Thank you for your prayers and kind words. Here is the update I sent to friends and family:
Nick had a grand mal seizure Wednesday evening, his first of that kind. He was sedated and admitted to observation. His short EEG yesterday showed something, though we don't know what. He had an anxiety attack so the neurologist added a second seizure medication. He was moved to a regular room and is now having a 24 EEG. Despite the extreme amount of medication in his system, he had a very small seizure (from stress) when the neurologist was examining him. He was concerned and there was a possibility of a transfer to the main UH campus. He's being monitored via video and was able to stay at Ahuja. Dave stayed here for the night and said he had a good night. I'm here now and he is chomping at the bit to be released. He's definitely back to his old self. He's watching videos obviously instagram and trying to stay occupied. His appetite has finally returned and he's much more awake than he was yesterday.

Good morning.
Jan: I'm just catching up on the situation with Nick. I'm so sorry, for him and for all of you. Seizures are so hard, and I guess the medical community still struggles to understand and treat them. I'm praying peace and healing for Nick. Glad to hear he is back to his old self. I hope you get some helpful news from the longer EEG. We're with you in prayers and love.

C134D14 - last food 10:50 PM last night and started today at 11:00 AM. 72 oz water. Today is whole foods and my planned calorie count is 1199. I can't imagine I'll mess up since it allows lots of food. I guess whole foods add up slower than processed foods. Looking forward to three pajama days - clubhouse closed today and Easter doesn't affect me. Lots to do - end of month finances, Pine Cone articles to edit, long to do list to catch up on, reading a good book, many movies always on my DVR, and there's always the puzzle and the piano.
Jan - Is UH Houston? It's good that Nick's appetite has returned and that he's more of his old self. I'm worried about the driving. I guess they haven't gotten to that issue yet. I don't know anyone that's had seizures but it sounds scary as heck. I don't know how you keep your cool. Maybe because you have to no choice. He needs you to have it together. Please keep us updated. We're all concerned for you and for Nick.
