This challenge was created fifteen years ago by a few Weight Watchers members.
We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes.
Success isnβt always measured at the scale.
Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on.
Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join.
If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started.
If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Hard to believe we are almost one fourth of the way through 2024 already. I am ready for spring to arrive and though the first day of spring has been marked it does not feel like spring quite yet.
Yes I did: get back on program, track every BLT on paper and on the app, showed a drop on the scale this morning, commit to another day OP Yes I can stay OP all day, track it all, and stay positive
BOOKS: * Finished Little Witness by S.A. Dunphy, wrote the review (liked it) and will read the second book soon but want to put a book or two between to come in "fresh" as it sometimes help NOT to read books back to back. I like the team and the potential of the story and hope book two sustains it.
* Started Taken to the Grave by Cara Devlin - book 7 in the Bow Street Duchess Mystery series. It reminds me a bit of the Ann Perry's series with Charlotte and Thomas Pitt that began with The Cater Street Hangman...but it is different, too, and this one has a bit of the paranormal in that the duchess has the ability to "see" things when she touches objects. I will finish this book and write the review then move on to the next book.
FOOD: Yesterday's lunch was fennel fronds cooked with sauteed onions I added black eyed peas to. With it I made beets with a bit of lemon, apple cider vinegar, salt, and sprinkle of sugar and I had bulgur with mine and my husband ate his with pita bread. Today's lunch was a one pot meal that had sauteed onions and garlic I added broth, basmati rice, tomato paste, bouillon cube to and then topped with chopped zucchini that cooked in the steam as the rice cooked. Also had some eggplant so peeled, chopped, cooked in the microwave and had that added to the dish.
It is good to see that many have checked in this past week and hopefully all will be able to post between now and the end of the month.
Question: What do you tell yourself when faced with choices at meal time (eating out, at a potluck, etc)? Do you have phrases or actions or touchstones or some other way to remind yourself of choosing the healthiest option possible?
My answer to the above is that in the past I would: plan ahead, save points, know what I would order in advance AND I would tell myself that whatever was on the menu would be available when I reached goal weight so why not wait till then to have it and get the weight off.
NOTE: I am going to use the "It will still be there when you reach goal weight - have it then." phrase because I am finding that I am able to rein myself in where I am now and drop the few pounds that find me. I can do the same, drop the few pounds, when at goal weight and stay at goal weight if I forego the temptations now and reach goal weight by waiting on the foods calling out to me along the way to goal weight. That's the plan, anyway. Maybe I will start wearing a ring as a reminder to touch when I do go out?

Hope to talk to our daughter today if the internet cooperates. My daughter is at a conference in Chicago and my son and his family arrived in Singapore after a 24+ hour trip. They were touring soon after arrival and hope they get some sleep on the trip...doubt they will have time to talk tomorrow. Scale was down a bit more this morning, we have leftovers available for lunch, and it will be a good day.
BOOKS: Finished the book by Cara Devlin and have the review ready to proofread then post this morning. I've started A Marriage of Lies by Amanda McKinney and expect it to be a roller coaster ride of psychological suspense. After that will probably read the second S.A. Dunphy book I started the series of and finished the first book in the series a few days ago.
YES I DID: Stay on program, stay positive, get enough sleep, eat healthy food YES I CAN: have another OP day and track it all
I need to come up with the yeast bread I want to make and then...make it. Not sure which one to make but have to see if the yeast is still good or not as both tins are expired.
Hope you all have some relaxing fun plans for the weekend!

Happy Saturday.
Cathy: I think I have read all the Ann Perry books and enjoyed them. The Women by Kristen Hannah is my next read and I hear it is excellent. Really enjoyed Four Winds by the same author. Hope you got to visit with your daughter. It must be hard to be so far away from the kids and grandkids. I like your meal Mantra about having it after goal. That is exactly what I said to myself when I quit smoking 40 years ago, I can start again when I'm 80. Of course, I never would but the mantra sure worked for me. LOL
Very windy and rainy this weekend. I am still sleep deprived from these dogs that wake me up in the middle of the night and I can't get back to sleep. Only 2 more days till the owners come home. Yay! We gave them a bath today in our large shower. These are big dogs, what a job! Our guests arrive on Monday so will have dogs and houseguests together one day. I think people are much easier. Healthy diet plan not going so well. April 1st I will NOT be a fool and will get my act together for real.
It's 8:30pm and I'm going to bed. Good night and sweet dreams to all.

march 24
The internet did not cooperate yesterday, I became frustrated, and my mantra did not help much at all. I ended up mixing tahini and sugar together and realized that if I had been on a "diet" with "free-zero-point" fruit a piece of fruit would have been reached for instead...so...reset the app to THAT option and am tracking that way this week...at least that is the plan.
As a result...the talk with our daughter, even paying to use G4, cut out before we were finished. Not sure if we will be able to talk to our son and his family today - they arrived in Vietnam and have posted a few photos on instagram so...we will see. My sister also posted from Costa Rica - she heads home the 25th, I think.
I am still researching bread recipes and have not chosen what I will take on Wednesday. I will figure something out but...not sure what. I have a few cookbooks out all about bread and will decide...soon.
BOOKS: I am enjoying the book by S.A. Dunphy and will probably finish and review it today. Hopefully the internet will cooperate! Not sure what will follow that book.
We have leftovers that I can reheat so doubt I will make anything "new" though I could use some of the leftovers to make a soup and throw in the white beans I took down to defrost.
JAN: I read the first books in the Ann Perry series till I moved overseas and couldn't find them any more. My father started reading them and we followed as they were in the house. I found I preferred the earlier books to the later ones. There was a spinoff series with an Inspector Monk or something that started with an M and she did a few other books then started writing with her son, maybe? I remember finding out that she and a friend murdered someone - I think the friend's mother - because one or the other was moving and wanted to prevent it...something like that. Bashed in the person's head and were in some juvenile facility for awhile? Your mantra on smoking is a good one.

Good Morning ~ It is windy, cool, and a bit overcast with the potential for rain later today. I have red beans defrosting (cooked earlier and frozen) to serve with rice, cabbage, tomato-onion salad, and a garlic-yogurt sauce. It is a "bowl" that will remind me of a tostada but not really BE a tostada. I am still contemplating the bread to bake and take and wondering what this week will bring...hopefully better internet!
Yes I did: stay OP, enjoy a nice soak in a tub of hot water, go to sleep in clean linens, and sleep in till eight this morning Yes I can: have another OP day, track everything, and stay positive
BOOKS: Still reading the book by S.A. Dunphy and will finish and review it today. Was approached by the May McGoldrick writing team asking if I would read the book they have coming out tomorrow and though behind, will do so. The wife had breast cancer about twenty years ago and it suddenly popped up and though fighting it - may not be long on earth so am glad they have been writing and am more than willing to put there book ahead of a few others I am already behind in reading.
Healthi app is having glitches. Their last update caused macros to not track on android phones. I put in half a serving of something and it won't decrease the calories of that item so you have to create a NEW food and input it or if you double a serving then input it twice. I just ignore it and double tracked on My Fitness Plan yesterday to find that the discrepancy had healthi about 400 calories higher than My Fitness Pal. Ugh!
Bella is calling for food so need to give her some. Hope we all have a good week!

3/27 day is done and so am I. I was up early, waited in the car as I got there too early to knock on the door, read in the car, went to the yeast baking event, had fun, have stories to share, and am am plumb tuckered out. Might have more time tomorrow but also am playing cards in the afternoon. Such is life. A full live is better than a stagnant stinky one so will go with the flow.

Good Thursday noon, positive peeps π₯π₯!
Cathy - I feel bad that you have been alone on the thread this week, and you keep plugging away even with all the glitches in your internet etc. Brava!
Rick and I got yet another Covid shot on Friday, can't recall if I mentioned this already. We decided that it would be wise to boost ourselves as so many people will be coming from out of town for the Solar Eclipse on the 8th. We don't have any houseguests coming but we will be at a couple of events at the local museum & science center that will probably be very crowded. My reaction to the shot was a lot easier than the one in October. Just a sore arm and low energy over the weekend. Schools will be on spring break all next week up thru Eclipse day. So no dance or lessons. But I do have a lesson tomorrow, on Good Friday. I think they missed noticing that on the schedule. Oh well.
Yes I DID: --get out for several walks in springlike weather --have a good monthly WI at WW studio this a.m. surprised that I lost a tiny bit. Glad to be "free" for another month. --continue feeding the feral kitties. We've named a 4th one, another all-black one, Sootie. So now we have James, Ruth, Inky, Sootie, and another one who comes less frequently. I'll have to think about it.
Yes I CAN: --continue working on finding an evening (bedtime) meditation that works for me. It does help me to relax and rest my brain somewhat but I still am awake sometimes at the end of the meditation. --let OK be good enough on the decluttering front. I have done lots of email purging (2464 deleted so far this week.) Also worked on one corner of the kitchen, degreasing, decluttering, etc. Need to continue. --get out for fresh air even if just a short walk

Happy Saturday, positive peeps π£π₯πΌ!
Yes I DID: --have a good cello lesson, reminded myself to keep on even though not perfect....and it was very satisfying to do just that --a nice walk in the refreshing cold air --find a good meditation that actually helped me fall asleep
Yes I CAN: --get back to working on my taxes this week....2/3 done and left it hanging.... --enjoy having a day with nothing pressing on my schedule --do another walk in the fresh air & find a brief (10-15 min.) weight training session online
Be well! Carol

It seems I took a break from the boards? Not intentional but the internet is still iffy and then gone and when I get off my usual schedule I don't often return to check in later.
Scale is hanging in there with the fluctuations but no significant trend down. Such is life. I continue to read and review. Big broad/butter beans are soaking to make lunch with. Will probably cook then add onions, tomatoes, and garlic and serve over rice with a cucumber salad.
Yes I Can: KOKO, track on the app and paper, walk 30 minutes while reading
Happy Easter to those who celebrate. There are two dates celebrated here and I think this is for the Maronites and Catholics and the next one for the Greek Orthodox. Not sure when the protestants celebrate.
