Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Waving to Joyce, Ruth and Martha. I hope everyone is having a good day.
We took my DS and DBIL to the airport around 3, they should be home by 8 (central time). It was a good visit. This morning we went to a nature trail that has alligators (saw 1 big and one about 18” long). Some good size turtles and birds. The whole walk is on a boardwalk, sometimes we see lots of things, not so much this time. I did 2 loads of laundry when we got home and of course still have more to do. I also got out our suitcases, we leave next Wednesday, but have a very busy schedule between now and when we leave. Will check in tomorrow. The UCONN men and women basketball teams are both in the final four, exciting time.

Good evening all. Watching hockey game. We have so few left this season. Sure hope they win some of these last ones. I really don’t think they’ll make the playoffs, but apparently they still have a very small chance.
Weird - last massage (2 weeks ago) I ended up with a migraine. Never happened before. Today after my massage I have a bad case of tinnitus. I’ve not had much, if any, of it before. Was really loud for quite a while; then was just gone for about 10 min; now back some. Hoping it doesn’t keep me awake tonight.
Dottie, we haven't seen any attorney yet. We saw their Client Relations Manager who explains the differences between “estate” planning and “elder law” for protecting assets. How one feeds into the other and how they are different and all. We have to provide about 18-20 pieces of information (copies of deeds, mortgage, SS, pensions, other income, etc.) and then there’s a 25 or so page form that you have to answer a TON of questions. From names, how long married, married before, pre-nups?, to your children’s names, ages, addresses. Then you do an asset vs bills form; you name executor for estate; for your POA’s; you need to decide who decides if you can be given meds or decide other health related things; and your wishes for after death (cremation or burial) if you want a funeral or whatever. And you have to decide what material things you want each person to have. We’re going to give some of those things to our children & grands in the next year or so rather than waiting for after we’re gone. Jewelry I don’t wear for example. And then write down for my jewelry that I do wear. And Stan’s radio stuff and then list what we want done with our household items (Bridging). We don’t want the kids to try to sell stuff or figure out what to do with it. Our next meeting, which will be with one or more of the lawyers, will be 4 hrs long. And then once we talk through and decide everything and they rework it all; we’ll have a 2 hr meeting. And then a meeting to sign all the paperwork. They said that’s worse than signing a mortgage and we all know how much paperwork that is. And then they check in with you at 3, 6, 12 mo. Part of the original fee the way I understood it. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going.
Yes, I’m looking forward to seeing my friend tomorrow. We enjoyed them at dinner on Saturday. I’m going to try to see a WW friend later in the month. She was in the program and I met her after she’d lost about 100 lbs; and then she became a leader and I went to her for quite a while. Her DH had Parkinson’s and eventually passed away. She said they told him exercise was so important, but she said if she didn’t do some of it with him, he wouldn’t do it. I think that is pretty typical actually. More rare is like Stan getting started a week after his diagnosis. And being very proactive. If if wasn’t for his sleep issues, he would be a happy camper, all things concerned.
Dottie, sounds like you had a great visit. Can you believe you are going home already in a week?! Winter has gone by quickly really. A mild one here overall.
Joy, glad you had a good Easter. Waving to Martha. Sometimes I think we could all benefit from spending less time on our electronic devices.
will try to get on tomorrow. I did have a sale this morning. The twin comforters and sheets I had taken off the bunk beds last week; washed up; and listed. Gal asked if they were available; told her yes; and she came and picked them up a couple hours later. Big black garbage bag gone!
more tomorrow!
