about all I have to report today.
Have a good day, my friends.

Hello all,
Cathy, I don't understand at all, what on earth has your salad recipe got to do with your drivers license??? We are so spoiled in this country. We have internet service, and cable TV through the same carrier. It is Comcast. They have a great product, but their customer service is the Pitts!!! When you call them with a problem, you get someone either in India or the Philippines, who cannot speak 2 words of English, I don't understand them & they don't understand me (especially with my Southern drawl). I end up so frustrated and angry that I usually just hang up after they have sent me to a dozen different offices. There is now a program trying to get wi fi to very rural areas. My friend (shopping & ice cream eating buddy), her mother lives in a very rural area. She is getting internet service & cell phone service installed today. She is 88 yrs old & she is very excited. She has had a cell phone for years, but she could never use it at home. She only used it when she traveled. It is part of the "Connect America" program.
Today, we will be eating left over sweet potatoes & corn. I am cooking some chicken tenders in the crock pot. I browned them a bit first then put seasonings on them & a bit of ff Italian dressing. They smell wonderful.
Not much else going on. I am going to run a load of stuff to the donation center. It's hard to believe how much stuff I have already gathered up. I was going to keep it till the end of Lent, but the pile was so big, I had to take it now. I have a large box & 4 trash bags tied up, plus a clock. Where on earth did we get all this stuff? For a couple that started out with absolutely nothing, we have sure accumulated a lot! After going through just my pajamas & night gowns, throwing out the ones that either didn't fit comfortable, or ones that I just haven't worn in a long time, I was able to free up 2 dresser drawers!! Of course, I have already filled them up.
Much cooler here today, we are only in the upper 40's today. Supposed to freeze tonight, hope it doesn't mess up all the beautiful trees, bushes & flowers that are in bloom
Have a good one Beaches!
