This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good Sunday morning to all!
Sorry I didn't make it yesterday. We went to the hospital to check in on MIL and that ended up being an all day thing, as you might expect. Anyway, she does seem to be doing better than when she checked in. Now they're saying they suspect some form of gout type process is responsible for both her knee issue two weeks ago and her elbow issue now. They drained some fluid off of both joints and are testing that (I guess for uric acid crystals), but I'm not sure. Neither her nor FIL are very good sources for details or any real information. Although, I really though gout would almost always start in the foot (especially the big toe) or ankle area. And that other joints like a knee or elbow were progressive signs of a gout condition that had been a long term issue. But IDK...I guess we'll see what comes of it all. They said she'll likely stay in the hospital for a couple of more days. Anyway, her younger sister and her husband are driving up today too spend time with her at the hospital, and this hospital is pretty strict with their 2 visitors only policy, we're not going today.
It's chilly and in the 30s here this morning, so we're going to wait a few hours to head towards the track & gym.
Susie - thank you for starting us yesterday. I hope the egg dying is great fun!
Janet - Oh goodness! It sounds like your friend and her brother are in a really bad situation. I feel bad for her having to make these kinds of decisions for him. I know it likely weighs heavy on her.
Waving to Jana, Jill & Robin and I hope all are doing well and that Jana is enjoying her weekend away.
Take care, I'll try to pop back in later.

Good morning, Lora, maybe the drs. will finally find a solution for your MIL's ailments. I am not sure what type of solutions there are for gout??? I don't know a lot about it. It's nice other family is able to visit her today, and you have a break today. I AGREE, the weight lifting now will certainly help now and way down the road. Susie, enjoy the time time with the grandkids, how fun! (and yummy) Your LLI class again sounds exciting. So you are cleared through your neuroligical appt., have they found a solution for the migraines? I might have missed that. Janet, I am sorry about your friend and brother, that sounds hard. Also, potholes.... ugh. Jana, I hope you are enjoying a great girl trip. Robin, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. My spring break starts Wednesday afternoon, and I'll have a week and a half off. I can't wait!! It's a tricky time of year and the students are restless. Yesterday I enjoyed going to a birthday party at a friend's house, which was really nice. I'll head to the gym later today. (((( Hugs ))))) to all!

Hello everyone,
I have been trying to keep up with you all through the week, but just haven't been able to jump on and post anything. Yesterday, the fellow that Breslin was with before I got her, stopped by with a bunch of dog food and treats. The weather was lousy so he wasn't here long. It was the first time Breslin had seen him since she came to live with me (1 1/2 years) but she was so happy to see him! It was great. He took pictures of her, too. After he left I ran to Tractor Supply. I need to make a quick trip to the grocery store but I don't have any other plans today. It is really nice and sunny out, but chilly in the low 40's.
Lora, I'm glad they might have figured out what has been going on with your MIL. Unfortunately, gout can show up in any joint at any time. It is completely manageable, though. Maybe getting rid of that pain will lift her spirits again.
Susie, I know you are going to have a fun day making and coloring all sorts of eggs!
Janet, darn the potholes! I've been dodging them when I can, but they are brutal sometimes. I hope the tire is ok.
Jana, I hope your finger doesn't bother you during your getaway! I'm not surprised that there was some discussion about the treatment...fingers are tricky to stitch, depending on the location. We often called in a plastic surgeon in the Emergency Dept because of the risk of scarring and interference with movement in the future. You can buy Liquid Bandage at a pharmacy and re-glue the cut, as long as it is clean and dry. I keep that here for cuts in areas where bandaids don't stay. Have a safe trip home.
Waving to Jill....hope your weekend has been good!
Well, YDD just texted and said they are stopping by in a little while, so I had better get ready for that. I'll be back,

Hi Jill, you snuck in on me! Yippee for Spring Break! I can imagine it is hard to keep the kids' minds in the classroom right now. Have a great Sunday.

Robin, that is so nice that the fellow that Breslin came by for a visit and treats. Isn't it amazing how animals remember their people? I hope you have a nice visit with YDD.

Hello everyone!
Too bad it's cool and windy, because otherwise it's turning out to be a pretty good day. I got in a really good workout at the gym and just heard a really good update from MIL. Apparently they've diagnosed her with pseudogout. So not actually the urates causing the issues, but calcium deposits. She says she feels like a whole new person today and they're going to send her home tomorrow. She will have the home nurse coming by to continue whatever it is that they're currently giving her via IV, but she says she's moving quite well now, and pain is minimal. She actually sounded really upbeat, so that's good. Also, she's already looking forward to water aerobics in their neighborhood that starts in May, and she's setting a goal to be able to attend those sessions this summer.
Jill - Goodness, I'm sure the kiddos will be a little extra Mon, Tues & Wed, but who can blame them? I'd likely be as well. Lol. Do you have any special plans for your time off?
Robin - So very sweet for Breslin's former steward to stop by with treats! I bet at this point you're getting anxious for it to warm up enough for pool time. I know I am! Lol
Susie - So DH and I were talking in the car a little about the upcoming presidential election. We were discussing what we thought things might be like if either of the current leading candidates might win. He said, "I think there was maybe only one previous president that served non-consecutive terms, but I can't remember who it was." I said, "Oh, I know! It was Grover Cleveland." He looked a little surprised that I came up with that so quickly. It's definitely not my strong topic. I didn't tell him how I knew. Haha!
Well, I think I'm about to cook us up some ribeyes. Dh wants his with a side salad, but I'm going to have a side of jalapeno slaw that I made up yesterday (just regular creamy slaw with some seared, fresh jalapenos added in). Then I think well watch a little March Madness Basketball. Both our men's and women's team are still in it, so we want to see them through for as long as they can hang in.

Hi Everyone, Lora, I am glad that your MIL is feeling much better than she has been. I hope she will stick to her goal of getting to the pool. Robin, glad that Breslin got to have a visit with his previous caretaker and had treats and food. Jill our kids start their Spring Break tommorow. From what our director said she is only expecting one child and that is a good kid. He may get bored though being by himself . We have Friday off. I could have taken another day but I wouldn't be doing anything special. I have some days where I have to leave early so am saving my pto for that. Susie, I hope you had fun with your grandkids. Have a good day!

Hello again,
We had a nice visit...ODD didn't come by, but that keeps some of the crazy down, with two less dogs! I'll be keeping YDD's dogs for a week in July. They are small dogs (one is 12 y.o now and he owns a huge part of my heart) so they are easy to have around. My biggest concern is them getting trampled๐
Lora, that's great news about MIL and her much better mood!
Janet, is Friday your only day off for Spring break?
I'm going to go prep something for lunch tomorrow. I got fresh spinach from the farm stand so I will make a small side salad, for sure. I also need to get the coffee ready and hang up some fresh scrubs. I might head up early and read for a while. I hope everyone has a good start to the week. I'll be back when I can. Waving to all,
RobinMD

Hello All - dying eggs was great fun with the grands!
Lora - glad other family will be with DMIL and you guys may get a break. Great that they know what it is AND that MIL is planning on water aerobics! I LOVE that you knew the answer to the only President who served non-consecutive terms!!
Jill - yippee for Spring Break - are you going away or just staying home and enjoying the time off?
Robin - awwww, I bet that was a sweet reunion for Breslin. I have seen where elephants remember people years later.
Janet - Well it should be a good week with only 1 kid.
Sleep well everyone....
