Good morning!
Wow, 38 chilly degrees this morning! I did get to the gym --- it seems like it has been a while but it feels good to be back. This morning I will get my bloodwork done for my annual thyroid cancer check up on Monday 4/1. Then head in to work where I hope to have calmness due to so many out for Spring break. Later I have my annual dermatology skin check (yes, it's that time of year when all of these things come up). I am still kind of shocked about selling my car, but it is all good. Tomorrow afternoon will be good to finalize some of the thinking about what to get. I am also filing my retirement paperwork this week. I spoke with the rep last week and he suggested that I download the forms and complete them--then see if I want to go in to see someone. So that is what I will do. Also this week I am meeting with two people who will be taking over parts of my job to start filling them in on things.
Sue: I am so glad that you are feeling stronger and know that you will be careful at the pool...just glad that you feel better! How fun to have David down for the weekend---something to look forward to. Where will they stay while they are there? It will be fun to show off the kitchen (and everything else). Hope that today is a good day for you.
Well, I am going to get going. Hope that you all have a good day and get moving!

Gabrielle: YAY for being able to get an earlier (and cheaper) flight home! Yikes, I cannot imagine a wedding venue that isn't prepared for rain! I know "It never rains in Southern California"... LOL But geeze that's just not right! Glad your niece just went with it and enjoyed their day ♥ Well yes it sounds difficult to get your replacement up to speed. I know you and she will work it out, but it does sounds like a lot.
We have our own furnace guy coming tomorrow, to discuss moving the baseboard heat. Wondering if we can get that done cheaper than the contractor? We'll see. DH also has thought of one more guy to call... so the process continues!
I think I had the mask too tight, when it was losing air. When the Dr. changed the pressure I also had tightened the mask... it rubbed against my nose. Now that the pressure has been lessened, I have loosened the straps, and I think it is getting better. Scored another 100 last night, so I guess it's doing it's thing? Still waking up groggy and headachy, but I think that's lack of water the past several days. SO Back to Basics... Drink 100 oz of water each and every day!
Good Morning Sue - Thanks for starting us off this Monday. Yes MOVE IT MONDAY... MUST MOVE today!! WOO HOO for David & Katie coming up for the weekend!! Glad they can come up to see the new kitchen and addition and just spend time with you guys!
Gabrielle: YAY for getting to the gym and starting your week off on a good foot. How great that all your appointments are going to be over soon. I know it's a LOT to get done in a short span of time, but then Done for the year! Good idea to plan tomorrow to decide on the next car. You will feel better once that decision is made too, I PROMISE {{{hugs}}} Good to get those forms filled out at home, before going in to file them!
Today we will get the closet and cubbies cleaned out so we can finish flooring tomorrow. Since we have to be here when Glenn comes to look at the kitchen anyway. So after getting the rest of the room ready for flooring, I think we will head to Wal-Mart. I need a few more things for pies this week, and I am anxious to just make sure I have everything I need - ready - for Thursday!
I started laundry for vacation, will also have to make time for ironing, before packing.
So like I said BACK TO BASICS today... for some reason I didn't track the whole weekend... didn't drink my water...drank alcohol...and basically feel like crap today!
Hope everyone has a great day
♥hugs♥

Morning all
I went out to my car on Saturday and my car battery was dead, so Kerry looked at it and it had some corrosive looking stuff on it. I ended up taking his pickup to my WW meeting and just drove it all day long. He charged my battery back up and it started right up.
Yes I did help my Mom and Dad on Saturday I just took the pickup, my mom didn’t go she wasn’t feeling real well so I went by myself. Then I came back and they got haircuts and I went home. Made a nice baked fish dinner and muscle’s. I just baked the halibut and salmon with some butter, Lemon and dill and it was yummy and healthy.
Yesterday I made home made chicken and dumplings, I even cooked the chicken with vegis and water and made my own broth, oh my heavens my house smelled so good all day. It was fairly simple too.

Gabrielle sounds like the wedding went well even though it was raining, I’m surprised the venue didn’t have better tents around it. I’m so glad you got the car sold and you got a better flight home. I have a dermatology appt today as well, my yearly skin check they do and I need more medicine for my skin. I also go to the Drs for a medicine check I. A couple weeks. It’s that time of year.
Karen we miss you too. Did Isaac get married?
Christine oh that’s to bad about Ben’s mom backing out just months before the wedding. Did she say why she can’t make the cake? I hope you had a safe trip to Fulton Co. can Ben’s dad help contribute anything? That would be to much for Carley to have 3 jobs right before her wedding. Poor girl.
Carole oh I’m happy you’re getting good sleep again. You get better scores than I do. Glad the girls got along good for you this weekend. Kerry and I got that icky bug this last weekend, it wasn’t to bad on us but we had something upsetting our tummy’s. Only one more week till Az, I bet you’re getting excited.
I’m hello to our Jo, I hope you all have a great day

Hey, Jenny!
Isaac is not yet married. Date is 4/20. He doesn't work at my school anymore - he is now working as a diesel mechanic for Republic Services (Trash Company) and he's loving every minute of it. I DO miss seeing him every day.

Evening all....I did get to the pool and did a pretty good work out...I started to feel a little twinge so figured that was my clue to call it a day....walked a little more in the pool then got out, hit the whirlpool and got my shower. The house is quiet, I'm guessing Sarah took the boys to the lake, her lunchbox is here so I know she came home and went out again, if she doesn't take the boys, she usually goes there right from work when it's just her...I think they are here tonight because Colton has an away baseball game but not sure....not sure where Jason is either so taking advantage of the quiet time.
So back to the weekend to catch up....
Carole...thanks for starting us off on Saturday....bummer you woke to more snow...I thought it looked like you would be getting some when I watched the weather....thankfully we only got rain out of this storm...our temps were in the 40's so it was rain....glad it was or we would have been buried in feet of snow!! We got over 2 inches of rain....Hopefully by now you are warming up some...it was 60 degrees here today and nice sunshine with little to no air moving!! The winds on Saturday and Sunday were crazy!! Well, despite the few struggles with the CPAP it sounds like you are figuring it out and it will soon just be routine....hang in there!!
LOL Carole...I'm usually more sore the 2nd day after using muscle I haven't used in a while....hope that it subsides soon. I would have thought putting down flooring from a standing position would make your back hurt??? Nope, can't stress over the OZ weather yet....to far away for that! Glad there wasn't too much cutting for the floor tile....yes, the cubbies and the closet will be the worst. Hope both Kathy and Zoe are on the mend and feeling back to normal again!
Jenny...I have been enjoying the "memories" of our TX trip too!! Today I had some from Oak Island too........can't wait to plan another one....this year was NOT a good one with weddings, retirements, etc...but I'm ready to get away again and enjoy the fun and laughter!! YAY for some Audrey time while she is on Spring Break!! Your office sounds like a bad episode of "Peyton Place"...the drama has to be so draining.....just keep your head down, mouth shut and hopefully it will blow over soon.
Thanks for the rib timing....I made them yesterday and the boys gave me two thumbs up.....they were good sized wings so it took about 50 minutes....we have some that like them all sauced and others that like to dip the plain wings so I did them both ways....we have some leftover that the boys will enjoy this week and I might take some for lunch...it's a bit messy for lunch time but still might bring some....

Christine...thanks for starting us off on Sunday....we weren't much warmer than you on Sunday but at least we were warm enough for rain this weekend....the winds were the worst. Yes, snow this time of year for us is not biggie....it's gone as fast as it comes with the sunshine! Amazing how much melting happens when it's only 40 degrees. LOL, yes, with the time change you don't have to stress as much about getting on the road to Fulton. Glad the student load for this week is manageable and you should be out and on the way home by the time the school day ends...should get you home tomorrow at a decent hour!!
Oh....speaking of taxes...we already got our refund....I filed on the 10th and when I checked the accounts over the weekend we already had our Federal refund on March 15th.....Gloria said she got hers in less than a week too! Still waiting on the State refund but it's only been 2 weeks since I filed so not surprised.
Glad wedding plans continue to get tackled and things are getting crossed off the to do list. I'm with you, I think the soft pink would be a nice calming light...really is crazy how many little details need to be tackled. OH NO....I can only imagine how Ben feels at this point with his mother backing out of doing their cake. Hope you can find a replacement soon that will fit the budget.....I think I would be really pi$$ed at this point with Ben's mom. Seems like the kids are doing what they have to do with the extra jobs to help offset the expenses, makes me sad for Ben that his family is just not doing anything to help out.
LOL Christine...yes, I think it's a rooster too but hey, it's OK to call it a chicken. We were actually having this same discussion as we painted....roosters tend to have the bigger tail feathers and are more colorful than the chickens....we didn't dare. Will say, every time I glance at it when I walk through the kitchen I smile...I was so nervous to do it and it turned out really well!!
Christine...Jason and I were just talking about "only one more winter" of having to deal with weather....I'm jealous of Carole, not needing to worry about commuting to work anymore.....our day is coming! Will say, the last couple winters haven't been too bad here on my corner of the state...only a few "big snows" that caused commute issues for either of us....hoping for one more just like that next winter!! WOW....I feel so bad for you friend retiring and HR and NP dropping the ball and being so aloof about the whole thing....yes, DL retire so they HAVE handled it before!!
Christine/Jenny....all this chatter about patio tables makes me realize I need to get a table w/umbrella for the back patio.....it will need an umbrella because the sun sets on that side of the house and will need the shade. Had thought about the awning type coverings attached to the house that is motorized but the price is pretty steep....we'll see??? Not sure it is something we need and not just something I want....
Carole....I was checking the temps for TX in a couple weeks and it's looking like upper 70's, low 80's!! I can deal with that....will be capri's and shorts for sure!! No, the canvas was not black, you can buy them but they are very expensive according to Lacey so she paints them all so they are dry the day we paint....sometimes she gets her girls and Wes to help her if she has a lot to do...we were the 4th class of this painting and she has 2 more to do in the next couple week....with "sold out" paint nights, that means she has painted a lot of canvases black in the last few weeks! LOL! The background can take a while to dry....if it's a light color we paint them the day of the painting but when it's a black background, Lacey always does them ahead of time so they are totally dry....black bleed big time!!
Well Carole...just think of the "jump start" you have on the pellets for next year and I'm sure the price will be higher next year so it will be a nice savings for you!! Glad Zoe is back to her healthy self...yes, I'm sure a good night's sleep did help!! YAY for a calm day with the girls, no arguments or fighting!! Always nice!! WOW Carole...retirees are invited to Jason's annual Christmas party....that's the only big even they Terminal has and retirees are always invited and recognized if they retired during the year!! That's kind of sad for you....yes, it's just a plaque but it's the principle!!
Gabrielle...glad you got enough notice to be able to change your flights to get out early and save $40....always a bonus when you can save a little $$. YAY for the car being sold!! Now it's time to get to the dealerships and drive your final choices again and choose your "new ride"!! Glad the dealerships are all close to each other so you're not going to be driving all over the place tomorrow!! It's like that here too!! You can pretty much hit every make/model in a 1/4 mile stretch just outside town! WOW Gabrielle....I'm kind of surprised the venue was not more prepared for the weather...I know this is NOT the first wedding that got rained on.....sounds like despite the weather, you niece had a wonderful day.....sometimes even the short trips are a nice thing....time with family and friends! Sure hope you can find the balance of getting your work done and answer questions and guiding your replacement....glad the two of your are being proactive and getting together to "have a plan"....hopefully that will put your Deputy Supt at ease. Please set boundaries and stick to them....they should not expect you to work extra hours just to train her....you already work long days!!
LOL Gabrielle....between SS and Medicare we get so damn much mail in the course of the year...it's crazy!!! Heck Jason is 70 and every year we could wallpaper our entire house with all the mail we get for Medicare Open Enrollment...it's crazy!!
Gabrielle...when I was in HS I had to do a report for an English class on superstitions...I chose to do Wedding Traditions and Superstitions.....that's when I learned that rains on your wedding day was good luck. Honestly, not sure what the actual logic is anymore, that was almost 50 years ago but when it poured buckets on our wedding day I told Jason "no worries, it's good luck"! Yes, the last 42 years have not but all "popsicles and sunshine" but definitely if you put the good in one hand and the bad in the other....the good hand is overflowing!!!
Gabrielle...where do you find those cedar and cherrywood "skins"....I have actually bought fish on cedar planks that are yummy...funny that the wood really gives it a nice flavor!! I'd love to try them.
We were about 38 degrees this morning too Gabrielle but it warmed up quickly and the bright sunshine was great!! Oh, that's right, your annual check up is coming soon....fingers crossed all the labs come back within normal limits....WNL in nursing notes! LOL!! Hope you get the "two thumbs up" from the dermatologist this year like I did!! Ah....so your replacement will NOT be taking all of your job....you have a couple others taking part of your job! Funny how that happens a lot of times!
David and Katie will stay here this weekend....we have an aerobed and they will sleep on that! Since the boys are with Josh this weekend for most of the time Sarah could sleep in Kellen's room on the full size bed and K/D could have the queen in her room but they said no...they will sleep on the aerobed and not take over anyone's space. We have plenty of room and we all know with house guests aerobed use is common. I'm excited for their visit....first thing David and I will do is decide on a menu for the couple day.....I had planned on big breakfast on Sunday and we lucked out with the store having the sausage on sale this week....David loves the store made sausage that we always had for Christmas morning so we have to do what he calls "sloppy breakfast" where you fill your plate with pancakes, waffles, or French toast plus the sausage and smother it all with real Maple syrup! LOL!!
Oh...David actually comes UP to visit....NC is south!! I know it's really not up or down but north or south but hey, I always say we head "down" to David's and "up" to Auburn!! Guess it's because when you look at a map on the wall it seems like up or down! LOL!!
OK....starting to fade...not quite caught up but my eyelids are doing the "long blink" thing....time to call it a day! Sweet dreams all....waves to all I missed!!
