Good morning:
Think First Thursday--take a moment to think before you make decisions regarding your health today---what to eat, what to drink, if you can fit in that time to move. Even 30 seconds can make a difference! Well, I am still tracking (and will continue)...unfortunately for my niece, the chance of rain is looking pretty certain for her wedding and reception. The invitation says that it is all outside (and it looks like the place is an all outside place) but I am sure that they must have a plan B? Highs in the low 60s...probably not what she expected for San Diego. The dress that I bought won't work for this weather so I will find something in the closet tonight and return the dress. I need to get packed tonight and clean my car well since we are showing it to someone on the way home from the airport on Sunday.
Carole: I was thinking about your situation of waking up tired. I am really starting to wonder if it is something else that is adding to it. Maybe a slight depression? I am actually wondering if I will experience that a bit when I retire. Don't get me wrong...of course, it will be great to not have to go to work. But I do wonder if such a big shift does a little something with your emotions? Just a thought---trying to think of what might make you feel better. I hope that you wake up a bit more refreshed today.
Sue: I hope that you are recovering from overdoing it at the pool. Has it been about a week now? I am trying to remember when this started. Such a bummer for you and hope that you can still sleep.
Hello to all who follow. I need to get my act together and run with the group. Hope that you all have a good day---not sure I will get to pop in later.

Good morning!
Just popping in to say hello!!
Did the TM this morning and wrapped up another contract report- our students start Spring Break next week- I’ll be heading back to Fulton Co (I know, already!) to test incoming kindergartners. Last year we attempted to test during the summer and had too many no-shows so changing it up this year. I won’t be able to return until end of May so I consider this my April trip 😁
We got about 3 inches of Snow ❄️ yesterday with freezing winds - high of 29 degrees today - a good day to stay focused on my work and Plan! I have been tracking and planning my meals daily- staying strong!

Morning Gabrielle, Christine and all to come....
Back/ribs still giving me a fit so will play it by ear for the pool...might just walk instead to get in some movement....I know if I get in the pool I will likely do my usual routine and that's what got me in trouble on Tuesday....
Only 26 degrees this morning and 10-15mph winds....NOT at all like spring!! Winds are to die down as the day goes on....temps will come back up to more "normal" in the mid 50's after today and the high of 44! Brrrr....
Last night was a bit chaotic at the house but the boys are with Josh tonight so it will be peaceful and quiet to give me time to pop in here....
See you then...have a great Thursday!

Sue: Sorry your ribs/side are bothering you again. Might be time to call the doctor?
Good Morning Gabrielle - and all to follow. Woke up to 24 degrees, a little more snow, still nothing to have to deal with - but COLD! We also have a wind advisory all day, So much for Happy "Spring"!
Think First Thursday... I have things prepped, so not much thinking required! Today, we start laying the flooring! I will be moving, but probably won't get many steps! LOL
Sorry the new dress won't work, due to weather. Glad you can still return it. Hey I saw those pics of your car on FB... I'm sure it doesn't need much more cleaning! LOL
Yeah, I don't know... my "sleep coach" called yesterday... of course there's a coach for that! LOL Anyway, she assures me, this will get better over time. I told her it's already been 6 nights... and SHE said, "or think of it as it's ONLY been 6 nights! The first 4 nights "don't count", since I didn't use it the whole night, and the higher pressure was waking me up! Ummm, ok it does make (some) sense! I scored 100 again last night. and Fitbit shows no yellow peaks in my graph. So, in theory? I have had 3 good nights sleep. On the other hand - someone suggested I make myself get up at the same time each day - not just laying in bed "thinking"... and make myself get into a routine each day. SO ~ Once we get this room floored, and I can start moving stuff around upstairs, I THINK, I will actually start getting things more organized and it will (maybe) help. Right now, I do spend waaayyyy too much time on the computer - not getting anything done around here. I do agree, part of all of this is the switch from depression, and SAD.
Yesterday was chilly, but not bitter cold, so I managed a 1.5 mile walk! I need to get myself out of the house more often, I think. In YOUR case, I don't think you will have difficulty with not having work. I only say this because you will continue your group running/track/trail runs, so you will continue to get up each day with a plan in mind.
I do hope you have a nice day today - and can get home early enough to pack and be ready to head out tomorrow. What time do you leave?
Christine: Hey GF - YAY for already getting TM done and another report. Yikes, OK, makes sense to head to Fulton County, and get the testing done. Ugh, well 3" of snow isn't too bad, but yeah this crazy wind is awful!! I agree - a good day to focus on yourself. Hope the day goes well for you.
Sue: We'll be lucky to get to 32 degrees today, so enjoy your 50 degrees down there! Although with the winds it won't feel like 50!
Sleep last night was better - I think I slept 6 hours before waking up the first time. Got up for the BR and took my Synthroid, and then back to bed. Woke up again around 6, but let myself fall back to sleep until 8. Fitbit says a score of 86, so I should feel good right?? Time to do my weekly check in for Kait/Joe...then need to get breakfast and ready to lay flooring!
♥hugs♥

Good morning
I feel like this week has felt like I got ran over by a truck. Lots of commotion with Barbie, but she wasn’t the only one that had to go discuss her situation with HR, I guess there was a line that day with complaints about Fred. He suspended another one of my friends and demoted another high up boss, then Barbie explained what was going on with her end. The complaints kept coming. It’s just plain crazy here at work, I wonder if there’s a full moon? LOL… I’m staying out it…
I have t been walking because I’ve just been to tired and drained, I’m not sure why. I have been tracking though. My mom called so I had to go to the store and get some bread for my dad so he could make sandwiches for himself. They both want to go shopping on Saturday with me so I will take them.
We finally got PGE to come out and get the meter for our panels and get them hooked up so that is almost finished and we can start using them.

Sue sorry you over did it in the pool. I hope you feel better soon.
Carole it’s getting close to Arizona trip. You will be able to maybe get in some sun time down there.
Ok sorry personals are so short but I gotta run it’s getting busy at work.

Gabrielle, thanks for starting us. Sorry your dress won't work for thatcwedding. I hope they have a plan B geeze that would be bad of they didn't. Saw your car on FB too it looks really nice! Doesn't look like you need to clean it up much.
Carole, my goodness you are still having trouble sleep worth that thing?

Evening all....opted out of the pool....I sneezed and a sharp pain flew in my side....crazy spasm like pain so put some muscle rub on it and it seemed to relax a bit...now sitting on the recliner with the heating pad wrapped around my side.
Gabrielle....thanks for getting us started each morning this week....you have become the pro these days....Carole usually started us off but now that she's retired, she isn't the early riser anymore!! Some mornings here are just so chaotic with everyone getting up and about for work and school... Personally, I think you themes are just fine!! I agree, Monday will always be the start of a new week, working or retired! Sounds like you have a good plan to keep the week organized so you'll be ready to head to SD on Friday. Glad you got your planner out again...it does seem to keep you more on track or at least aware of what needs to be done and prioritized.
Actually Gabrielle the pain IS in my ribs......it's not really my back....it goes from right under my left b00b and goes around my side almost to my spine.....it's a little more toward the back of my side....it feels like pulled intercostal muscles (between my ribs)...when I take a really deep breath it will some times "grab" and spasm. It is improving but I think I just went back to going my usual routine in the pool too soon, then sneezing today didn't help!! A lot of the arm and upper body stuff I do in the pool I can feel in that area so I think I just need to be a bit more patient.... LOL, I am now understanding why when I turned 40 he said "man I feel old"....I'm the oldest and this year, MY oldest will be 40....I know what he means. Really no biggie that I'm going to be 64 but how can my girls be that old already???
Glad the kids did well in their half marathon....yes, long day for you so makes sense to not invite everyone over for dinner...needed a little time to yourself. I often do the same as you, get ready for Monday the week before if was are going to be away for the weekend...makes it a lot easier and keeps me from scrambling when I get home late on a Sunday!!
Gabrielle...had to laugh at your recollection of your time in SF with some of your running friends opting for an El Torito, the chain restaurant over a nice other restaurant. I'm all for a local, NON-chain options every time....the Sizzler for the salad dressing actually made me LOL....I had just taken a sip of my drink and almost spit it out....that's ridiculous!
Carole...yes, it is frustrating when you all of a sudden have a pain that you don't even know what you did....you sneeze, reach for something, something simple that you do over and over and one time BAM.... Sarah is doing better for the most part.....she has her moments and this week and next week she is working OT so by the end of the week, the tired, cranky Sarah arrives so we tread lightly by Thursday/Friday LOL!!
I'm with you Carole....while I would not want to live in the city, I do love to wander around, enjoying the hustle and bustle, seeing all the sights. That sure was a long day in NYC but sounds like it was a fun day!! Our friends were in DC over the weekend to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom....their pictures were awesome!!
It does sound logical that the mask over your mouth makes more sense to get the full effect of the air pressure...I'm sure it will take time to get used to it and get it adjusted just right for you!! I had to chuckle to myself when you mention that you got an email from your CPAP machine! You know I was thinking about something I read a long time ago about sleep health...the usual, turn off screens/TVs, avoid caffeine/alcohol but one thing it stressed was having a "sleep routine"....going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time....I know now that you are retired the need to set an alarm is not needed but maybe that is something to think about....make your time in bed only to sleep and not anything else.
Here is the article....
The NIH says adults need 7-8 hours of sleep each night to stay in good mental and physical health, promote quality of life, and avoid an increased risk of injury. They recommend these tips for getting a good night’s sleep:
1. Go to sleep at the same time each night, and get up at the same time each morning, even on the weekends. 2. Don't take naps after 3 p.m, and don't nap longer than 20 minutes. 3. Stay away from caffeine and alcohol late in the day. 4. Avoid nicotine completely. 5. Get regular exercise, but not within 2-3 hours of bedtime. 6. Don't eat a heavy meal late in the day. A light snack before bedtime is OK. 7. Make your bedroom comfortable, dark, quiet, and not too warm or cold. 8. Follow a routine to help you relax before sleep (for example, reading or listening to music). Turn off the TV and other screens at least an hour before bedtime. 9. Don’t lie in bed awake. If you can’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, do something calming until you feel sleepy, like reading or listening to soft music. 10. Talk with a doctor if you continue to have trouble sleeping.

Jenny....you sounds like Jason this time of year....once he kicks into yard/garden season and he's outside using muscles he hasn't used for the 4 months between garden seasons he's an achy mess!! Hope Kerry does the power washing for you....maybe while you are at work this week!! It's a little too early for planting any flowers here except maybe pansies....they are pretty hearty but others they say Mother's Day. We too enjoyed a nice weekend but not quite as warm as yours....then reality set in with the cold weather back for the last few days....but today is the last of the cold days in the 40's.....we are expecting to get up to 3" of rain on Saturday....a real soaker!! I'm painting on Saturday HOLY MOLEY....that's a lot of steps last weekend!! Yes, we all love "breakfast for dinner"! Thanks for the wings help....how long do I need to bake them so they are done....don't want to serve raw chicken!! Do I have to put them back in the oven after I put sauce on them?? I'm a real "wing newbie"!!
Gabrielle...guess the rains you Friday are finding their way to us on Saturday....glad you are enjoying some nice warmer weather. Fingers crossed despite the temps in the 60's the rains hold off for the wedding. We be anxious to hear how the interview process goes and if the colleague does get the position....it does sounds like she would be a good fit to take over when you retire!!
Carole....sounds like you are being force to be patient with this CPAP machine....sounds like even though it's not quite adjusted correctly it is doing what it's supposed to....no yellow on your Fitbit means you are getting better O2 saturation...that's the whole point!! Hang in there!! I just ordered my Bento boxes today.....I had them in my cart until I needed a couple other things....today Gloria asked if I could order a couple basket balls for her great niece and nephew for Easter so added them to the basket and ordered them....hopefully it will get me in the habit of getting multiple lunches/snacks organized for the week of lunches!
Carole....you will have to let me know how the Wizard of Oz Scavenger Hunt is.....they are doing one here in York (where we met you at the diner for dinner)....I thought it would be fun to do....I think I saw it on FB too and was curious if any of them were close and I was surprised it was only 25 minutes away!! You really do have a fun-filled spring and summer ahead....
Honestly Carole...I do not think the CPAP will be the "miracle cure" for your fatigue....I truly think that it is many factors and this is just one part of the big picture. The fact Jenny heard you gasp for air means you were NOT getting the O2 you needed during the night....this is needed but it might be a matter of adding exercise, changing routines, etc....I've learned that often there is not one "fix" to anything but it takes many things working together for success!! Fingers crossed things all start to fall into place.
Yes....I knew that spring didn't officially arrive until 11:00 on Tuesday but it WAS the first day of spring even if it was for only an hour! LOL!! Ah yes, snow in March/April is very common in New England....I lost days of school in May....hence the last "frost day" being Memorial Day!!
Gabrielle....love your take on "Welcome Wednesday".....yes, we are in the home stretch for the weekend....what time is your flight on Friday?? Are you and Ed leaving the car in long term parking or is someone taking you to the airport?? Glad you are listening to your body and recognizing when you are tired and just need to stay home and relax. Yes, not being able to focus and concentrate on something you have done many times is a clue that you need to just call it a day!! YAY, sounds like the colleague might have been the one who they chose? Do tell!! Have to admit, when you live in PA, a late March wedding is NEVER one you would think about having outside! Odd to wrap my head around. Bummer that the day is not going to be nice for your niece's wedding but hey they say it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day....it poured buckets the we got married....I mean BUCKETS!!! While life has not been all "popsicles and sunshine" we will be married 42 years so maybe rain is a good thing???
OK....it's after 8:00 and I've got a couple things I need to get done before bed....sweet dreams all....will finish catching up tomorrow!
