Good morning!
Well, let's see....I am not the greatest at picking themes for the day, but it seems l am getting more practice at it lately. I somehow think that, even when I am retired, Monday will still have the feel of the beginning of a week. What are you going to motivate yourself to do? I am really going to be thorough about planning in my planner for the week. I have a lot to do over this week and need to be thoughtful with my time. We fly out for San Diego on Friday morning (DH and I) and will be there for about 48 hours---but it will be good to get away I am sure. It isn't too warm there -- in the mid to high 60s. So this week I am motivated to stick with my plans in my planner!
Sue: Wow, it is so odd about that pain radiating to your rib area as well. Who knows what causes these things but I do hope that it is feeling better. How nice to be celebrating Sarah tonight! I hear you on the age thing....my own age means nothing to me but the ages of my kids is what makes me feel old sometimes! It sounds like it will be a nice celebration for her and I love how the boys take this on too. I do hope that you explore podcasts--there are so many great ones out there. The kids did great in their half marathon yesterday. I was so glad that we were there. It was HUGE...they held the start/finish at the River Cats stadium (minor league baseball team)---and it was a longer day than I imagined. We left at 8:00 am and didn't get home until 3:00 pm! So, I didn't invite anyone over for dinner but did talk to everyone (DS24 and DM). I just decided to not stress myself out with dinner. I did do work-work for a couple of hours though and finished washing/folding clothes. We won't be home until Sunday evening next week so I am trying to make the most of this week. I am proud of Hannah too! I can't wait to see how it goes for her! I hope that you have a good day today and woke up feeling a bit looser in the rib area.
Carole: Well, I LOVED reading that you were the one getting those girls to walk with you in NYC! Seriously, that is a GREAT NSV!! I hear you though on the learning about who you travel with. Even with Meg and I....we are very close friends, but I will see how the travel goes! She might think I am too high maintenance! LOL, you never know. I am glad that you pushed them on dinner though....I traveled quite a bit with my two running friends (you might remember that I recently went with them to Kauai) and I look back on how frustrated I was travelling with them. In San Francisco, they INSISTED we eat at El Torito (a mexican food chain--several of them right here in Sacramento!). All of those great restaurants in SF and we ate at a chain. On Victoria Island (Canada) they insisted we eat at Sizzler (a chain steakhouse here in CA) because they like the "salad dressing". Really? It took the trip to Kauai in September for me to tell DH that I realized that I really didn't enjoy travelling with them that much--I love them as people, but not for travelling. So you know for next time, right? I am just so happy that you went and hope that you can go on that ride one day soon. I am thinking that you said that your CPAP can be adjusted on your cell phone or something? I hope that the doctor can tweak it so that it is more comfortable. I am sure that it takes some adjustments like that. The important thing is to let him/her know--don't just "deal" with it. Hoping that you had a nice Sunday and some nice time outside?
Jenny: Oh, I loved that picture of you with your glass of Rose! It is nice and sunny here too until Friday. While it is cool in the shade, it is perfect sitting in the sun for a bit. I am so glad that you could be outside getting ready to host the birthday party. Yikes about Barbie....that all sounds like a showdown!
Christine: I hope that you had some down time this weekend with everyone home.
Hello to Jo, Karen, and all who follow. I am going to get ready and head into work a little early. Today they are interviewing for my replacement. Tomorrow is final interviews with the top 2 candidates. The plan is for me to work "with" the new person for some time....the Deputy Supt mentioned 10 DAYS....two weeks??? Really? Sheesh, anyway, I think they will find that I don't have enough time to do that-- it is overkill (unless they hire someone who is TOTALLY unprepared). There is SO much to get done these last months, I am not even sure how I am going to get my vacation time in --we will see. Okay, hope that you all have a good day!

Sue: Don't ya' hate that? When you can be FINE, but one move and WHAM, the pain is brutal?? Hope it's a bit better for the work week. Glad you can move your pool time, to celebrate Sarah. ♥ How's she doing lately? Yummm, sausage and french toast! Hmmm, not much help here - we don't "do" wings either! LOL I enjoy bonelss wings, when we go out, but not a fan of real wings. (with bone).
We got to NYC shortly before 11 am, and headed home around 7:30pm. I was in my driveway at just 11:30. It was a LONG tiring day, but I just love the city. Not sure I could LIVE there, but MAN I'd love to spend a few days there, in the midst of all the chaos! The doctor had said a nasal only, but the tech fitting it, said with the reports she had I need one over my mouth as well. Because it won't help if the air goes in my nose and straight out my mouth. I'm just struggling with still feeling so tired after sleeping 9+ hours!
Thanks for the ideas... might have to invest in a foam "weight"! I have done my weight lifting several times, so maybe this summer I can do the same routine, just in the water? I know I need to strengthen my muscles, and it will help with my bones as well.
Oh yes, we saw beautiful budding trees and forsythia and even cherry blossoms, in NYC. Thankful for my injections!
Jenny: Jealous here LOL Looks like you got your patio all set for the season. I can't wait to be able to do that here!
Gabrielle: Thanks for starting us off again today. I had a rough night, so I let myself sleep in again! This HAS to stop soon! I actually had an email from the CPAP machine people today, well the "My Air" app I guess. They noticed my mask has been leaking more than it should! HA! Imagine that!! Hope to hear back from the Dr. today, and hoping she can lower the pressure a bit. ANYWAY - thanks, MONDAY MOTIVATION is a PERFECT theme for the day. While in NYC I tracked, but yesterday, I didn't! I didn't eat anything until dinnertime, just felt awful all day. Over tired - stressed - angry, you name it... I felt it! Then Ken made pizza for supper! I'm sure I hit my calories! LOL But know I didn't get my protein. So today, I am starting off a little better. I have had my high protein breakfast and will soon get my next bottle of water - coffee is about gone! LOL May as well move on to water.
The sun is shining beautifully right now, this week should be only 30s-40s, and may have SNOW on Saturday! At this point we are just hoping for sunny and warmer on Saturday the 30th! That is Bake Sale Day!
Yes Gabrielle - you will be so happy with yourself, if you get the plans in the planner. I am glad you can get away for the wedding, even if it is a short trip. Just think next time you can even just drive or motorhome down and be able to stay longer than 48 hours. ♥
Woo Hoo so glad you could be there for the kids! Long day though... but glad you skipped the family dinner. Will DS24 be staying at your house while you are in San Diego?
LOL Yeah... it is strange sometimes to travel with people, rather than just going out to dinner! Like I told DH I will go again, if they ever want to do another day somewhere. IF we ever go anywhere again, I will make it a point to meet over lunch/dinner with them to PLAN THE DAY! So they can see what the walking/touring will be.
Thanks, yes, I can't just deal with this mask thing. I know I need the Dr input on it, and see what we can do. One of the suggestions, in my email today, was to move the machine. The leakage may be from the tube dragging every time I move? I'm just very frustrated because of course I thought THIS was going to be THE ANSWER to my sleep/fatigue problems!
While I agree the new hire should work with you, I'm not sure 10 days is enough! Maybe they are afraid the new person will get scared off if they spend too much time with you! LOL ONLY Because you do more than they will probably be expected to do. well I do think they should HAVE to give you your vacation time - IF you don't use it, they will pay it to you when you retire right? I mean, personally, I'd rather have time off than extra money - but that's "me"! LOL
OK Need to get moving here. NEED to get some things accomplished around here today - can't afford another lazy - do nothing - day!
♥hugs♥

Good morning
I’m so stiff and sore but I got as much as my body would let me do in the yard. I even got my lawn fertilized and fed. I didn’t get the pressure washing done by the time I got the leaves raked up along with the pine cones and mowing done I was tired. I did get my little fountains up and I did hose off the patio. I think Kerry said he wanted to pressure wash while I’m at work and I said ok. Got a few flowers planted. Tonight I’m BBQ some chicken breast and asparagus so I’ll clean up the smoker as well. Yes, it was 75 degrees this weekend so it was perfect to sit and enjoy the sun and have a glass of Rose’. My patio furniture stays up all year around so it’s ready to go when Spring gets here, all I have to do is put the umbrella up. I got a lot of steps this weekend, over 13,000 on Saturday and 14,000 yesterday, yeh!

Gabrielle, thanks for starting us off this morning. Sounds like you had a great time supporting the kids, did you enjoy the corned beef last night, boy I sure did enjoy mine. We only have it once a year and it’s a treat for me. It was really nice after all the work I did to have the crockpot make it for me. It’s getting real close to retirement for you, that’s got to be exciting. Any word on the people that might buy your car, I saw you had it on market place.
Sue glad you made breakfast for dinner that’s always a treat to do once in a while. Yes Fred is an ass, but I just stay clear of him and I really just mind my own business when it comes to work. I feel bad for Barbie but o think she can handle her own. I’m out of it. That’s the way I think.
You know with the wing situation, what I do is I fold them up like you normally do and then put them in a 400 to 425 degree oven with salt and pepper, then while they bake I get out the Franks hot sauce and put it in a bowl, when they are done in the oven you just put them into your favorite sauce, I love Franks or garlic Parmesan, or teriyaki and toss and they turn out awesome. I also take a little extra sauce on the side just in case I want more flavor. It’s really easy.
Carole so happy you had a good time in the city. We did the midnight carriage ride and it was ok, I would have liked to do it during the day so I could see some things. I love NYC, I would like to live there if I was younger just for the excitement. I’m sorry your CPAP is not friendly right now and it takes some time to get used to and with the pressure of the air you have to remember and retrain yourself to breathe through your nose all the time, that’s was hard for me at first but you get used to it after a while. I also have a nose mask, Kerry has a nostril mask but he had problems at first with it making your nostrils sore. Hopefully your weather warms up soon, I loved this last weekends sunshine but it won’t last long.
Ok hello to Jo, Christine and Karen
