It is April Fool's Day and perhaps time to stop fooling myself...or to make some changes. I started out thinking I would focus on menus and food and meal planning because it is important, they say, but then found articles on change and decided that to change my meal planning, weight, etc...thinking about and implementing ideas and rules created by masters might be a good idea.
So...
Below you will find Ideas on how to create effective change or perhaps challenge yourself. I thought about giving one per day BUT then decided that I would put all three ideas up in case for some reason my internet disappears again.
You can choose to implement none, one, or all three of these ideas and we will check in daily with how we are doing with personal challenge.
The first section is about commitment to consistent repetitive action that will create change.
The second section is about the five second rule and counting backward from five then getting up and DOING...
The third section is about decreasing consumption and helping the environment through cutting back on buying fashion/wardrobe items - this could be applied to other areas of the house, too, I am guessing.
After looking through the information below:
1. Comment on any of the ideas?
2. Anything you might try?
3. FUN: What was the last clothing purchase you made?
RULES OF FIVE brought up an interesting array of ideas
WORDS INTO WORKS:
“If you would go every day to a very large tree and take five swings at it with a very sharp axe, eventually, no matter how large the tree, it would have to come down.” ~ Ron Scolastico
With that advice, Canfield and Hansen created what they called “The Rule of Five”: A commitment to taking five daily actions that would quickly move their goal towards completion.
1. What is your goal?
2. What five things can you do daily that will further that goal?
How to Turn Your Dreams into Reality with This Simple Rule
The key is to start small with consistency.
Commit to taking small consistent actions every day, and eventually, you will make big progress in achieving what you want in your life.
So, identify all the necessary action steps you can take each day and list them down.
And then commit to executing just 5 of them every day.
That’s how success is created.
"Not so long ago, I learned a simple "trick". It's so simple that you might wonder how it could anything so simple possibly work. But it does, ever time. I guess you could call it a brain hack. How had I not come across this before?
Whenever I hesitate to do anything, whenever I have an instinct that I should do something, I simply count backwards from Five:- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and take action. Simple!"
1. Trigger to take action
2. Distracts from anxiety
3. Breaks negative cycles

Shoes and accessories (they are part of your ‘five’)
What Is the Five Outfit Rule?
Per Barber, the five outfit rule goes like this: If you’re going to buy something, it has to go with five things you already own. If it doesn’t, you need to leave it behind. (This one has photos of ways she puts her clothing/outfits together using this rule and how she has pared down her wardrobe.
