Good morning all. Happy Easter. Hope you all have a wonderful day. We had a bit of a pink sunrise this morning but it is clouded over already. Also no off to a great start
Missed my steps for 7 o'clock working on my journal, goals and thinking about the new month. I will just get some extra steps in later. Already have the laundry going downstairs, have breakfast laid out. Need a higher protein day and keep up with the lower sugar. I did really well all day yesterday and then had some LO tart in the evening with a little ice cream. I know it wasn't even 1/3 cup, just the scrapings in the bottom of the carton that DH had left
I'm finding it's kind of tough to got over 20% protein each day, maybe I'm getting enough in grams or whatever, but total overall eating is mostly still in the carb category. Going to keep at it this next challenge. Happy with the loss for the challenge too, just keep moving forward. With the gray and gloomy yesterday we did not go get the van. I ran my errands and snooped the market. BOught a nice loaf of sourdough bread, a bunch of dried lavender that smells awesome and some potatoes. Then got our steaks from the butcher and we're set for today. I will make a berry crumble today with blueberries, strawberries and blackberries that I have. If nothing else, to keep DH from going to the store and spending money on more desserts! At least if I make them I know what's actually in them. I did like GG and wrote down on the calendar that Monday and Wednesday this week will be no sugar days. Then I can just plan for it and say not doing that today. Tomorrow starts DH Medicare program and this week sometime we will check in to his Advantage and get the healthy number or whatever so he can go sign up at the Y. I guess there are some perks to getting "old" No other big plans for the day. Started a new book, finishing up a sock monkey knit ornament head, seems kind of big for an ornament. Have also written down 3 things I need to do today, I seriously just keep putting things off. Yesterday I got as far as taking the vacuum out of the closet and then it sat there all day. Today I will plug it in!! ha ha, really I will run it and then mop up the bathroom floor and the entryway by the back door. They are so bad from having snow and melt, then DH taking the garbage and recycle in and out, even with the mats. Long enough ramble for now. Sure there will be some BB on, I know DS is working today so may not talk to him but he did send a text. Have a blessed day all. Jan
Murphy Enjoy your day, church, family time and puttering. Yay for new flowers. I need some spring ones for out front in my bucket. I have winter and then sunflowers/summer looking but some tulips or forsythia fakes would be nice. Thanks for the start this morning.
Liz So good to see you, sorry you have been so sick. Hope the Dr can get you something and you get back on your feet. Glad it's just the 3 of you today so you don't have to be the hostess. Take care of yourself. We are all going to rock this next challenge!!
GG Sounds like a great week. You are always busy, glad you can sing today, I know how that lifts up your spirits. I'm going out to cut some of my daffodils today, they are at the point I know they will open in a few days and will brighten up the kitchen. I need to check into more zoom meetings, it just doesn't feel the same to me tho. Also I'm not happy that now most of the WW site will just be on the app. I like logging on my computer and not using the little phone screen. They seem to just keep wanting to turn people off the program, forgetting who a lot of their audience is. Yay for setting a new start date and having a new mind set.
Cindy Sorry about the wind and messy day. Glad DS could use the time to paint in the bathroom. Hope it's a one coat deal. I have clear the clutter on my list. Starting with my end table full of craft things, and a chair I have full of "stuff" to go back to the cabin. Need to get a big tub to put it in.
Cathy Enjoy your day. Is your weather getting warmer? Has DH been planting anything yet?
Carole Glad you are home and good to see kids and pups. I've seen where a lot of people are leaving Florida, all kinds of reasons I guess. You guys will figure it out. Do you have to go back to work tomorrow? What are you all doing today?
Amy Glad Cory will be back for dinner. I looked at turkey but figured for the 2 of us we'd splurge on nice steaks. Are you making deviled eggs or something with your colored eggs? So fun that you still do that together. We were laughing about ham salad the other day, DH couldn't believe my mom made it, he's never had it. Told him one of the ladies at knitting was making ham balls for easter with her husband. Ground ham mixed with some hamburger, bread crumbs etc and then made into meatballs. Hmm, not sure what I think of that, but both are so midwestern meals. Love your beach Easter picture. When you said you were trying to get more protein, are you just eating more of it or tracking it some way other than WW. The App has gotten more frustrating, at this point I'd rather they just get rid of the BLDinner catagories and just track for the whole day instead of trying to switch around all the time. Yay for seeing your first hummingbird. I saw the poppa cardinal 2ce yesterday and that made me happy.
Guess I better get moving, it's now after nine and I'm becoming glued to the couch.
Check in later.
