This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning!
Janet - Oh dear! Pot holes are THE WORST! They can do so much damage. I hope it's nothing.
So, IDK what today will bring. MIL is back in the hospital. She was having elbow pain yesterday and it got worse through the day. They went to the ER after calling her doctors office and being told to go to the ER because they were concerned with a blood clot. I told her and DH that it sounded like a possible stress fracture to me. They kept her overnight and are thinking break or fracture in the elbow area. I mean, they may have a definitive diagnosis by now, but we have not heard any further updates as of yet. She has absolutely zero muscle strength and has been using that arm to push herself up to stand and ease herself down to sit. She also has bones like swiss cheese from osteoporosis...so there's that.
Anyway, not sure what today or the weekend may hole in store for us. We're just trying to remain flexible and go with the flow.
Cautionary Tale of the day: Keep your bones strong by keeping your muscles strong. LIFT . HEAVY . THINGS. Over and Over and Over again. Don't wait until it's too late to start to worry about your health and longevity.
Yesterday before MIL went to the hospital, she messaged me, "This is getting old." And I know she meant that she's tired of hurting and being miserable all of the time and limited mobility. But it also kind of had a double meaning...Yes, this is exactly what getting old looks like if you're not taking care to keep your body as healthy as possible.
Take care of yourself today to protect your health in the future. Jumping down off of my soapbox now.

DH briefly spoke with his father a little while ago and he really didn't have an update, but then I don't think he'd been to the hospital yet today. He's supposed to be keeping DH "in the loop". Since it looks like we may need to be "on call" for the weekend, I went ahead and got a gym visit in this morning. I think my thigh muscles will be a little sore tomorrow...Lol. I increased weights a little on 3 machines and increased reps on the others. I can feel it in the fronts of my thighs already. Lol.

Hello All - went to my gym class. When it was over, I did the "wall sit" to strengthen my thighs (which I do often) and this time I tried resting extra weight (dumbbells) on my thighs as the instructor had suggested since it was getting easier for me. Yippee, I did it.
Lora - I totally agree, you have to work to keep your body strong. It worries me if I have to stop for knee surgery that I will start to lose strength and may not be able to do the same things afterward...thus, working so hard on my thighs to support my knees. I know they are bone on bone and the Dr is probably surprised I have made it this long.
Janet - I hit a big pothole one time in a parking lot and it DID blow my tire. I think it bent the rim too. Fortunately, AAA came to the rescue.
Waving to everyone. DH met DS at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch a little March Maddness and I am going to read.

Hi Everyone, I decided that even though the towing guy said he didn't think that the tire was flat and maybe it wasn't totally flat but to me looked low and touching the ground that I decided not to drive to work today. Originally I was going to try driving it a bit and see how it was driving and turn around and come back and park it. I decided to call and make an appointment for tommorow and have it checked out.
If it is okay then I will feel better about driving it. The ironic thing is that I bought that tire pressure air inflator but I still haven't tried it yet. I wouldn't have wanted to try it in the dark though the first time under pressure to get to work.
I think it might have a light though to see at night. So even if it just needs some air maybe instead of any work while I am there I actually need to get my oil changed anyway so at least will request then to do that. I am trying to pay the recent work I had on my brakes before doing too much else.
Lora, I hope that your MIL will be ok and something that won't require even more assistance for her by you and your DH.
The kids had a Easter Egg Hunt outside this morning. Our director( the one that had the baby) went outside and hid eggs around the yard for each seperate class. The kids had fun. Later the administrative staff made a party to celebrate a staff birthday and to say a farewell/thank you to the other temporary fill in staff member while she was away having her baby. So basically an easy afternoon for most everyone except for the teacher who had extended care with 9 kids. I feel for her but she doesn't know how to engage them and just let's them do whatever they want. She had about 30-45 minutes though to be free of the responsibility of them to eat the lunch that we had. Have a restful night!
