This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning and happy Tuesday.
I feel like my spirits are finally lifting despite the finger injury. It is a bit sore but all in all, it really isn't too bad. Because it isn't the pad of my finger, I can type and it doesn't bother me. If I hit it on something it hurts. The cut is about halfway down the first part of the finger and curves around toward my middle finger. The glue is starting to peel and that is making me a bit crazy. I have a feeling if I catch on of the raised edges and rip that glue off, I am going to have a mess. They did give me a prescription for antibiotics but because I spent 4 weeks on antibiotics with my sinus and ear infection, they suggested I only get it filled if the wound gets inflamed looking.
Lora I completely understand the IL situation. I am glad they have you and DH to help them even if they do not show much appreciation for it. Just be thankful they aren't living with you. The weather here has turned cold again. It is not fridged but cold enough I am wearing sweatshirts to work this week.
I feel like I am finally in a place where I am not just trying to make it through the day -if that makes sense. I am ready to start focusing on getting healthy and getting myself on track. For so many weeks I felt so yucky and worn out that all I wanted was to just make it until it was time to go back to bed.
I am also really, really looking forward to my mini trip this weekend to NC. The house my mother grew up in is a place where I always feel completely at peace. I don't know if it is all the memories there or that I just feel like I am surrounded by love there; I really feel my grandparents and my mom presence there. I am so very grateful that my uncle owns the house and allows us to use it.
Janet sorry your partner was out yesterday. It had caring for a parent is hospice. I hope she has some help. Glad your new child did well yesterday.
Waving to everyone. Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning, everyone! Jana - thanks for starting us! Glad to hear things are looking up. I think physical & emotional health are so closely tied together. If one is off it can be so difficult to manage the other. In the inverse, improving one will usually improve the other as well. Grab the bull by the horns and keep your uptrend going! I'm sure you're going to enjoy your weekend in NC. Today is gym day & errands day. I really need to get to my teeny tiny local library. Our printer isn't working, and I need to print an Amazon return label. I MUST get this pkg. returned this week. I tried to go last week and there was a sign on the door "Closed due to death in the family". Then I saw on their FB page that they'd be closed through yesterday. If that's not small town life, I don't know what is...Hahaha! Not laughing at the family death, but that our library has exactly ONE employee and if she's out, then they're closed! Lol. They also close 2 weeks every year when she takes vacation. Again, small time life, right? Anyway, I need to get going around here. I hope everybody will be having a lovely Tuesday. I'll likely be checking back later. It's cool here again today, but the sun is out so I'm going to enjoy that a bit.

Good afternoon all. Lora you small town life made me giggle. Most of my life I have lived in small towns. I live in a big COUNTY now and don't even have a town name - LOL but we are remote. The little family owned restaurant near us closes the same way. When the owners go out of town they close while they are gone. It is generally July 4th week and then again around Labor Day. It is cold but sunny here today as well. I have my office window opened just a crack because the sun coming in is making it super hot in here and I wore a sweatshirt because it was 32 when I left home this morning. I don't know if I mentioned it or not but Zeke tore the ACL in his good leg a couple of weeks ago. He is scheduled for surgery on that leg next week I told R we were going to have a robotic dog. I feel so bad for him. He is actually getting around pretty good but you can tell in the mornings he is really stiff and sore when he wakes up. Hopefully this will be his last injury for good while. Knowing that I am only working 1/2 day tomorrow has me watching the clock LOL - I am so ready. Seems like when you want to go somewhere the day really drags by.

Hi again!
I got all of my errands accomplished, including getting to the library and got my amazon return labels printed, then taped them onto the boxes and took them to the local pharmacy (which is our UPS drop off location)..Lol. I almost bought a little metal painted rooster there (a small version of the ones Jana and I both already own), but it wasn't priced and I didn't feel like making the inquiry, so left it on the shelf. Maybe next time I go by I'll ask about it. They really do have the cutest home decor stuff in there.
It's turned out to be a beautiful (but chilly) day here. Of course, since we have the pool box in the garage it will take forever to warm up. haha!

Hello All - tap dancing this morning; they want me to teach the "Irish" dance we did for our community St. Pat's party next week at tap, so I have to see if I can find the music we used and practice more. I was late for bridge since my LLI class on Norman Rockwell (very good) ran til 1:00 and that is the time that bridge starts. Of course I made them aware that I would be late. This evening we will go to church dinner and then chill watching TV. I skipped Line Dancing (as I told them I would after all the practice they last couple of weeks).
Jana - ouch! Glad to hear your finger is doing a bit better. When you go to NC, will you go near the place where Pops is staying? I guess I got spoiled with those warm days we had 'cause I hate this cold! Sorry about Zeke - hope the surgery goes well.
Lora - gee, I hate that our library is closed on Sundays --I guess I will be thankful! I take DGS occasionally on Saturdays. I have a book there now that I have to pick up and the books that DGS got that last time are due Sat.
Janet - if your partner goes part time, will there be someone else to help you?
OK, off to read a little.

Hi Everyone.
My teaching partner was in today. She said she doesn't plan to do part time position. If she did that I think she would lose her health benefits which with her being in a lot of debt already won't help her. She doesn't expect that will last that long but it is lasting longer I think than they expected that it would. With him trying to get out of bed and hurting himself they may have to put restraints on him for his safety not as a punishment. He is very combative though so I would worry he might easily pull them off or hurt himself more. If so they may have to move him to the hospice place which he clearly told them he wanted to pass at home.
Jana, glad your finger is doing better. Enjoy your time away on your mini vacation.
Some of our city libraries have reopened on Saturdays but not the local ones closest to me. I haven't been in the closest one in so long. I usually have to stop after work at this other library.
Have a restful night!
