This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph.
Carole: 1.) Greatly decrease alcohol 2.) Track daily, being mindful of my macros 3.) Make movement a daily habit 4.) Be thankful each and every day ♥ 5.) Organize the house and photos
Karen: 1) Count my blessings each day in my planner 2.) Track my food daily on the Noom app 3.) Continue to conquer the areas of my home that need special love 4.) Intentionally Move More

This is a time to get organized to reduce stress and frustrations... 3.) Drink more water....even if it's hard...make it a priority...a continued "work in progress" for me!! 4.) Get to the pool....it makes me feel good, it's my happy place...no excuse!! Shoot for 3 days a week to start!! 5.) Be kind to ME!! Remember you can't be all things to everyone especially if you don't take care of you first!!

Good morning! Up and at'em early this morning. Woke up at 5am but I went to bed at 930. I took a Tylenol before before and slept pain free. Yay! Slept 6:06 . I am wide awake right now. Rosie is taking 1/2 my pillow. Yes I'm writing this in bed. We extendEd our stay in Mars Hill to come home Saturday. I looked at the weather over there and next week there is s 60% chance of rain every day we are there but highs in your 60s. I booked a walking ghost tour of Ashville Thursday night I hope it doesn't rain on us. I need to remember to take my umbrella. There are hiking trails all over the farm that I wanted to check out but not on the rain.
Our CEO is coming in town on 4/17 andwe are meeting up for breakfast. It's down town. I will have to pay for parking wick stinks but itcwill bed his to see everyone again. And get a free breakfast.

Good morning,
Thanks for getting us going Jo...from the comfort of your bed, LOL. With so much going on lately, thinking first is a good idea and I appreciate the reminder. Yesterday I was supposed to have a half day off but worked until 3:00 and then took a call at 4:30 (on my cell) so....I guess I will try to leave early another day. It is really going to be hard to use up my non-duty days I think. I did get a consult with my gastroenterologist on 4/23 in the afternoon. I really like him and am glad that I could get in. I am sure that we will still do the colonoscopy but I will have the chance to go over by lab results with him and hear his thoughts about it all. Looking at it over 10 years, both my hemoglobin and hematocrit have been slowly declining over the years. And now they are just below normal (one of them is actually still "low normal" based on certain standards) so it will be interesting to hear his thoughts and I guess that I can think of this as pro-active? I don't know, just wish that I could have had a normal check up. DH runs his 50-miler on Saturday and I will be crewing so that will take the whole day. Sunday will be the day to get a few things done. At least it won't be raining on Saturday, yay!
Jo: It sounds like it worked out well to extend your trip! So glad that it did. I am wondering if you have some kind of waterproof poncho with a hood or something you can just wear over your other clothes and a light coat? For a walking tour, that might be nice to stay dry too. An umbrella sounds like a good item to add to the list! It sounds like the tylenol did the trick---it is so odd that you are still hurting. I hope it resolves itself soon. Breakfast will be nice with the group---we remember that you enjoyed that before, sorry about the expense of parking though. Hope that today is a good day for you!
Carole: It sounds like your trip is going well. You are right, the desert can be surprisingly cold as soon as the sun goes down. In the summer though, it is SO hot there (over 100 degrees) that it warms everything up and stays in the low 80s over night. We are quite a ways from Big Bear--but it is so pretty there. It is like a resortish place for skiing, lake time, etc. for the folks in Southern CA. We like to go to Palm Springs though and could probably connect! Anytime you are in CA, I would want to try to find a way. I am so glad that you are having a good time and would imagine that you do find out the better rooms when you visit so that you know for next time. I look forward to hearing about what is on the schedule for today!
Sue: It sounds like things are going well for the week (except for so much rain!). I love hearing about the boys and Easter and am glad that Josh did the decent thing and let the boys come home. Good job getting to the pool. Do you want to do your workout before you go to your massage? I would with running but it might not really matter with swimming. Your Saturday sounds like a nice, self-care day---well, deserved! Thanks, yep a lot happened last week! I am glad to have the retirement things done. Now we have the court date on May 7th (fingers crossed), the anemia thing....uggh, just want to get some things done. Hoping that you have a good day, get checked in fine for your trip to TX (next week I think?)
Karen: Wow, it must feel great to have Isaac's room cleaned out! It would be worth it if it makes you feel calmer at home. I hope that you get your time on the water soon though.
Okay, time to get ready to go for an easy run. It will be good to be out in the fresh air and I think we will be between storms. Have a good day, ladies!

Good Morning ~ Slept in a bit today. Yesterday we didn't actually "do" much, but man I was tired when we got back! LOL Sitting in the SUN on a boat, is so darned relaxing... Not to mention, a little "too much" sun? Oh yeah, I am not a sunscreen user, but I will be going forward! LOL It will be fine - not a terrible sunburn, but a little pink. Today is supposed to be a day by the pool, but not sure about too much more sun today? Today or tonight we have to go out to dinner. We have to use the gift certificate from Tracy! While the thought was nice, it puts pressure on making sure we get there to use it!
One thing here, with all the driving we have done, coming in on Monday, out shopping, then to the marina yesterday... we have not seen one souvenir shop! WTH? LOL I might have to do my shopping at the airport tomorrow! Anyway... seeing pics from back home, I am so glad we are NOT there! Schools cancelled for today, and I saw the bank had delayed opening!
Karen: YAY for getting Isaac's room hauled out. It sure does feel good to get things like that done. Someday I hope to get Tracy's stuff OUT of our house! Oh how nice for Tony to be able to have an office, not in the basement.
Jo: Sorry you are still in pain. Maybe need to call the doctor? Fingers crossed you can extend your anniversary trip.
Sue: LOL I say that ALL the time... "Time to make the donuts" and feel like Fred! Was that his name?? Sorry the boys had to go with Josh for the holiday... at least he let them come back early for time with David. I guess you have to take the little wins. I LOVE frozen hot chocolate! The coffee shop in Shelburne Falls used to make the best ones! Was a very bad habit, when I worked in town!
Saturday sounds like a great day for you. I have an alarm set on my phone for today - for check in. Although, we paid for Early Bird, so they check us in, but if we want to upgrade boarding I want to do it sooner-rather than- later! I admit - I'm spoiled... worth $40.00 to get on sooner to get seats in the front. I hate waiting to follow 100+ other people off the plane! I think I am spoiling DH too... he enjoyed our front row seats from Bradley to Chicago! LOL
Jo: Thanks for starting us off this morning. WOO HOO for extending your stay!! Sorry the weather doesn't look "great" but hey vacation - is - vacation!! At least you aren't working! Glad you got a good nights sleep last night. That always helps. So when are you heading to NC?
Gabrielle: {{{hugs}}} Sorry you have to have another appointment, and a colonoscopy... but yes, it is pro-active, so you can get ahead of any possible concerns. UGH Busy day Saturday, but yes - YAY to no rain!!
Today: DH is going to play pickleball, and we will eat out for late lunch/early dinner. Other than that - there are no plans. I'll have to look at the map! I think Big Bear is close to Ken's cousins, so we are thinking we could maybe get to the ranch to see them.
Hope your run went well, and that you were in between storms.
Sue: Hope the firewall got rebooted and your day goes smoothly. I am thinking today is the last day of weather for you? Sun should be shining by tomorrow??
Today should get up to 84, but down to the 60s when we head home tomorrow. I did opt to wear jeans traveling this time... By the time we land it will be in the 30s! UGH! The good news is, by Saturday it is supposed to start warming up (last I saw) but still only in the 50s... not like warm out here!
OK Think First Thursday... I am thinking of a nice grilled chicken salad for dinner today! We've had lots of apps/snacks, no real "meals"... so a nice salad sounds yummy! Maybe nothing FRIED!?
Might check in later - ♥hugs♥

Afternoon all...sitting here with Hallmark on, eating my "pay day sushi" treat and catching up with all of you!! Work was pretty quiet but had enough work so I didn't have to "pretend to be busy"....glad tomorrow is Friday....it's been a long week for some reason....I'm dragging! I've slept OK but still feel like I'm dragging...will admit I didn't get enough sleep over the weekend so I guess it's just catching up with me by week's end!
Carole....thanks for starting us off Easter Sunday....LOL, I'm sure by now you are starting to figure out the "ins and outs" of your new car!! I will say I felt the same way in the CR-V....it was the first car I had with the touch screen and all the controls on the steering column, etc....thankfully the sales guy gave us a quick "how to" the day we picked it up and the manual is VERY user friendly. Yes, the extra day to get ready for the trip would have been nice but you made it and all went fine!! I need to find my capri's and shorts this weekend and start to think about what I'm bringing to TX next weekend....at this time next Friday we will be eating dinner with my DM. She likes to eat early so we will eat supper about 4:30pm. LOL!!
Wonder why the donuts were not the "hit" they usually are?? What was different this year?? At least all the pies were sold. I'm sure Ken will love them when he pops one out of the freezer later.... Bummer the weather for the sale was less than desirable but then you could warm up in the tub when you got home. Sounds like a win to me!! Oh Carole...I think I eat more Christmas cookies "raw" than I do once they are baked...like you I've been eating raw cookie dough and cake/brownie batter for 60 years!! And I ain't dead yet either!!
OK Carole...I'm confused??? Why did you have to check in for the 2nd leg of your trip??? Usually we get both flight boarding passes with the original check in?? Did you book each leg separately?? I've never had to do that?? WOW, up to three months to feel the improvements using the CPAP?? Didn't realize it would take that long....I expected up to a month or so but NOT 3 months!!
Christine....love that you chimed in with yet another Easter Classic tune! 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶
Gabrielle...I'm with you, aside from hymns, I couldn't come up with another Easter song!! Yes, I'm sure you do need the rain to held the water table...but I feel your pain....4 days of rain is miserable but will say each day as I drove past the lake you could see it getting higher and higher....it's actually almost up to full today.....lets just hope this the only rain we get this garden season and head into a dry summer like last year!! How nice to know the family that owns the restaurant you went to for Ed's birthday. It is nice to see thriving family owned places that survived the pandemic and still going strong! Glad DM was feeling good about hosting Easter dinner.
Jenny...sounds like you had a very busy Saturday...yes, the power washing can wait for another day. What day are you having your DD's birthday celebration??? Love the picture of the boys in their matching outfits and sun glasses. Cool dudes with their baseball caps turned backwards!
Carole....thanks for starting us off bright and early on Monday morning!! I was surprised to see it started that early!! Yes, we are always a bit on edge until we get through TSA and to the departure gate....then we can breathe!!
Karen....glad you got to head up to your mountain getaway and take care of some opening up! Yes, I agree....I'm sure Tony does NOT want to crawl under the trailer every year! Sounds like you have some "plans" for you break but nothing pressing or written in stone. I do hope you can get on the water at some point!! Yes, it's so hard to try to share suggestions and thoughts with adult children but also need to let them make their own choices....all I wanted to do was shake Sarah and tell her that Josh was NOT the man for her but she was in love and now we are dealing with the fall out that both Jason and I knew would come....we could see the writing on the wall but she was an adult and we had to accept her choices. I did hear her talking to Aunt Dana (Jim's first wife) telling her that she tried to reconcile over the holidays but then saw the "red flags" coming out again and knew it was NOT a good thing. She said "I should have seen them years ago, but I just ignored them thinking he would change".....live and learn!!

WOW Karen....that is some odd family dynamics!! I was having trouble following which kid belong to which adult and who is raising which kid.....I'm sure it was a bit awkward!! Glad they got some nice things you and Emily got to be a part of the celebration. I'm sure you learn a lot just listening from the fringes of the conversations. Sounds like tough childhood for Marissa....might explain a few of her issues and quirks. Yes, good plan to get your hair cut 3 weeks before the wedding so you don't have that "fresh chopped" look!! It always takes a week or so to lose that "fresh haircut" look!
Gabrielle....glad your few days at home last weekend help start your new week feeling more in control. LOL, have to chuckle at the "pre New Year crew" comment....yes, I've notice people are "thinning out" again here too!! So glad you and your family enjoyed time together and nice dinner prepared by DM.
Karen...WOW, WOW, WOW!! That's all I've got after reading about Isaac's situation at school....what do those two women have on the principal that he is cleaning your room....this is beyond ridiculous! You couldn't make anything like this up. I'm so happy for Isaac and the awesome opportunity he has with Republic Services....he sounds like he has found where he fits and is happy to go to work now!!
Gabrielle...thanks for starting us off on Tuesday!! Funny....as your temps start to drop today, ours are starting to go up....looking forward to some nice spring weather next week!! Glad you slept better ...always hate when I wake up and my brain won't turn off and I worry and run so many things through my head I likely have no control over or at least nothing I can do about it at 2:00am!! I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have to wait for a ZOOM doctor's appointment...I would assume that if it will be a video call it would be scheduled into the doctor's schedule and you shouldn't have to wait....but then again we all know how we often have to wait for an in person appointment!!
Jo....sorry for the terrible night's sleep earlier this week....any idea why your thighs and butt were so achy?? 4:52 minutes of sleep is NOT enough for sure....hope you were able to get to bed earlier Tuesday night and get rested up!! I'm with you....I'm about done with leftovers. Too bad Steven's girlfriend couldn't join you for Easter dinner....sounds like you cooked for a lot more people than you had around your table...I'm sure everyone enjoyed the "doggy bag" you sent them home with..... Glad the switch to Erie insurance will save you some $$ that's always a win. We have had State Farm for 40 years and can't complain about the cost...we have the "safe driver" monitors in the cars that saves us about $200 every 6 months and because we were accident free for 20 years, we have life time accident forgiveness now....at 10 years we had forgiveness for 1 accident, then at 15 years it was 2 accidents and then at 20 years it went to lifetime accident forgiveness so any fender bender will not increase our insurance!!
Sorry your vacation plans for your anniversary changed...but you'll get to AZ in time....sometimes the budget, work obligations and life in general gets in the way. I'm sure you will enjoy the get away to Mars Hill will be nice...hey, can't go wrong with a hot tub!! I guess since you didn't have to pay to get the Edge fix you can't complain too much but I still think the wait to get it back was a bit much!!
Carole...I am looking forward to the low 80's of San Antonio next weekend.....the one good thing about the 4" of rain is that it fell over 3 days....we would have torrential downpours for a while, then just light rain for a while.....the flooding wasn't as bad as if it had all come in 1 day but the flood warnings are still in place until tomorrow sometime because the streams and creeks are still flowing fast and this is when they jump their banks....thankfully we are not inconvenienced too much in our day to day commute so all is well for us....it is nice to the see the lake at almost full again!!
WOW Carole...you lucked out on Monday being through TSA by 4:30....I would much rather hang out at the gate for an extra half hour or more than to be worrying about getting through in time to get on the plane in time!! As I read through all the stress of your arrival in AZ and the car, CPAP bag, etc I just smiled....while most of our traveling goes smoothly, we have had experiences like yours....so glad it all worked out and the resort is a nice one. I say enjoy a facial too!!
OK....almost 8:00pm and I'm fading....Sarah just left to get the boys so chaos will soon be upon me!! No worries....they are sweet!!
Sweet dreams all....will finish catching up tomorrow!
