There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. And one of us is never going to buy a fat quarter bundle again! We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Oh My. No one has posted today after the intro. I hope you all had a good day to start a good week
Ginny, I hope you had a nice Easter with your family and hope the kitty being babysat did well
CJ, I hope you were able to work on those blocks.
We went out this morning to do some errands. I got up early after having only about 5 hours sleep. We went to Walmart hoping to get some reduced price Easter candy but their selection was extremely limited. I guess a lot of people got there much earlier than we did. My dh had put a ham in our cart and a woman came up to him and told him that she was a former employee and knew the meat manage who told her that the ham we were buying was going to be 50 cents/lb in 2 hours. Well when we got to the meat department the manager was there, saw we had a ham and told dh the were now 50 cents/lb. So we bought three hams all together. Then we came home.put everything away and I cleaned the kitchen while waiting to see what was going to happen with our missing packages. Finally dh got a message that a package that was scheduled for delivery for today was delivered. I went down there and the new package and all of the missing ones were in the parcel locker. That was a relief for sure.
Now I've been sitting and crocheting this challenging afghan and finally have it to where it's supposed to be in terms of location and number of stitches so we'll see how it goes from here. Dinner was ham and pork and beans. The ham is spiral cut so was easy to get a few slices off to cook instead of having to bake the whole ham
We'll have to go out another day this week for dh to have blood drawn. He had planned to go today but with the missing package fiasco he wasn't able to fast and still take care of finding packages today. This blood draw is not related to his surgery. It's to check to see if his medications have affected his liver or kidneys and find out how others are now after have been abnormal last time.He probably will have to have more tests before the surgery itself.

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well Looks like we might get some bad weather tonight and tomorrow, but you never know where the storms are going to go. Ruth - I'm glad you and your DH got a good deal on those hams and that all your packages have now been delivered I hope your DH's blood test goes well. Ginny - Hope you were able to relax some yesterday. isillyme - Hope you are well. I haven't done any quilting since Sunday, I'm back to not being in the mood again I did buy a few patterns yesterday, so maybe that will motivate me to do something. I went up to my house today to check things out and they were fine. Then I stopped by the grocery store on the way back and now I hope to stay in until later in the week. I don't like to drive in the rain if I don't have to. Take care

It actually snowed here yesterday. We woke to snow on the ground and it snowed lightly all day but it melted as is was snowing so after the initial brushing off the car the snow was gone.
CJ I hope you don't get too much rain. I'm with you on the avoiding of driving in it. It doesn't rain here often luckily.I have a hard time seeing in the rain.I'm sorry you don't feel up to actual sewing or cutting fabrics but, hey, buying patterns is crafting in itself.
I worked on the afghan last evening and will do that again later. Right now I have a bit of cleaning to do.
Ginny, I hope you're having a good day. I missed you both yesterday.
I guess we've lost our new member and, of course, we'd be happy to see her again

Happy Tuesday! Sorry, I thought I got here after I started us off. Guess I did not!! Ruth, congrats on the great price on the ham and many thanks to those employees who tipped your hat to the sale price! Yes those spiral cut hams are so much easier to deal with. So really glad to learn that the missing packages indeed showed up. Recently I have seen packages being delayed a day as it gets close to delivery day…so I am not surprised by what happened to you. Sometimes the tracking software just does not keep up with reality and does not update until midnight. Gee, you got snow??? Glad it melted….when is the date you want that afghan completed by? CJ- right now getting all your real estate transactions are taking up so much time and energy from you. Keep on checking out the blogs and boards…it just sort of keeps your head in the game…and when things calm down for you, you will most likely feel like getting some quilting time in. What did you buy patterns for?? Easter was nutty but nice…everyone was here. But that set me up for a morning of cleaning, which is what happened to me yesterday. I had bible study and rehearsal in the afternoon, so it was a busy afternoon. I did get to work on the quilt a bit and it does look as though I will be doing my last bobbin of stippling . When I wound more bobbins yesterday I took the quilt off the machine, and saw that I do not have that much left to quilt on that piece. Maybe this weekend I will be working on the binding. Long day of babysitting 3 little ones today, but they were good for me. Glad to be home however. And yes we have rain today, rain tomorrow and snow? ?? Thursday. Crazy weather! Wonder how Sillyme is doing?

Good Morning!! Well they wanted me to go into work this am, and I sweetly informed them that I could not, that I needed the rest. I did go to bed a bit early last night and slept pretty well. Looks like another day of rain here.. I will get some errands done this am and then spend some time with the Husky, hopefully finishing the quilting.
Ruth, CJ and Sillyme, hope you are doing well and slept well!
CJ- and it’s ok if you do not want to answer, do you have any time table on the transfer of the house to the real estate company? I am wondering when your life might return to normal

Hello It's raining here today, some of it pretty heavy. I'm hoping we don't get the strong thunderstorms later. Ruth - I'm glad the snow melted quickly, hope your weather will start getting warmer. Ginny - I'm glad you are getting a day of rest after babysitting, I can imagine the grandchildren keep you going I just bought a few digital PDF quilt patterns. I mostly buy them to use my credit cards and keep them active. But maybe I'll make one of them. No news on the house sale at all. I'm still waiting for the surveys to be done, have heard nothing back from the lawyer, and so I can't really talk with the house company until some of those things are resolved. It's just a lot of waiting probably for nothing I did start working on a new quilt today using a jelly roll I've had for awhile. This is the pattern and the fabric I'm using: www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-twist-quiltwww.fatquartershop.com/marias-sky-mini-charm-packThis should be pretty quick to make. I already have all the background fabric squares cut and the jelly roll strips matched, I just need to sew the strips and cut them into pieces to make the blocks. Take care

Hello Ginny and CJ and to Sillyme. Ginny, I'm glad you told them you weren't working today. You need some rest. In answer to your question, dd's birthday is 4/17. I may not see her then so will have extra time to finish the afghan.
CJ, that is a very interesting quilt. I really like it
Well here we've had cold days and today, tomorrow and Friday it will be 70 then Saturday back to cold and snow again for 3 days then will warm just a little. I keep thinking of that blizzard they had last year right at this time after we had left for Indiana. Weather everywhere is strange now but here it's always strange to me here in spring with one day springlike then back to winter. We call these days our fake spring #1 and wait for #2 and 3 to appear.
I've been doing some cleaning and organziing. Dh was wondering where two pairs of shoes were that he bought at least a couple years ago and never wore so I looked through the one closet where we put our shoes and found one pair so since I had taken everything out I cleaned that area. Then I cleaned and rearranged under the kitchen sink. Now for rest and crochet.

Ruth, congrats on finding the pair of shoes!!! (Wonder where the other pair went…..and I am sure they will show up!!) glad you got that somewhat thankless job of cleaning out under the kitchen sink done. That is such a satisfying cabinet to open and see everything exactly where it should be… but also such an easy cabinet to become disheveled. Congrats on getting that done. Hope you got some good crochet time in…
CJ- yes that is an interesting pattern for the quilt! The pattern reminds me in some ways of a split rail…and I really like the jelly roll fabrics-I do like jewel toned fabrics a lot. it should be a pretty quilt for sure! Lets hope that all the waiting is not for nothing and that this deal can proceed with both the land and the house in one transaction.
Rain today. And some snow tomorrow morning!! I did work this afternoon - and will go back in tomorrow am….but have to watch little ones in the afternoon. I will stop in to say hello but it might be a super short hello.
I did finish all the random stipple on the baby quilt! (Which is actually a medium sized quilt…). So nice to be able to put away all the special sewing feet and raise the feed dogs. I figure I will not be able to cut the binding until Friday or Saturday…but look forward to actually completing that quilt!

Ginny, well I'm sure they were happy to have you work in the afternoon. and I'm glad to hear you have all the stippling done and an move on the border, etc.
Oh besides the cleaning I helped dh install grab rail in the bathroom. His doctor recommended that we have some so we bought two and the one installed is in the bathroom that dh uses most and will use after surgery but I'm sure we'll get the one in the other bathroom installed soon. The e pair of "lost" shoes was in the bedroom closet where I told dh they probably were but he insisted they weren't in there. Now he has two brand new pairs which we put elastic laces in so he wouldn't have to bend to get his shoes on. Well they don't work as we thought so we'll have to do some adjusting.
I also made a pot of split pea soup. I mentioned other choices for making soup with ham but this is dh's preferred soup and I like it also so we're happy.
I did get in some crocheting and I think the afghan will be done in 3 days and I can put on the border. How I want to start a hat to take with me tomorrow for working on while waiting for dh's blood to be drawn
Have a good night everyone.

Good morning!
Light snow here- so schools are on a delayed opening.I am making a pot of chili ,so the rest of my day should be easier.
Ruth, the split pea soup sounds good! It’s a great idea to have grab bars in the bathrooms! Depending upon how Dh bathes, perhaps a shower chair might also help. Congrats on locating the other pair of “lost” shoes. Great progress on the afghan it will be done very close to DD’s birthday.
Today could be nuts…I am babysitting later on.
Have a great day!

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today We might get some rain again this afternoon, but it was sunny this morning. Ginny - Hope you enjoy your chili and that the babysitting isn't too nuts Ruth - I'm glad you can use the ham in some soup. Those rails are great to have in the bathroom. I'm happy to have them in this rental house. I haven't gotten back to the quilt, but maybe I'll be able to sew some strips together later. I was cleaning the house this morning. There are a lot of windows with blinds in this house and I want to keep the blinds dusted well since I know how "gunky" the blinds can get if you let them go (learned that lesson at my house ). I like to watch The Amazing Race, and it's on right now, so I was watching it last night. They had a shot of a dog riding up an escalator that was so cute and funny. The dog was just sitting quietly riding up to the top Take care and have a good day

Good evening everyone. I hope you all had a good day.
Ginny, I hope you don't get much snow. The weather is crazy. It got up to close to 74 here today. I hope you'll be able to work on the quilt in the next few days.I'll be praying for safe travels for your ds.
CJ, with all you have on your mind it has to be hard to concentrate on quilting. I know people say that hobbies like quilting, knitting, crocheting, etc are relaxing but when you have big things like selling a home and having problems crop up it's hard to not have them interfere with the rest of your life.
Dh and I did go out today. He had his blood drawn and there was such a short wait that I didn't get to work on my crocheting of the hat for more than maybe two minutes. We also had to make a stop at the post office and then decided to go to the grocery store on that side of town. Dh wanted to buy cabbage but we didn't even end up getting cabbage after all. We did get a few things and I was thankful to get back home. it seemed like all 59,000 people that live in this town were all out today.
Now just a second ago a strange thing happened. The man who previously owned the Honda truck I bought in 2019 that the dealer scammed me on just stopped over here and asked me if I wanted to sell the truck back to him. I don't. Even though it's quite old it serves me well now since I had the problem with it all fixed

Ruth, was that truck the vehicle that had electrical issues because he did some re wiring ?? I vaguely remember something like that…. I do remember it was necessary to have some work done on it and you and Dh had those issues corrected. Glad to hear that Dh has his bloodwork done and that it was done so quickly! Kind of sad that you were all geared up for a few minutes of peaceful crocheting, but really nice that to be out of there so very quickly. Guess it was a busy Friday to shop in your area…probably because of the warmer temperatures.
CJ- were you able to feel the earthquake today?? Not sure how far away it was felt…. Glad you have found a good television show to view! Sounds cute…. And speaking of blinds…I sort of went blind free (of any kind) and use light blocking curtains- which I find much easier to throw in the washing machine. Guess you could call me lazy.
Babysitting was a bit intense last night. DD went back to her part time job this week so both little ones were off schedule. I got to see the bride (a friend of DD’s who has spent a lot of time here) and see some of the ceremony.

Ginny, the man thought that the people that installed his new music system caused the problem but it was a computer problem actually and the truck wouldn't start because the computer thought the passenger door was open. Apparently you have to have the doors closed to start the engine. I haven't had a problem since then but I don't drive it much however the 2 or 3 months that my grandson used it he had no problems either.
Yes it sounds like you had a very busy day and evening yesterday. I hope you can get some rest over the weekend and be able to do some things you enjoy. Did you get much snow? It got up to about 74 here yesterday but tomorrow brings cold days back
CJ, that does sound like a good show to watch.I don't think I've ever seen it.
I did some cleaning, or rather a little decluttering in the garage today and found dh's jigsaw he's been wondering about. I also was able to convince him to let me get rid of some things which he bought at a garage sale years and years ago and we've never used and also some other things that were just cluttering up the space. There's a lot more to be done out there.
I did work on the afghan yesterday and I think I got the 4 inches done so two more days of work should finish it so that I can make the border. I also made a hat in the evening. I saw it on YouTube and it looked nice so I went ahead and made one but mostly changed almost all of it to make it how I liked it.
