Day 28 – Get Ready to Weigh In
Tomorrow weigh yourself and make it on your chart if you are keeping one. Beck suggests not doing anything today to monkey with the results tomorrow. She also reminds us that if we lost a lot that doesn’t mean we will keep losing at this pace, if we lose too little remind ourselves the we are losing weight so the plan is working and we should celebrate any weight loss, if you don’t lose or gain weight remember there are other reasons your weight might be up, if after another week it doesn’t fall call your coach, also look back over your behavior this week and see if it needs some tweaks.
Do you weigh daily, weekly, monthly? What time of day do you weigh yourself? How do you handle your scale number? How do you track your weight?

I weigh daily first thing in the morning and then once a week in the evening. The evening weigh in is my official WW weight because my meetings were always in the evening. I react to my scale number, get excited if I lose, get a little upset if I gain or didn't have a loss that I was wanting. If I'm in range, I feel okay. I track the once-a-week evening weigh in the WW app and the daily morning weigh in on a calendar by my computer.

I weigh first thing every morning...rain or shine, cold or hot, no matter what.

Until recently I was weighing daily and recording it weekly. Just last week I decided to try going back to weighing weekly and recording weekly, as I did for so many years when I was losing weight on WW. I sometimes need to change things up, and also I'm going to practice focusing my mental energy on just staying on my plan. I know that the scale number will follow if I do, even if it takes more than a week to show up.
I record my weight weekly in a handwritten notebook that I keep of my exercise and my weekly weight. I've had a series of notebooks like this for many many years - I started this before I used any electronic tracking websites or apps. I also record my weight electronically on a few different apps that I've used at various times for food tracking, and I track on the Happy Scale app to get a broader view of my weight loss and maintenance progress. And I record it here weekly in my signature as a reminder to myself of where I'm at.

I'm going to try and weigh in each week and see how it goes with my mood and fixation on the numbers.

I was weighing sporadically. But now I'm doing it every morning, first thing.
I wasn't really tracking it anywhere either. Now I'm listing it here and I put it in my bullet journal/daily planner today.
