Good Morning - looking forward to WARMER temps starting tomorrow! Today is another day of 20s & 30s but at least clear and sunny. I'm sure the snow will melt with this sun. When I woke up yesterday it was snowing again - but stopped by mid-morning. Ridiculous it keeps snowing but we had such a mild winter it's not that big of a deal.
I am hoping to leave by 2:00 for my drive to Fulton. Now that it's lighter outside later I don't feel the need to rush to arrive before dark. I just hate driving in the dark in the mountains especially if I hit bad weather. None expected today. But still road construction along the way - Fulton has 7 cases for me to test. The preschoolers are quicker to do than school age and there are 3. I should be able to get all 7 students finished before end of school day Tuesday. Currently I am finishing report #5 of 9. Not moving as quickly as hoped but maybe I can squeeze in ONE more finished report this coming week.
I took a break yesterday from report writing in order to organize TAX info. Ugh. What a pain. Paid some bills too. Glad I organized all my receipts and tracked down business expenses from my contract work. Now I'll need to plug in all the info and see what we owe. Trust me, I am not in any hurry lol I pay taxes quarterly so that helps some...
Quiet house this weekend. Carly & Ben did not come home but will be here Thursday for Easter Weekend. On Thursday Carly and I meet with the lighting specialist for the Reception. She has to decide the lighting color (called uplighting) that will be in the Ballroom - and of course it's not included - but we have a choice of gold soft lighting or any color really. She is leaning towards gold but I am thinking maybe soft pink?? She also needs to pick out where she wants string lights around the Head table, behind it? or in the table skirting? And don't forget the cake table and cookie table - So many decisions! Also, get this - grrr - Ben's mother backed out from making their Cake! She declined. Said she really didn't have the money to do it after all. Ben is heartbroken because this was her ONE contribution to the Wedding. Now she's just a guest. His mother was a baker at the local grocery store for years and years - she took disability due to constant aches from sore back and arms.
And we are scrambling to find a new Cake lady...we have a few recommendations and Carly is trying to connect with them to see if they are available and can we meet to try a few samples?? I am deeply disappointed his family will simply not help them with the Wedding. But, not my business so I have to let it go. Carly and Ben both have 2nd jobs to help make ends meet - Carly is thinking about a applying for a 3rd job for the summer to help with Wedding expenses.

Sue - I'm glad you are pleased with the chicken painting - I think it's a rooster? Sounds like you overcame a challenging one. How are your ribs/back feeling? That is a tricky one as you found out even a sneeze can set off spasms. Ugh. Hopefully you can rest it before returning to the pool. I know walking is not the same but it is good cardio too and easier on the joints than jogging. I'm glad Sarah wasn't too cranky on Friday after a long week of OT...
Carole - I love reading your posts about your days! Makes me smile! I thought of you the other day when it was SNOWING so hard and thought, yep, our Carole can just stay put today! I know you worked from home the last few years but still, to have no 'have to do' routine has to be less stressful! You will figure out a new sleep routine. Being patient with yourself is a good step towards that. It takes 6 - 8 weeks to form a new habit Your AZ trip is right around the corner! You will be so glad you are booked it and now it's something to get ready for. Sorry to hear Zoe was so sick last week and now poor Kathy. How did Patti escape the germs?
Gabrielle - eager to hear how the wedding went! Did it rain? Was Plan B just as special? I really hope it all went well! And now you are ready to move forward with finding a newer car for yourself! You will know when you know. Take some pressure off yourself - find your zen and breathe. I'm relieved they found a replacement for your position. I know you feel like you don't have time to have a shadow at work but the replacement needs to see the day-day duties you tackle and not just on paper. Will you be able to take any time off before July? Or will your PTO be part of your retirement package? My dear friend the Title I teacher is retiring (66 years old) and she submitted her intent letter. Crickets. Nada. Not a word from our HR nor from NP! She casually mentioned to NP did HR tell her? NP said, "No but did you attend the retirement sessions?" Made my friend nervous that she missed a step but I assured her she already attended the retirement sessions NP is referring last summer and again the Teacher's Union one last weekend. I feel bad no one is congratulating her or acknowledging this milestone. In private, NP has come to me complaining about my friend and said, "Why doesn't she just retire?" Well, now she is retiring...geeze. HR said, "I don't know how to handle a retirement, no one has ever retired before!" That's not true, as Dragon Lady supposedly retired. Whatever.
Jenny - I hope you had a good day with your parents yesterday! It's so good of you to take them shopping. Sounds like they prefer your help - maybe your DS rushes them or 'doesn't do it right' lol Yes, you are right, you need the rain for your lawn. I'm shaking my head here as we never even think about lawns until late April early May. My daffodils tried to come up - and were buds - then this snow. Drats. I may not get any this year which is sad. They are hardy but not sure if the timing of the snow did them in. Hey, that picture of your patio last week was of the SAME table I have for our deck! LOL GMTA!
Waves to our Jo and Karen (was there a wedding? Did we miss it?)

Jenny: Well for a Saturday sit down and rest day, it seems you were pretty busy! LOL How do you cook your fish? I am not a big fish eater, except for fried. Same... the memories popped up on my FB page too. Wish I were in TX today! I'd take 65 and sunny over my 20 and sunny any day! AZ is only 52, but even that will be better than this! Glad you can steer clear of Fred. {{{hugs}}}
Sue: Interesting chicken! LOL Is that a black canvas? or did you have to start by painting the canvas?
Christine: Good morning ☼ Same weather here, but our snow/sleet/rain stayed all day yesterday! It didn't warm up as much as they said it would, so we had downed power lines, trees on wires, power outages, what a mess. Nothing here, but all around us, very thankful we didn't lose power. It HAS been a mild winter... I can tell by how many bags of pellets we will have to move/store this summer! UGH! We usually have 5-6 bags left, this year we have a LOT.
Glad not so stressed about the drive to Fulton County today. Yikes that's a lot of reports to get done! I know you'll do it, and keep things on task. Eh' yeah, no hurry getting those taxes done! LOL Except having to gather the funds to pay what you owe. Ours are in the hands of the accountant, still waiting to hear from him.
Oye Vey... so many decisions... thank goodness we didn't have all that to worry about when we got married! LOL OMG... she backed out now?? Thank goodness she didn't wait any longer but seriously?? UGH! Would she do it if the supplies were bought for her? I mean it would still be cheaper than another cake person. Not "right" by ANY MEANS, but a cheaper way to not stress as much? I can only imagine how this all makes Ben feel. The fact he & Carly have to work extra to pay for things his parents should be responsible for. I wish we were closer - Ken's cousin does exquisite cakes!! I do hope Carly doesn't have to get yet another job!
Yes, no "have to do" routines is good, but I also think a little bit of a bad side to having nothing really to have to get done! It allows me to be too lazy! WOO HOO One week from tomorrow we hit AZ!! Five days of WARMER temps and SUNSHINE!! LOL Patti escapes germs, because she is never home?? Seriously she doesn't take time off to stay home with the sick child... and she works in the bank... germy people and money is disgusting, to handle all day! Zoë was FINE yesterday! LOL I think one night of good sleep helped her a LOT. She was sooo funny last night. Watching Frozen II! She & Ken went to bed about 9, she was out by 9:15, and here is is 8:50 and she is still sleeping. Both girls were so good yesterday - no issues, no arguments, it was so nice (for a change)!
Oh I do feel bad for your friend. Working so many years and retiring deserves to be celebrated!
I'm a bit miffed... I never got my plaque for 25 years. I know it would have been given to me at the annual banquet this year (earned in October), but since I am retired, I was not invited to the banquet! That's fine, but I still deserve the damned plaque! I know, I know, it's "just a plaque", but I have all my others, so yeah, I wanted my 25 year!
I do hope NP and HR get their sh!t together and support her rather than just kick her out the door!
I'm worried about my small patch of daffodils too. They were just beginning to bud, now they are snow covered. Hoping they will survive.
Safe travels today, glad there is no weather for you to worry about getting to Fulton County today.
Gabrielle: Safe travels to you as well, and fingers crossed, your friends like the car for their daughter! Then, yes, you have to make a decision... but once you do, it will be behind you! One less stressor in your life!
Nothing on my agenda today, except getting Zoë home. Oh and the cooking and dishes that I chose not to do yesterday. Oh and I guess I do have things to do today... also need to get my summer clothes ready to go to AZ! This week will FLY BY, with pies on Thursday & Friday, Donuts on Saturday, as well as being AT the bake sale. Then Sunday is Easter, and we leave at like 2:30 AM Monday! Probably should have waited to fly out Tuesday, but Eh' it's fine... I'm fine... it will be fine. So cool, I have plenty to DO today, as well as some time in the tub - hopefully while the sun is shining bright! Gotta get the last of my pre-tanning in before we get to AZ!
OK Guess I can get moving here, but don't want to go upstairs just yet. I want our girl to sleep as long as she can.
Might pop in later ♥hugs♥

Good evening:
Finally getting back on here after a couple of days away. We ended up shifting our flight to an earlier one...I got a message early today that our 1:15 flight was delayed to 3:30 due to weather (supposed to be high winds, thunder, lightening) so I jumped online and moved us to an 11:30 am flight. And it cost $40 less! So that flight was on time, smooth, and we got home earlier....and I just got the text that our friend wants to buy the car! Wow, so much happening over the last two days. I am going to take a half day on Tuesday and DH and I are going to drive 4 different models to make a decision. Thankfully, the dealers are right next to each other so that makes it a little easier. Wow, a lot going on but it is all good. The wedding was beautiful...it did rain and the place seemed unprepared for it. I was so glad to have an umbrella and instead of a tent, they pieced together a bunch of umbrellas over the seats for the wedding. So there were these holes where rain poured through. I was kind of disappointed in that as I am sure they paid a lot for the venue. But I think it was like my niece wanted it and that is what was important. She looked beautiful and so happy. It was wonderful to visit with family and just not think about work or anything else....a nice but short trip.
Christine: By now I would think that you are in Fulton county and getting settled. Not quite as many kiddos to test, but still a lot of reports to write! Wow to Ben's mom dropping the ball with the cake. Poor Ben....such a let down. Wow that Carly might get a THIRD job? How could she even have time? I hope that you can find another person for the cake and have that worry off of your plate. I am so sorry for your friend announcing her retirement and then encountering all of these things from her workplace. That is AWFUL. Sheesh. I hope that she ends up feeling like she knows what is going on. Yes, I am fine with working with someone as things come up, going over things and how I have organized everything but, truthfully, shadowing me for two weeks I don't think will really make that big of a difference. She and I are meeting for lunch on Thursday. We will figure it out ourselves. My deputy supt is on vacation again this week and he is so flustered about all of it....I think that he will appreciate that she and I have a plan. I have a one-on-one with him every week for one hour. He wants her to sit in on all of them as well. That is 13 more hours of her sitting in...and if it is only an hour, I am wondering how we will get everything done if we are stopping to explain everything? I think that they need to give her more credit...she is sharp and will be figuring some of it out---I have NEVER had this much onboarding for a job...I can't imagine. Anyway, I am not working 12 hour days to make up for time when we can't get things done so we will see how to find balance. I do hope that things go well in Fulton and that your daffodils raise their brave little heads in spite of the snow!

Carole: I am so glad that Zoe is feeling better. I know that you have brought up her scattered sleep routines in the house. I am sure that it all catches up with her--glad she has quiet and relaxing time with you and Ken! Wow, Patti is fortunate to have so much support around her...I am sure that she knows this. Yay for AZ being right around the corner! DH's bday is 3/30 -- he will be 65. We are now getting all of the SS stuff. Why can't they send it in one envelope? It is a separate envelope every single day. I will be so glad when it is all done. I love the floors in the bedroom--such pretty grain! Any decisions on the kitchen? You are right...I will decide on the car. I get anxiety again because I am retiring and get nervous about paying for anything. Sheesh, I need to get over it! I hope that you continue to feel better about the CPAP...but what is this sore spot around your nose? Something rubbing maybe? I do hope that you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Sue: I love the chicken! It looks GREAT! I see that Christine asked if it was a rooster. I am not sure how to tell the difference unless a chicken is standing next to a rooster? I love the colors. I do hope that you can get to the pool tomorrow...you have been patient with all of the rib pain. Yes, the wedding was lovely and they had rain for good luck. I sent a little blurb about it to my DSIL (mom of the bride) when it started POURING about an hour before the wedding. It was a little story about why rain was good luck for a wedding....thank you for the idea. Hoping that you have a nice evening.
Jenny: Wow, sounds like Fred causes quite the commotion! Mmmmm...fish for dinner sounds so good! I have gotten in the habit of buying these cedar and cherrywood "skins" that I soak in water and then place seasoned fish on them, wrap it up, tie it with a string, and cook it at 400 degrees. It tastes SO good. It will be nice to have Audrey home, won't it? Hoping that your weather improves.
Hello to all who follow. I need to get moving around here and to bed at a decent time and get to the gym tomorrow morning. I hope that everyone has a nice restful evening!
